Congrats to podium.

Well, My first race in CCWS after one only try back in S6 (I had to park) and I can say I had much more fun this time.

I could not make a single qual lap, so I got 20th slot. Then my first mistake was to believe after formation lap was a standing start, but not, it was a rolling start and I didn't realize that until I passed S/F line and could not find my red box.

Nevertheless, by lap 15 I was 8th in a comfy pace and kept there for so many laps, even after pitstop, that I was thinking of a T10 and then... distraction and crash. I soon lost 2 positions and had to pit for repair, loosing another place. I tried to gain P10 back but then I spun in the hairpin and everybody passed me.

I need more concentration next time. See you there !!

YEAH!!!!!!!! Fun race...even if difficult. i had a previous race in fabcar, and i don t think i will do back to back race again, pretty tough!!! even with good results.
Qual went bad as i touched wall and had to come back to fix suspension, so i had only one real lap with warmed tires but was glad to take 10th.
First stint, i touched wall again in 1st lap and had a bent suspension for the hole stint, but got used to have the steering wheel off to go straight, got it fixed after the stop and all was going good as the fuel depleted, and lost concentration too 6 laps before end cause i was not sure i could have enough fuel to finish, obviously, i hit the barriers again, but worst than the 1st time, and the car was really hard to keep straight at high speed, so i decided to pit for a splash cause i had 40sec lead on 4th, got the checkers in pit lane and was releaved!!!!
VERY GOOD sportsmanship with everybody, easy to overtake backmarkers, lots of fun to race with you all, i ll be there for next one!!!! :)
btw, towards the end, not sure which of the Erickson brothers, i passed at the hairpin and as i was accelerating, i saw you sideways in my rears, was i the cause, if yes, sorry!!!

Well, I wrecked on the second lap and then had to pit. Then got a stop and go penalty after I pitted? So I pitted again, and they didn't count it so I got DQ'd. I guess I didn't do the stop and go correct because they gave me tires. Oh well, see you next weekend.

Ryan, if i'm correct, when you have a speeding or game penalty, it's a drive thru, so you just drive in there with speed limiter, DON'T stop in your spot!!

i had very little practice for this one but i managed 11th place in qualifying with only one hot lap. after a few laps and getting up to 8th place i got beached on the grass by the hairpin which cost me about 20 seconds. then after 5 or 6 laps i had a big wreck and knocked both my wings off. i got it all fixed but it cost me a total of about 2 minutes. luckily i was able to increase my fuel and not need an extra stop. i ran in last place for a good long time but eventually worked my way up to 10th....probably due to attrition more than anything else.

What can I say? I love these cars but my "pretty good" speed is matched by a pretty good propensity to make foolish mistakes. I am not a Tristan or a George, the chances for a bugger like me to be fighting for a podium are rare and it is very upsetting to me to screw it up like this. The fact that on the starting grid I could see George's car...for me that's huge, and I am beginning to understand these beasts but what I don't understand is why I make about 20x the number of mistakes (also in practice btw) that I make with any other series. In any case, quit the whining Z and let's get on with yet an other tale.
The track was fabulous for me: fast turns, challanging, such a huge difference from that utter cement bore of Long Beach and that bloody fountain. The chicane was an absolute thrill. I was very confident after practice.
First problem: qualy. After my second timed lap I threw her into the fence at the chiacane: just then I heard 5 min to go and with a lot of damage I did not want to limp back to the pits and mess other people up so I ESCed. I qualied 4th, and to be quite honest even if I had hit the time I had set as a goal I would have gained one more position and then if, if, if. Also my friend Steve Smith had issues in qualy so there again, if, if , if.
The start was good, for the first few laps I settle into 4th position behind Allen Cotton: I am getting to see Allen a lot these days, also in F1. He is a great driver and we can duke it out together-- I can trust him and we make for pretty good buddies at 200mph. Unfortunately, today, Allen must have thought I was being a little too affectionate when at the hairpin I managed to hit him under braking in the rear left. I am very sorry Allen, I don't know how much I modified your setup but for sure I did damage to your car and I am very sorry. That was mistake number one, and I might add that after I hit Allen's left rear I went flying into the barrier at the hairpin. I rejoined the track only when it looked safe and no-one was approaching, however if the stewards think that was too risky and I should have parked it, please feel free to apply any sanction that is necessary. This incident put me a few positions back, I think 9th or thereabouts. From here until my first pit stop, I would almost be pleased myself because I put in a fierce come back and was actually back to 3rd before my pitstop. Since all the others had already done their stop I was looking pretty good. Unfortunately, at the pit in I did mistake #2 and LOST it like a drunken lout at the point where you have to get your speed under control. I had to manouver and finally after an eternity got her going into the pits again and my crew also fixed my damage which lost me some more time. So out I came again, and once again I started driving very hard to try to climb back-- and once again I did although only to 4th I believe. Then as I was coming up to my teammate Bob Fay I almost lost her under braking and just to confirm my status as the Day's Moron I spoke to Bob on TS, mentioning something like "oh you would not believe what almost happened to me again..." just as I was finishing the "again" bit I realized that about a few milliseconds ago I had passed the point of no return for braking for that bugger of a slow left turn. Bang. Into the guardrail, and the car was absolute poop. Limped back to the pits, 75 sec pitstop, repaired damages came out again. Now I am just aiming to make it into the TOP10 and avoid being yelled at by my teammates (they would never do that btw), who have brilliantly brought themselves into the top10. And I do join them there, happily 9th. Oh so happy. So happy but I am not exactly smiling, every third word I whisper to myself begins with F and it ain't my name. Just as I am effing about on the fast back section I suddenly realize Omar Gonzales was not in front of me and not behind me, but he was above me. In a rather interesting moment that did not agree with the laws of physics Omar and someone else (sorry, haven't seen the replay yet)-- had a HUGE accident and I had nowhere to go but into one of their cockpits. Not even a top10....had to pit again and lose another minute or minute and half. At least this one was not because I was debating myself over TS... Poor, poor, poor race. I will go to Road America and try again. I am just sorry for my teammate because I let them down once again. I have asked them to fire me, but they have developed a strange fondness for my velvety voice over TS-- which although a bit disturbing-- will hopefully save my position in CT Racing for an other week at least. Congrats to everyone, and George, you are on an other planet.

Actually, Ryan & Daniel, a stop & go is not a drive-through. You have to stop in your pit stall and then the stop & go timer will count and once it is finished, you may leave again. If you pit for any work or refueling, you will not have served the stop & go and must do it again.

Not much to say...This track is challenging, but with the "Aero Push" that this car creates is impossible to follow behind on a 185 mph turn...I lost it followinh and bang...hit the steel barrier...Too many spins cause by a damaged suspension, suffered some FPS issues when just some drivers got close to me, not all...It was a bad race for me, I made mistakes and ended up paying with a huge hit to the steel barrier again that send mack into the track in front of other drivers "F. Zargani and the likes".. I'm sorry but I was out of control...
