Nabot Challenge

Yeah the cars are cheezy, but the racing is fun!
And I just can't NOT comment on the clever name, very cute Tim.

Qual:
I got a couple clean laps and was pretty happy with a 42.5, but went back to the pits and saw Raul did a 41.4!! How? Gotta figure out how to save replays of qual so I can see how that was done.

Race:
Boy am I glad 40+ cars didn't show for this one :-) Nabot isn't short in length, but is narrow and very tight.
Ended up having a good race with Keithley (not in same class) while waiting to see if Raul and Maciej could keep up that pace. Maciej was ragged and all over the place and eventually went off and damaged himself, and I started to close the gap to Raul after half-way, but just didn't have enough time.

Next up, a favorite track of mine that hasn't been used in a couple seasons, but I think not so favorite of many others. Will be interesting to see how many show at Orchard Lake (I imagine many will choose a Howston as they can stretch their legs).

I had such a great time on Toban reversed. Even though I got off with a bad start and dropped a few places, it turned out to be a great and clean race for me. Had a really good fight with Goran in the Hammer for quite some laps. It was tight, not very much room but we mostly kept it together.

LOL Exciting race!
Q'd 3-rd in my class, which is equal to a win for me :) At the start I was still wondering how Tristan did 1:40, and why Jack is behind me. But then the lights went green and all "free" time I had for the whole race was about 2 secs. First Magnus cling his ZR to mine for a lap, then I had a battle with Vautrelle for 5 or 6 (or more) laps, and with Greg all the way to Grande Finale. I crossed the line 0,078 secs in front of him.
And for all those 19 laps of door2door madness I had only one minor contact, which is amazing.

First time in these cars since the demo pretty much :P

Forgot we were in different classes tbh, but had some good scraps along the way as the tyres came into it later on - some of the big cars were really suffering late in the race which gave me a better overall finish but still 2nd in class so not bad first time out.

Had an up and down race... and I must say that I'm somewhat embarrased about how far behind Tristan I was in the ZRs... man's he's quick! I was running what I felt was as hard as I could but was something like 6 seconds off his time... LOL!

Anyway, I had a generally good race except for two mistakes under braking when I missed my markers and lost the rear end at turn-in. Lost some positions each time but kept the car clean and ran pretty consistent (albeit slow) laps to the end. The one good thing from the run (other than a class Top 10) was that my lap times didn't fall off at the end of the run (my braking mistakes notwithstanding) as much as it looks like some other cars fell off. So, maybe I have a good setup for tire wear, just not so good for speed. Something to work on if nothing else.

I'll be back for Orchard I hope.
