WTCC '06 fun-run

First race I spin under braking, end up at back of field. Oh well. Second race I spent quite a few laps catching the car ahead of me (Omar?), and just as I do, I'm right on his bumper, in a corner, and the car behind me (Mike?) hits my backend and sends me into the gravel. piss! lost 10 seconds getting back on the track, and from there it was all down-hill.

Seemed quite a few complained of bad connections, fps, pings rates, whatever. I had no problems like that, and am downloading two large files while the racing was going.

I enjoyed WTCC online, hope we do more.

Well, for a freebie race from "RACE", I had a lot of fun..I never raced at this trackuntil today...I was 2 seconds off from the front runners, but I felt confortable in race after a few adjustments to the car...

Heat 1 - Had a great battle for 5 or so laps with Tim, he knew I had a weak point on T-1, as I brake way behind of his braking point...He attempted once and over-shoot the corner and was able to gain my position, next 2 laps he chased me until he passed me at the "Pinheirinho" curve and was not able to catch him back and finished 6th.

Heat 2 - Started from 2nd. position, but I made a mistake in the first lap, passing my braking point, going to the gravel and loosing 4 spots...I was surprised for my time...PB was 1'26"921 on the BMW No. 54 :o... Then, I had Chip behind me for a lot of laps until he got punted off track...I had contact with N. Phillips as his car went sideways, lost control and I thought he was going to stop and I was already on speed, and he swerved into the right side of the track...I brake, but wasn't enough and hit him on the side...After that he quit...and I finished 4th...

well off track and off pace both heats, went off track in the same spots, did a big u-turn and back tracked in heat 2, i think i am the one that tapped u chip in the "el chubacabra" turn. i for one will buy this sim this week if there is enoufh r2p guys who would race it. one glitch i noticed was, whil running hte first heat..i was using stock setup, didn't notice fuel was unde r20 lps. i pitted, the car "auto pitted" and ran straight into the pit wall???. but fun all in all, i consider this sim, old school, laggy but fun. i hope r2p picks it up.

That was intense fun in race 1. In race two a friend of mine paid me a surprise visit and knocked on my door just as the race started. I hope I was careful enough moving over for you guys to get by. . If you run some more I'll sign up.

I loce this sim, and it is great that some one is finally going to sanction some online races with it. These sprint races are INTENSE! I really have no complaintes about either of my races, except for that my brakes would fade terribly, and not very gradually either. It really caught me out twice and it cost me dearly both times. Me and Nuno had a great battle at the end of race one, my brakes were really hampering my efforts, and at one point I got under him, but the car refused to slow down and I hit him. Sorry about that Nuno, I pulled over so you could get the win you deserved. Second race, pretty much same story with out the incident. I hope R2P does more of these.

We will surely do more. RACE has improved a lot since the last time we tried, I give it that.

I only ran in the first race (of two) and had a good time. Picked up some pace as the race went on. I too was experiencing a lot of warp-behavior, but I think it may have to do with the GTR2-plr file that I use in RACE. Maybe this is causing the warp-issues? I will find out later when I plan to revert back to the default plr file to test the theory.

Omar, that out-braking in T1 that I did... I wasnt trying to pass you that firs time. I had such a great draft coming down the front straight and completely blew my "adjusted" braking point. I had the choice of hitting you or going around. So I moved to your inside and actually hammered the throttle for a second to make sure I got PASSED you instead of hitting you in the door. Worked like a charm, but put me into the sand. Still had a great battle with you afterwards, which is more then what would have happened if I hadn't done what I did. Sometimes Im smart, other times I'm a bone-head (VVC @ Anderstorp where I punted David Poel)

Look for more RACE evens in our near future.

You mention the .plr file, I've never changed mine (and I didn't have any warping problems), wonder if the other guys with warping problems changed theirs?

Nice race there tonight, was my first at Race2Play. Race 1 was ok, i had only adjusted my gearing and had maximium rear wing which gave me big drag on the long straights. Ended race 1 3rd or 4th, not sure.

In race 2 i got rid of all the rear wing on the seat, this seemed to work a treat. A few laps into it, 1st and 2nd made contact and i was able to sneak by. finished 1st.

Where do i download the server replay guys ??

I was looking for replays as well, can't find 'em. I read on RSC forums (the slowest forums in the world), that replays are not saved. Hopefully that is incorrect, but there are many people asking about it on the RSC forums.

replays are saved, but it over-wrote the file. I need to jump on it before it over-writes and we should be OK.

Yes, I *think* the altered PLR files may be a cause for the warpyness. Hopefully that is the case because it is an easy fix. I really like the sim... much better then it was when first released.
