Euro WTC: Pau #2

I got just as good a start as I got for race 1, but as I drew alongside Sam Moss he decided to run me straight into the wall. Not cool. That almost completely stopped my car and I lost two places on the spot, and as I bounced off Anthony came across my front and spun, and I had to take avoiding action. Then going into T1 Borut was going slow so I had to brake to make sure I didn't hit him, but he left room so I dived down the inside. Unfortunatley Sam (Michaels) was carrying a lot of speed and shoved me as I turned in, causing me to spin, which sent me back to last place. I was able to slowly work through the field as people went off, and I caught Sam (Moss) and Boris on the last lap battling for the lead. Boris made a mistake at T1 and I took 2nd, then I raced Sam for the rest of the lap. I must confess that I was still pretty mad about how he rubbed me off on lap 1 so I was quite aggressive, but I didn't get passed anyway so I had to settle for another 2nd.

Is it an acceptable practice to use the barriers to gain an advantage on the exits particularly first and last corner exits??? Instead of actually slowing for the corner the conventional way.

Pretty lame if you ask me, its like watching kids playing grand turismo....

Yeah while I was stuck at the back after my spin I saw a lot of people doing this. The further I got towards the front the less I saw it happening though. Coincidence? I think not....

It was happening up front too dude. I just want to know whether this is an acceptable practice because the advantages are at least 3 fold. I lost a lot of time trying to avoid 'hitting'(railroading!) barriers....

Well its definatley faster to avoid the barriers.

On good tyres yes, on the exit of last corner on knackered tyres i would imagine its far easier to let the car drift out and let the barriers do the work for you than rather than holding off the throttle until the shot front tyres grip.

Anyway, my original question still stands :)

ok, well, I would hope it would be treated like cutting, and you can protest cutting ;-)

Total disaster for the team. Darren suffered serious lag issues and was forced to retire. I drove to 3rd in race 1, but was unfortunately invisible the whole time and not scored!
Started from the back in race 2 - still invisible - and just kept going to see what happened. Made my way up to 3rd by lap 9 and somewhere the scoring corrected itself...just in time for my screen to freeze at the worst possible moment, under braking for turn 1. Woke up to find myself parked in the barrier with a punctured tyre. I figured it wasn't safe to crawl back to the pits if I was still invisible, so retired. Bugger.

Got a nice holeshot at the start, then everything went a bit tight and i banged doors with a Beemer on my left but no spins as far as i knew and i came out of T1 in 4th :P

Picked up 3rd and then second as the guys in front went off, and was looking to get a good run onto the frontstretch to go for the lead when i hit a boulder it felt like - i just gave the armco the slightest rub and it just killed my car totally.

Track is just plain odd if you ask me.
