1 hour of Fuji

Not sure how i got the dnf.It said 0 when the clock came up i finshed my lap every1 was leaveing and i left came here and said i got a dnf.Any1 help me with this.

Ok another race where I finished were I started, pity it wasn't further towards the front..heh.

At least this time I got to enjoy several laps of dicing for 10th position with Edwin, Zak, Karl, Dwayne & Josh at various times. I got hit up the back on the warm-up lap, pushing me into the car in front, causing minor damage to front & rear bodywork, so I had to live with that for the race.

Having watched the replay it looks like I was running less DF than others and was losing out round the back but could pull away easily on the main straight as long as I got the last corner right. I could probably have held on to that place with a bit of luck, but after my pitstop I threw it away and dropped to 14th with a stupid power oversteer moment coming onto the front straight and another half spin later on. Having not even practiced the track until 2hrs before the race, 13th was about as good as I deserved!

Thanks to whoever it was suggested I use the Barcelona setup from the track page, it worked a lot better than my Essington one..LOL! I really need to stop racing for a while and work on getting to know how to find a decent setup, as at the moment I haven't a clue!

Karl, when the time reaches zero it is the *leader* that finishes the race. You still have to finish the lap that the leader was/is on. Common mistake for timed races...

I would like to bring up the "no chat" rule at this time. Hopefully you all will understand, there is NEVER a reason to chat during the race. Doesn't matter how angry you are or how panicked you are, you simply do not chat. I will be handing out penalties for every line of text I see in future events.

Ken, I used a very low DF setup (2F, 5R). At the start, I was falling behind because even with low DF, I had a setup easy on the tires which required few laps to bring up to temp. Once my tires were up to temp I couldn't believe how fast I caught up with the two guys in front of me on the main straight. In the twisty parts, I would lose some time but would make it all up & more on the main straight.

*Blush* I know that comment about the chat is for me. *Blush* Tim, I owe you and almost everyone involved in this race an apology. I am not a rookie and I know full well the rule about chatting. It is a rule that I GREATLY appreciate because I have the attention span of a gnat and any text in the chat box immediately grabs my attention. That being said, we all know this is racing and this "hobby" jacks our adrenaline up like nobody's business. I had a great setup and a great car and felt great about my chances of running in the top 5. When my little "incident" occurred on the pace lap of all laps, I completely lost my head and broke the no chat rule. Regardless of how angry I was, I had no right to express that anger by breaking a rule. A rules a rule and I got my just punishment. I have no one to blame for my finish but myself. Again, I apologize and appreciate all the professionally run series here a R2P.

Nice Q by Greg, he got into the 31's. My PB was a 31.8 but couldnt do it when it counted. Nice job Greg.

Race start I was right up on greg and drafted down the strait and took the inside to T1. I saw he went a bit wide and people got buy him. I got hit from the back by someone and allmost lost it, but hung on. Had a great battle with Dan B. Nice and clean Dan, shame on the DNF, you were fast in the corners. Peter got by and just left us, and I had nothing for him. Had a great time, its nice running up front in these races, I can only do it in the novice ones though.

One more race for this season, we usually have a great turnout, hope theres another one.

Dennis, sorry about tapping you on lap 1. Thankfully it didn't ruin your race. My setup was very easy on the front tires and I had difficulties getting heat into them on the pace lap.

Ahh, the first race where I almost felt like I knew what I was doing. Many many thanks to Ralph K, who shared a setup and some pointers during a practice session the night before- it probably meant the difference between 16th and 11th for me.

My qualifying was 1.5s off my PB back in 16th. I knew from practice that I was faster than several people in front of me, but I also knew they'd be prone to mistakes (not that I'm not) so I hoped to be patient and smooth in the early going..well, close enough. Things were pretty crowded back there, we had the usual mix of mid-to-backmarkers like me plus the standard 2 or 3 fast guys who fouled up lap one, but everyone kept it pretty clean.

Lap 7 or 8 I made a brilliant pass to move from 13th to 10th going into the hair-chicane. I celebrated by doing a little-half donut two turns later, dropping back to 14th, later 15th as a faster driver recovered from a drive-thru. With the track to myself I ran some really solid laps up to the pit cycle, stopped a lap or two ahead of the rest, and made my way all the way back to 10th when the cycle was over. Karl came by and put me to 11th, but still a great run. Had some really good clean battles with Ken and Zak, Zak spun inside of me in turn 1. I stayed as wide as I could and I don't think there was contact, I forgot to check the replay. Hope it wasn't my fault.

Great race for me. Well done to Peter and Dennis and especially to my new best friend (big, big smile) Alex Fed. We had a great dice for about the last 10 laps or so. I used a somewhat compromise downforce setup but had more speed on the straights while Alex was faster on the twisty bits. It made for a very interesting race.
Several times we came upon other cars just at the final uphill turns where Alex would always close up and every one gave us room as we were usually nose to tail at that point. Thanks guys!
I too had a setup that was very easy on the tires as I could run a full fuel run on one set, although the LF was very close toward the end.

Just an aside, I had to almost race on the pace lap to maintain my starting position as the car who qualified behind me kept pulling ahead of me. These races have a SINGLE FILE rolling start please.

Now if I could only run this well against the regular Fabcar crew.
