1.5 hours of Sebring

That was a fun race. Much better performance in my case compared to last season here. Car felt very good and got even better as the race went on. Qualifying was a bit poor for me but starting 5th ain't all that bad. Could have dealt without the heat today as it was peaking into the mid 90s here and of course I was in the hottest room in the house with no air conditioning. But I guess I should expect that with summer coming.

Had a few good battles throughout the race. In the early going, I had a scrap with Kent. He was probably better in sector 1 but I had him pretty good in 2 and 3 and eventually got by him going into the final corner within the first 15 min. I then focused on Juan and Dennis who were battling for 2nd. Their battle was pretty good from my standpoint and I would have loved to join them, but the car seemed a little bogged down in the middle of the stint and just couldn't quite get up to them. I did eventually get into 3rd after Juan spun out in the final corner right before pit stops commenced.

After the stops, I didn't gain much ground on Dennis but throughout the 2nd stint, I reeled him in little by little. Unfortunately, he had a spin out of the chicane which gave me 2nd later on in the stint. Would have been a good battle if he didn't do that.

Once I got 2nd, it was all about cruising for me and also trying learn more about this DP package. You can't quite run it with a full amount of grill tape so I spent the last half of the race upping the tape little by little on the stops to see how the engine would respond. I got some good info on that and now I am looking forward to trying it out on the future tracks.

Grats to Tristan on the win and to everyone that finished. It is shaping up to be a great battle between SoCal and GTNDC for the team championship :). Looking forward to the rest of the season...

Started last, was fun ended up in 7th after 1st pits, but then DISCO! :( Well.. better luck next time i guess :p

How do you know if all the drivers are using the same engine?

Very fun race.

Got pasted late by Juan Diego Bar, so I finished 8th. I'm hoping I didn't get passed by 2 year old.

And by the way, the server makes a file that tells all the car details, including engine spec.

Ask Tim directly he will tell you.

Nice job everyone, that was fun. Gotta say thanks to Kent, and Richard Johnstone for some good fun racing there between the 3 of us. (Richard, you didn't have to wave me by during the 2nd stint there, I was looking forward to some fun battling with you there ;) )

Screenshots there are of the 1st stint. Got a good run on Kent going into turn 1, I took the inside line, pushed out to the outside edge of the track on corner exit. Kent braked a little early, cut inside, and we went door to door into turn 2. Good stuff Kent.

Looking forward to the season.

Juan, the race results has the upgrade codes for everyone, Tim checks it after each race.

The XML results file shows each person upgrade code. If it begins with any of the following codes, they are valid. If not, they that person is DQd after the race. Very easy to validate, and yes... unfortunately Tristan IS that stinkin fast

I just tried to focus on too many different series here and elsewhere in one weekend and ended up costing myself in all of em so I'm gonna have to reevaluate by schedule a bit. Nice win Tristan.

Jerry, I saw that we had 7s back to Kent after the first stops, so if we fought for a couple of laps he'd catch up fast and it would be getting very interesting again. I reckoned I could stick with you through the middle stint and then battle it out in the last one. Was really good fun with all three of us searching for a tiny advantage all the way through the first 15 laps though!

Unfortunately after passing a back marker before the hairpin he missed a braking point and totalled me. I limped back to the pits for repairs, didn't do the maths right and had to splash+dash towards the end losing another 2 positions.

"No problem" in advance to the driver in question, mistakes will happen in these long races.

My first FabCar event and not a bad result, however I wasn't to pleased with my driving.

Qualified 4th with easily my best lap in these cars.

Race started and right away I had Conor challenging as we crossed the start finish line. I had read other post race reports from this series and had heard about all the drafting these cars offer, well here at Sebring I got to see a lot of it.

Conor and everyone else for that matter was just killing me in sector 2. For some reason I just kept driving it way to deep into all the right handers and any advantage I was able to gain elsewhere on the track where thrown right out.

Had a nice scrap with Jerry Chen and Richard Johnstone for a good part of the first stint. Had some unfortunate moments in those same slow right handers, one time Jerry got checked up so badly by my slowness that he almost got passed by Richard. Then a few laps later as my tires wore, Jerry caught me and made a nice slipstream pass on the main straight. But I wasn't done yet, I had seen throughout the race that I had my advantage in sector one so I tried to get Jerry to brake as late as possible for T1. Braked extra hard and turned in and drove it inside of him. We had some minor contact but I had the inside for T2 :)

After the stops I found myself behind Jerry and Richard, so I wasn't feeling to good about my performance so far. Starting 4th and now running 6th. The good thing is that I was making up a lot of ground on Richard before he had that get together with the lapped car.

Than a handful of laps later I came upon Jerry missing his nose handing 4th back to me.
