GTx: Donington [Novice]

I think i was like racing in a toilet!
Qualfied with soft wets and complety blew it..
Started with hard wets and would not even get up to race temp.
Pited early cuz i was all over the place and from there just took it easy. And a small bang with Marinko but he waited for me to return back to the track i think, and was very sportsman like (very well judged) Sam was just to fast and far ahead. Congrats sam and to everybody for a great wet race!

Well another rookie mistake, during practice it was flooded, i didnt check the weather for quals and went out on wets and the track was only damp.. so back of the line for me

It was a good race, i got up to 8th with a 1+ min lead on 9th, the early pit worked well esp since with a full load of fuel i had alot more control and tire temps actually got above 50c but as i burned up the fuel the car was all over the place and dropped 2 spots.

On the last lap BrianH and i were seconds apart as he went off track on the last turn, so in T1 i was pretty close, 3 sec maybe, but one of us lagged and i saw Brian stopped in the middle of the track, i braked and ended up in the weeds.

This was my second race, and i had a blast despite the weather, i am hooked for sure

What a drenching! Mike, sorry if I caused you a problem. I don't remember being stopped in the middle of the track close to the end. I will have to take a look at the replay. However, I do remember going off of the track a few times ;) I don't know if I was lagging or not but I did notice a some issues here and there. Never had a problem before. Anyway, still had some fun with my first race in the wet! I went with a full tank hoping that the extra weight would help a bit. It appeared to until it started to burn off. Plus I got hit hard from behind and lost some downforce on the rear.. I made my share of mistakes but still happy with a top 10.

hey Brian no worries, you were not actually stopped, because the second i hit the brakes and started to slide i saw your car warp ahead a few hundred yards. lol i lost my positions before that happened.

So what to say about my first race? ...
It was wet and fun. I qualified 5. Anthony beat me for 1 tenth. Race was very hard. At start somebody bump me and I ended of the track but he waited for me to get back. I worked my way up to the 2nd place. After piting I was 4th. Came out just behind Kinloch but I went off track and lost some time. When I finaly catched up with Kinloch I get to close and because of water I missed my brake point and bump into him. Sorry for that. After that my car was harder to control. I went off track few times losing time and finishing 3th.

Gongrats to Sam for the win. Sorry for the laps where I was racing you (you were lapping me?) I just didn't realize you were the leader - duh! I thought I was racing you for position and was wondering why the blue flag!!! what a dope! lol
Guess it was toward the last part of the race, I intended to follow you to the finish. Would have looked cool with two Vette's crossing together at the line. Didn't want to push you, just wanted to stay close but you overshot the chicane, hope It wasn't because of me following too close.

Was a fun race for me starting from near the back after waiting for Marinko and doing my drive-through. Had a few scary moments out in the monsoon like conditions (which I love and wish there were more races in those conditions!hehe) Sorry Paul H. for the hit as I was trying to pass and just couldn't control the car to keep from hitting you, tried to wait for you but the 5th place car was closing in on me so I had to go.
The closest call I had was when I came to T7(McLean's) with someone hot on my tail. There was a car re-entering the track right at the exit point and I was just barely able to squeeze by, hard on the brakes (it's a lake out there, remember! lol) That really got my hart pumping for a bit.

I usually don't care much for this track, but it's a lot more fun in the wet so was much fun for me today. It was great racing out there boys, cu all at the next one. : )

OMG, if only i didnt screw it in pits (speed limit) i would be first but no. man i am angry on my self i was more than 25seconds in front of second but i screw it. anyway congrats sam moss :S

Congrats to all the participants! A tough and fun race. I wish I haven't done all those mistakes, but I'm pretty happy with my result overall. Some lapped cars were quite aggressive and spiced up things (even more). My 1st race on R2P and my 1st race on rain. As Dan said, I guess the hard part is over :)

Well it was an interesting race for me, first lap 2nd place went off on the far end of circuit, coming back on the track (just one of them things) and i hit them, i pitted anyway as i had abit of damage and was pulling to the left. I put a new set of tyres on, full amount of fuel for the race (i had planned to pit half way at first) and repaired all my damage.

I ended up a lap down coming out of pits, but after a few laps the lead Lambo made a mistake allowing me to get infront and i started putting in some laps trying to be consistent as possible and not pushing too much. In the end it seemed to pay off, slowly moving up the field and by the time i was in 2nd place i saw that the first place lambo (guessing it was Tadej) was over a minute ahead, although i was hoping he had to pit. It just seemed to be a lucky race for me, with Tadey having to pit, and with the pit stops taking so long it seems i managed to end up with a 10 second lead or so when Tadej came out. Unlucky for him he dropped alot of time (guessing the pit speeding?) and i ended up with a minute in hand so i dropped the pace alot and made sure i got to the finish without a blow up this time :)

My first completed wet race in GTR2, and i have to say the Corvette just stuck to the road better than any other car i've driven.

Wow - botched the setup trying to soften up for the rain. I think I went out on hard wet in back and too high of spring/rollbar ratio, I couldn't even stay in it through the first right hard sweeper without rolling and sliding everywhere, but hey, there's usually enough 6 lap quitters to go around!

Grats all finishers. This was a wild race that in a couple days time is all to easily forgotten for me at least, hope nobody's rollin with an AK lookin for "P Hieb" for staying out there and making for 'agressive lapping'. I think I may have screwed up at least a couple times just with the bothersome "That's your first" warning repeating over in my ear, I never see a blue on the screen though, I must have something messed in options.
