USA Caterham: Puebla

Good race guys. My first pole, then to win was more then i expected to say the least. Good way to start out the season, and a fantastic showing for the team, P1 and P2. :-) Nice finish in 3rd Tommy.

I've uploaded my setup if anyone wants to try something different.

I actually thought I had more race car and could give Mark a good fight, but unfortunately I was good for about 3 laps, then Mark just started slowly pulling away. Nothing I could do, Mark just drove an excellent well paced race.

Don't think I've driven (simulated) any car that has so much throttle steer. Wooohooo!

Had a good start but the car in front didnt so i had to lift. Managed to get up to forth (made small contact with Ryan which i didnt realise until i watched the replay of the start-Sorry Ryan!)Pushed Tommy for most of the race while Ryan pushed me. Tried like hell to get 3rd off Tommy but he didnt make any mistakes, nice driving Tommy.

For me it was a race of a few quick laps then tyres got too hot and slippy and a few laps of no grip then tyres cooled, cycle repeated through race.

Fun race. Sorry though to see you slide off the spin out Chip. Was looking forward to battling with you for the rest of the race.

Yeah, that sucked. The brakes locked and the back end came loose. I hit the wall just hard enough to knock off the nose cone and mess up the frontend alignment. That really ruined my race, at least I finished.

Mark and Rob ran away and I hung with BF and TC for 10+ laps but then I fell off making small mistakes. I was followed well for 5+ laps.
No problem BF, just a small bump, I thought it was my fault when it happened, but I guess both of us are to blame ;p ....great racing!

Thought I'd give this one a whirl despite the general bad aftertaste of Race07 and it's issues. Thought the Caterham's might be fun, people say all sorts of great things about them in general. First impressions: aren't these supposed to be oversteer monsters? Mine pushed and plowed the entirety of practice and the race.

My general lack of talent/familiarity/practice with these meant I could only watch Mark and Rob disappear into the distance, had close racing with Brian on-and-off during the race for the final podium step.

Guess Team Venom pretty much has the series ch'ship all sewn up already, eh? :-)

And Mike Holtz, I think investing in a $10 joystick will greaty enhance your enjoyment and safety in sim racing rather than trying to drive with a keyboard.
