1.5 hours of Mid Ohio

Yet another disco while leading and this time with just 10 laps left. To say I am pissed off is an understatement. Winning the championship is nice and all but right now, I could care less about it. Won't be winning anymore until I find out what the fuck is wrong...

I'd like to start my post-race with an apology to Dennis Cummings, I was trying to make a pass on him in the early stages of the race going into T2. Under braking I went through a dip on the inside of the track I hadn't noticed before and found myself locked up and sliding into Dennis. Sorry mate.

Qual was good, didn't quite hit my PB but I was pleased with 3rd none-the-less. and what a lap from Conor! I can't even begin to understand where his speed comes from.

In the race I let a mixture of inexperience and over-eagerness get the better of me. After spinning out of 3rd on lap 3 I was down the field. I managed to force my way back, getting into various battles with pretty much every driver in front! lol

I had a couple of heart stopping moments about mid-distance when I nearly slammed into the back of Richard Johnstone in T1, I think he had a bobble going in and then spun out on exit.

Then, I had Gary Hendrick run into my side when rejoining the track... I don't think he had intended to re-enter as quickly as he did, in fact it looked more like he slid back on!

In the end I had caught Dennis Morissette and passed him once, before spinning out (sigh) and letting him back through. I caught him again quickly but I needn't have bothered because I needed a splash and dash anyway!

Good racing guys, enjoyed fighting back towards the front, dissapointed that I spun out early on as looking at the lap times I had good pace.

NP Jon, Actually if I known it was you I would of went wide to let you have it instead of fighting for it. You were much quicker than me every session just didnt expect you
to be behind me.

Dam hay bails, on the back strait under braking while adjusting my pit menu, they are anchored down to bedrock.

From my viewpoint you hit and span me Jon, but not to worry. I guess it was a bit of warp.

Apart from that had a really good race, some long fights against Ralph, Barrett and John O, great fun.

My only big mistake came on entering the pits, I looked down at the pit options screen to check if there was any damage to repair from the contact mentioned above...and drove straight into the pit wall at 50mph. Luckily I didn't have far to go to repair the damage!

All in all a great race to end to the Fabcar series, congrats to Conor and Barry.

Hmm, that is strange. Well, apologies for that anyway. I did think it was a bit strange the way you just looped around, but because I didn't pick up any damage or even hear a bang I assumed I missed you. When I looked at the replay there was even a gap... one of the vagueries of the internet I guess.

No worries Jon, you get lag hits from time to time if you're racing close like we were and there's no way I know of to spot it in advance.
