UET Mixers USA nGT

Well that was interesting.

Got into Hibners lagged car on my fast lap during qual and had to pit, made half another lap and was -.5 when the session ended :( 2nd on the grid.

Was waiting for the clock to tick down and when it hit 15 seconds I found myself still in nuetral as half the field was beginning to pass me. Dunno what happened there.

End of lap 1 I was sixth, made a nice pass on Garrett I think it was and Sam gave me an easy pass so I was 4th after about 5 laps.

Slowly cught up to Heinz who looked like he was being slowed a bit by the 2nd place car. Anyway I got a nice run on Heinz and made the pass afer he got a bit sideways.

Caught up to the 2nd place car and into the final chicane he got loose, I tapped his front end around actually straightening him back out as I passed him.

Was catching Barry when he cut the last corner too tight and found the gaurdrail handing me 1st.

Had a decent cushion behind as I decided wether or not to take tires. I started on soft fronts and they were marginal as far as making the distance. So I decided to do some thing I have never done and took only fronts.

The car was a handful to say the least LOL spun about 2 laps out of my stop and gave the lead back to Barry. Barry and I swapped about 3 times I think. Anyway finally I looked at my fuel with 10 to go and about shit myself when I saw I had no where near enough. I immediately started short shifting A LOT.

Krueger caught me and I flashed him past but I guess he was fine with 2nd. Eventually I figured I had to stop or sit at the line and wait for the finish but as Krueger passed me and crossed the line the race ended with me almost stopped well short of the light. Then as Heinz came around and for some reason he stopped to let me finish 2nd.

Grats to all was a fun race fighting my back to the front.

What a disappointment for me...qualified 7th had a good car and was right in the mix of things for the first 2 laps. I made a small mistake dropped back to 11th, but was quickly on the road to recovery.
Had some fun racing with Barry k, got past him then botched it 1 more time only to have to pass him again. I made it up to 8th when I got behind my nemesis, Don Hibner, for some reason I find bad luck around that car.
I was just about ready to pass him in the long back straight when suddenly he lags and it was like hitting a steel girder! The front of my car was mangled, the tire went flying and I was on my way back to the paddock with a long walk in front of me.
Sorry to my teammate Heinz for not bringing it home, a rarity for me in nGT class.

I'll be honest kent, i thought you were running down the clock, and Sam and you confused yourselves who was taking the win there, and so when i came around sam had crossed the line and the chequered came out, so i waited for you to carry on, i thought there was a slight chance you got the fuel calcs wrong, but decided if you could roll over before the guys behind me came, it was yours to take.. :)

Sorry to Sam, when we were battling with Miguel, i got too close and there seemed to be a knock on effect, and i just couldnt avoid smacking into you...

When i got the the grid, i was the last to join, and normally it countsdown to 0 .. but like kent said, it was at 15 seconds when i joined the grid, and it gave the grid full starting race message, i think tim had dropped from the room so there was nobody left, lights went green and kent got dropped :P

Otherwise, not a bad race for me, had a nasty spin catching the sand on that FAST chicane .. may even have ended with a different result if it werent for that, who knows..

Otherwise aswell, the racing was really close and fun tonight .. enjoyed it alot.

Unlucky to see Barry hit that final corner armco barrier .. thats nasty!!

no worries Gregg, we jumped Uk NL and Team venom tonight, we just need a solid finish in the final race to secure 3rd :P

I couldn't catch a gap in qualy and wound up near the back of the pack. It's always precarious back there during the opening lap and I fell victim. I tapped someone ever so slighty in the Mercedes Arena and was begging them to save it as it was a slow slide. To no avail, they went off track and I served my drive-thru. Too bad as I had the car to run up front. I came out in the back, again, and headed out to catch *someone* to race with. I had some nice battles with 7th-12th during the race and actually led for 3 or 4 laps to my chagrin.
Grats to Sam, Kent & Heinz.

At least my wheel stayed attached for this race (I lost it in the Euro race).

I gotta tell ya folks, waking up from a nap, drinking a very large cup of Yuban coffee, then while practicing drinking almost an entire litre of water is just not a good combination for racing. As soon as the race started it started coming on. It was all I could do to hold concentration. I was actually thinking about going into the pit when Kent was coming up behind me and took a little too big of a bite off the last corner and SMACKED the big nub. Took a couple more laps and had to go in. That put me short on fuel for the stint and forgaot to add more...DUH!

Had some good racing and the weather was perfect for my setup.

Well, very uneventful race for me. Thats probably not a bad thing..

Fuel went well i was right on the mark with an extra 5L at the end, i had made a last min change after quals because the car felt like a tank, Tires went well, i made no tire change during the race, next time ill take fronts. i was -2 laps off the lead lap, ill consider that an improvement as my last race i was -4. I also saw some weird things with timings, at one point i was -9 laps down.

For some reason during quals the FF in my wheel was gone, only time i even felt anything was when i was on a curb, it was fine during practice and for the race, it was weird
going back and forth.

All and all i was just slow, ive had the game for less than 4 weeks and im seeing improvement, so that keeps it fun to a point but i look forward to running with the pack, hell id settle for one or two others right now.
