3 hours of Spa

My worst fear!

A moth! kept attacking me, I know it's irrational but I hate the bloody things and it completely ruined my race.

I still can't find it either :( it is waiting for me somewhere.

Disco 1hr 40mins in :( gutted :( i was really starting to fly in the really slippy conditions - GUTTED :(

cocked up big time in the first hour, pitted too early and put soft/wets on and they burned up within 5 laps 190C !!! FFS so decided to throw inters on but just couldn`t generate any heat and was really sliding alot so decided to throw hard/wets on and same again they stayed blue! 3 stops in the first hour!!

so eventualy stuck with the hards after realising they would have to do.

Slippy out there, was sorta fun while it lasted :(

Got my tires all wrong except at the start where I went for mediums. Jeez I'm fraked up. very hard to play for 3 hours.

Btw why am I 11th? At the finish it said 10th. Barry is 8th but it sais DNF. Stange.

Congrats Timon and Garret for the win, and of course all that finished. I say it again, what a race. Hardest of them all for me until now.

Great event. It was hectic out there with the weather. Practice was flooded, qualify same thing. Managed to grab pole with a nice lap. The race started dry, so had to do a compromise on the setup. I could manage to keep the lead.

Next thing the track was flooded and rain was pouring down after 30 minutes dry time! Next 2 hours were flooded and when the soft wets were worn it was so slippy. The back-end was all over the place. I made a few mistakes, but thank god kept the car in one piece.

I managed to maintain the lead most of the race and Dennis was really putting nice pressure on me throughout. We both were running around the same pace and i bet he had his moments too, lol. Could see that on the gap which fluctuated.

Great win in the end, really satisfied and happy with the result. Thanks all!

I want to apologize to Samuel, I don´t know how we do it m8, looks like we got a subscription on incidents lol :S. When I was lapping you and the other car and we both went bumper to bumper in Blanchimont.. and we went slower i just couldn't avoid you!

Qualifying:
Had only one timed Q lap, and that was safe one.

Race:
Started out nicely, overtook 3 cars by the end of lap 1, and started chasing Krue. Got on his ass, but was not able to overtake, and he was loosing me some time. I got by when he had misfortune with GT1 car. Then it started raining, stayed out as long as possible, and then it went all downhill for me. Not only was I on the wrong tires all the time, but my cat also decided to jump on my keyboard and engage pit-limiter and effin Java update launched.

I was loosing bunch of time on the wrong tires, and race went down the toilet.

Few laps before the end, I was now on slicks (VERY BAD move), I crashed head-on into barriers in between "Les Combes" and "Malmedy", headlights were gone and I couldn't see anything, it was pitch black. Few guys lighted up my path so I could finish, thanks a bunch.

A fantastic race and event, loved the rain. Unfortunately it was not my day. I lost it at Eau Rouge and severely damaged the car, and had to crawl back to the pits with three tires. After that I could not drive at all, making pathetic mistakes.
I did the same mistake at Eau Rouge again, and this time I almost took out poor Dennis who was coming out of the pits. I decided there and then to park it-- no sense risking to ruin someone else's race.
Again though: Great event, great cars and great weather.

I really didnt have a good time tonight ... I had a great start and the only time i knew what i was doing was when we started the race!

So much for seeing any sunlight ..

My ass is killing me! But it was worth it, I'm really glad I not only managed to finish a race, but a 3 hour one at that.
Quali went ok but I couldn't get in my best times because I kept meeting NGT cars on my fast laps. Started 3rd on mediums in the dry/damp conditions, and I could stay with Heinz and Timon just about and I built up a nice little gap to 4th. Then the rain came and mediums became uncontrollable once it got heavy. Had to change and decided to go for Inters, they wouldn't warm up and I had a miserable stint on them until I put it in the wall and got a puncture. Changed to Hard Wets when I got to the pits for repairs and they were a bit better but still wouldn't warm up. I was able to put in some good laps though and unlapped myself by passing some of the leaders. Just kept making little errors that cost me too much time, on a few occasions I lapped an NGT car just to spin or go wide in the next corner and have to do it again.
Went for Soft Wets on the next stop and they were perfect until the rain slowed a bit, then they started reaching ridiculous temperatures, touching 200 degrees occasionally!!
That was causing major wear and I wasn't sure they would take me to the end without blowing. Then Tom pitted and I got into 3rd and I had enough fuel to finish so I just went for it. The car was sliding all over the place and just generating more and more heat and instead of being sensible and backing off I binned it. The rear hit a wall giving me a puncture and I was stuck in the gravel. After about a minute of struggling I freed the car and limped back to the pits again. Came out in 5th with about 20 minutes to go, went for inters and they seemed to be the best choice at the end, I made some time up but I was a lap down on Brian so it was a lost cause.
Really disappointing to get into a podium position and then throw it away but that's what can happen in these long races. That was my first race in a Saleen, thanks to Heinz for the set-up, it felt really nice to drive.

At lap 17 i was down 5 laps, i had about the same problems as every one else with the selection of tires. i have not done any racing in the wet, so this was a learning experince.Track was damp for the start of the race,an i had put soft wet on for the qualifiing run, forgot to change them for the race. as others found they melted after about 4 or 5 laps, even though the track was wet. so i pitted an changed to med slicks, hoping the track would dry out. but of course after about 5 laps of trying to keep the car on a damp track with slicks, it started pouring. back into the pits again, to try hard wets, or was it intermed's. i ended up with hard wet at some point, but still could'nt keep it from spinning in the corners. after taking on a few barriers, i decided to call it a day an get out of the way of thoes able to run fast an keep on the track
