Indianapolis 500

I am so sorry. I had the days mixed up. I thought we were running Sunday. I just realized it when I saw there were no more entries. Sorry for not pulling out-- I always thought it was on Sunday.

First off grats to Jon, spent most of the last few laps watching the timing to see if you held off Dennis, you deserve it after your recent time mate - well done.

For me, qualified 32nd, not my fault really, could not chuck the guests out in time. And was just planning on avoiding the early mess I was expecting. So respect to everyone who actually started the race, the standard of driving throughout was very high, proven by 120 laps of green flag racing.

Realised that we had been too conservative with wing, so took it all off, and slowly through attrition made my way up the chart. Had a good few battles on the way. Surprised there were not more yellows as I saw a variety of bent and crashed cars but so be it.

Apologies to Anthony and Charles towards the end, I was hoping for an incident to help me get back round, but once it became obvious that was not to be let you two get on with it.

Really enjoyable event and well pleased to have made fifth, certainly not the quickest out there, but a top ten would have been great, fifth feels even better.

I hate dumb DNFs. I can understand getting caught up in a wreck or blowing an engine, but crashing coming out of pit lane for the third year in a row, in an important race like this when most everything was going fine for me, really drives me loony. Just pushed too hard on the access road, RR caught the grass a bit, looped it around and went head first into the outside wall. ugh...Had a damn good car, too. Oh well.

Gotta apologize to Anthony James, I believe it was. Coming out of T3 in the early going, I pushed up and into you and we just got collected and spun out. My fault entirely...I vowed not to be so aggressive early in the race, yeah right.

for me, not so good. Lost control the 1st pit. 80sec damage.

Worked my way to 11th, then found a car broad side in the middle of the track. Had a lot of fun preparing for this race.

Grats to all finishers.

1 radiator peps - had a tuff time of it. Did anyone finish the race using a 1 radiator the whole race?

Can't wait till next year.

GRATS JOHN!! Way to go man. I myself made a very stupid mistake very early. I was coming up on Stan in T2 and just flat out misjudged the gap that I thought was going to be between us. Got into Stan and trashed my car, and probably Stan's too, very sorry Stan. I got repaired, but had no speed and trouble keeping the car down off the wall. As soon as a pack came by me and I saw how much of a chicane I was, I bailed. There were way too many cars on the track to be that slow. Sorry to the team that I couldnt bring it home. Thanks R2P for having this event!

Congratulations to Jon well done. I also hate that Charles and I got together to put out that last yellow :( LONG green flag runs, good competion, that was fun. WOW my but is sore! Conner it happens, no hard feelings but it killed my car.

Well..... I will admit to the R2P community and the rest of the world of my incompetence at the very end.

I was biding my time behind A. Denine, waiting for 'that one moment' to pass him for the last podium position. We came up on lapped traffic, and my car pushed up a tad and into A. James. Up and over I went, like Ralf Schumacher at Melbourne 2002, causing the final yellow of the race. Sorry Anthony James, and Dennis Cummings who got caught up in the aftermath. And sorry Jon and Dennis M. for not letting you duke it out under green. Ugh........

Other than that, I was very happy to have started on the front row, which obviously helped me stay away from all the midpack craziness.

I had a good pace and felt comfy in the draft, starting 8th I felt a good finish was in the making, in the opening laps I just held my pace and then the first caution comes out and I get hit from behind, the car isn't even drivable under the caution so I take on the repairs and start my comeback from dead last and a lap down. Worked my way up to 6th until the dreaded words over TS...Stiblings smoking...Damn...she's done blown up with 35 to go and in 6th.

This was a blast, great racing by everybody, I had the battle for what I think has got to be the best on an oval yet, Denine Phillips and I traded positions at leat 15 times in a 25 lap stint and every pass was clean as a whistle, nice job guys.

Id like to thank the CanAm alliance 500 for a great effort!!!

Congrats to Jon on the win,the time invested certainly paid off.
My race ended mid way when the engine blew whilst in 8th place,pretty disappointing.
Was a helluva lot of fun whilst it lasted though.
