good race guys

i have to apologize to omar for that little tap. i didnt know which way to go and then you just slowed down. for some reason i had a lot of trouble getting by slower cars in the 2nd sector today...just something about the way the track is i guess.

i had a great battle with kieron after that spin. i hoped i could get you at the first stop but i wasn't even close. i pushed hard in the second stint to close the gap and when i finally did i still had 4-5 more laps in my tank than you. when you pit i pushed really hard and after i came out of the pits i didn't have to worry at all, which is a good thing because i short-shifted for the last few laps and finished the race with just 3 liters of fuel! oops

i jumped from 7th to 4th in the championship today! congrats to sandman for the win. great season guys

CT takes the team title! Grats to George on the driver's championship. Had a great time in my 1st full season of Champ Car. Cant wait for S9!

Just wanted to give a quick appology to all racing the last 10 laps or so. I auto chatted by accident. My brake bias keys are right next to it, and didn't even know i hit the wrong key till my teammate told me over TS. So i hope i didn't screw anyone up. Very sorry for that.

Now the race.... First of all would like to thank my teammates for a great season. This is a great series to take the team title with. For which i am very proud of. Way to hang in there Bobby and Francesco!! Great work!

Congrats to John for a big win. Sure isn't easy here. Also congrats to the podium finishers.

Had a great race going up till halfway then just had an issue that totally agravated me. Lost my cool and blew my own race. Not sure if i'll run this series again full time due to this issue. These cars with the aero push and having a problem like that just don't mix. You lose nothing but positions. Not worth the frustration in my eyes. Had fun for the most part this season. Alot of class act drivers here and i thank all of you for a great season.

Also a big congrats to George for kicking all of our asses all over the place again. You really are a ringer!

NP John...I was very slow on my reflexes today...2 days ago I fell from the bike trying to avoid an SUV in a drugstore parking lot :D, and I'm very sore, bruised and scarred, and because of this I feel I ruined 2 people's races because I was trying to hard not to get lapped so I send my apologies... It wasn't easy, lots of good competition out there...The good thing is that I finally made the patch and all of the issues with "AP" are gone... 3 weeks and lots of testing but finally the issue is fixed... Anyways, sorry for those incidents to the drivers...

Man I felt good and ready for this event yesterday, a good set up that I could comfortably do low 23's in and occasionally dip into the 22's with. But then it all got a little frustrating when during quali somebody exits the pits when I am running my boost hot lap and instead of staying out of the way takes the racing line through Beckets. Not only did that screw up my hot lap but put an end to quali for me. On with the race, yikes is there any part of this track where aero push doesnt effect the car...erm no! Even through Priory and Lufield, I would feel the understeer as I closed in on the car in front and looking at my lap times I could see 1 to 2 secs being lost each lap, pile on the frustration. In the end my temper got the better of me and I lost it exiting Chapel hitting the wall and damaging my suspension, I should have limped round for repairs but by then I was so pissed off I didnt even bother to disconnect, just switched the PC off, threw all my teddy's out of the cot and went to sulk in a poorly lit room with a decent pint of cider.

Grats to thoughs that finished and I was about to say for the umpteenth time that you can stick this event where the sun dont shine but Omars just made the sun come out, thanks mate. Hopefully Tim will have no probs incorporating your AP fix into this mod and we can all get on with some proper racing again.

I joined this series this season primarily to finish in the top 10 to qualify for the World Championship. But after missing the Laguna Seca race I did not have much of a chance. The DNF at Rouen did not help either. I figured I would need a podium finish to have any chance. However, Alex Fed did not race today, and Dennis C. left during warmup. Disconnect? :(. Anyway, suddenly I was almost guaranteed a top 10 series finish. Which I am very happy about, although that is not the way I would prefer it to happen of course.

I had a 4th place qualifying which is the highest I have ever qualified at R2P. It was a PB lap time for me, so I was happy. I moved up to 3rd after a while and then went into the pit stop. I guess my preperation was lacking for the pit stops here because I took the wrong entrance. I basically took the long way. Then in the pit Steve Brunell got in front on my stall (game problem), so I had to reverse the car to exit the pit. Needless to say, the pit was horrible. I lost about 20 seconds. I dropped to about 10th place after that. I did manage to move up a few positions and finish 8th, but still a little disappointing. My last stint was terrible, I seemed to lose all driving skill.

I like these cars a lot and I will miss them next season. It has been a pleasure racing with everyone. Hopefully we will use this mod in the WC a few times.

First ever race with this Mod and it was great. It didn't seem 2 minuets after the start that I was being called in for the first stop, the race just flew by.

Was looking good for 2nd in qual until Bob put a flyer in in the dying seconds of Qual to knock me down to 3rd.

Start was good, managed to stay close to Bob but got a good jump on Ryan. Was expecting John to clear of into the distance but to my surprise after a couple of laps me and Bob where keeping him in sight.

Had fun chasing Bob in those opening laps, and it allowed me to experience the dirty air effect, it's damn cool that it's their but it doesn't half make life difficult :).

Lap 11 and I was surprised to see Bob peel off into pitlane, and by that time I pretty much figured I would be racing Bob for 2nd place so I pushed hard while he was in the pits. But unfortunately that battle with Bob never happend.

John was only a couple of seconds up the road at this point so I knew with traffic I might beable to close right up and put a little pressure on. We were still a few laps away from any traffic though so John was able to pull away a little, but he was still in sight.

The end of lap 15 though and John started to hit the traffic which allowed me to close up a little. Hurtling down to stow I was around 5 or 6 car lengths behind Brian F, then mid corner the rear just snaps to the left. A quick flick of opposite lock saved the car from spinning but I had to take to the extra run off and the grass before getting back on to the track.

Then a couple of corners later I notice tyre smoke then my name jumped up to the top of the list. John had spun gifting me the lead. I knew John was faster but I had around 8 seconds on him now, and with traffic I was thinking I might be able to hold on to this one.

End of lap 19 and it was time for my first stop, John had closed the gap by a couple of seconds by this time so I needed a good stop. Just about got the car slowed down for the pitlane speed limit and hit the marks perfect, crew got to work and I was away.

John managed to stay out for quite a few laps longer. When he did pit I was stuck in traffic that lost me around a second. I still managed to pass John but the gap was down by a couple of seconds.

The second stint was just about watching the gap drop to John. I wanted to push as hard as I could but I never really dared just incase I went flying off into the wall, my lap times were still pretty much at the top end of my ability though. Lap 34 and it was time for my second stop, John had got the gap down to 1 second now so I was praying he hit traffic while I was having my stop. Pretty much the opposite happend though.

Peeled off hit the limiter and chugged down the pit lane. Spotted 2 cars halfway down having there stop, then I noticed my pit box was right next to them. As I got closer my box was at the front of these 2 cars and I noticed one of the cars was half in my box. Tried to squeeze in the first time but no dice, I was at a funny angle and I was now Blocking Andre K. And as I came to a stop Andre was trying to get away so I had to move forward to let him out then back up into the pit box. Gutting thing was if I was half a second later Andre would have been long gone. So for that I have to say sorry to Andre for holding you up a little there :(.

The stop was done and it cost me around 7 seconds which pretty much put pay to my slim chances of getting a win. John made his stop and he still had 13 seconds on me so with a good second stop I would have still lost the lead to John.

After that I just started to look after the car to make sure I brought it home, but saying that to my Team managers annoyance my last lap of the race was far and away my fastest lap of the race :).

Grats on the Win John, was a great drive and good to race with you. Grats to Dennis too for 3rd and everyone who finished.

Bummer, i just changed the time and now got it right, so , good thing i came in early to practice , but i missed qual, btw, sorry for the chat during qual, i thought it was unusual that nobody would say hi??? it was ok to start in the back, i thought it would be interesting to do a comeback since i knew i had a good setting(got the 4th fastest lap), so i started with a spin in form lap and was way behind from the start, but managed to come back behind a battle between omar and Bob fay i think, i hope i didn t cause you guys any trouble!!! especially in the braking zone at T7 which i was definitly faster than a lot of guys and eventually touch with someone, which i had to repair, then had a drive-thru, so in all, 5 times in the pits, but i still had fun running this track, even with a very tired body, cause i just had 25 tons of sand shuvled inside my basement...
really hope to be able to do ALL the races in next season!!

In terms of what i should have achieved and what i actually achieved this was probably my worst race ever. Me and my teammate Allen Cotton practiced every night this week and both of us were lapping in the 1.23's easily and some high 1.22's.

I f**ked quali good and proper, spun at second to last corner on my first boost lap and forgot to turn boost off then less than a lap later my engine was toast with no quali time.

That screwed all my race plans, decided i needed to do something different as i new passing was going to be difficult/impossible so i filled the tank right up put on black scrubs, if i was going to be stuck behind ppl it might as well be with a full load of fuel.

My race started badly as I spun exiting last corner on lap 1 or 2 and Dany had no where to go and ploughed into to me, which left me with bent steering, got going but Dans car must have been damaged because he ran wide passing the start line hit the wall and his car spun back onto the track which i hit again but fortunately not to hard. Raced the whole full tank stint with bent steering which i repaired at the 1st stop.

Not going to say any more about the race other than there is one individual (im sure if you have ever been stuck behind this person while lapping him you will know exactly who i mean) on here that i really want to say my piece to, but im not going to because i will get banned....

Gutted, as far as the championship was concerned i had a half a chance of finishing 2nd and a decent chance of finishing 3rd or 4th especially with the amount of practice i put in and my pre race pace. Grrrrrr

With all my anger about the race i almost forgot my manners. :)
