Vertigo: Valencia

I din't get a chance to qualify and started from the very back in 9th. A great start put me up to 5th in turn 1, but I had absolutely no idea what to expect from the track/car combo. I know both very well, so it wasn't tough to put 2 and 2 together. There was some chaos in like T11 maybe, that really awkward corner, and I wound up spun around backwards facing the wrong way in the gravel. I drove like hell to catch up and, thanks to Les making the pass easy, worked back up to 3rd from spinning down to 7th.

Great pictures Tom! There must have been some oil on that turn...that's the ticket! I felt like I was Nick Hogan in drifting school on that turn. I braked too late and the back end swung out on me. Not sure how I saved it, sorry if that messed you up. In general that was a fun race. More people should join in.

Ditto, Bill; would be nice to see some more cars in the field. The Vertigos are fun and very forgiving to drive - just the makings for a tight series if people would give them a go.

I was of course glad to get a rare win, plus to finally start rolling a few of my recent streak of DNF's off my rank. Had practiced for this one after the race the night before and was expecting to be in the 36's from that, but couldn't match that pace come race day. Did try the whole time though and finally snuck one in on the 17th lap, so I could relax... ;-)

Hope I didn't throw anyone off. It was my first sim race, and didn't know it would be with stability control off. hadn't practiced without, so I was a complete idiot. I'll be back next time, better prepared, but probably still running in the back.
