Well a look a the pictures show where my race effectively ended.

Probably the biggest shunt in a Shark event to date, but not blaming anyone really, Jonty caught some air onto the straight as is the way of the track, contact ensued with John and all hell broke loose from there.

At least six involved in this racing incident but not much could be done to avoid it.

Seemed like a great battle up front throughout though, on what proved to be (which is why it was picked) technically a quite difficult track, but hey it would be boring if it was always easy :-]

Well done to the finisher and commiserations to those not so well off. Be safe in the knowledge although fun, I can't foresee that track being suitable for F3's next season!

Wow, lap 1 big crash at the last corner was a total race-finisher for many of us. Sorry to Nick for hitting him, it was unavoidable for me after the crash in-air of the two guys up front --did the Aquarium wanted to join the Zoo? :)

I lost my front wing when hitting the wall after punting Nick, so my pitstop was 137 secs. (Kimi Raikkonen gets it changed much faster, I have to say) what put me 3 laps down, so I had to struggle to keep it on track till the end of the race as I had to leave all the fast guys lap me once and again. In the end I got a 12th, not bad after leaving pits on 17th place.

Again, wrong place at the wrong time, as was everyone behind.

Approaching that bump on the straight with John alongside, I was praying John would give me room knowing that bump throws you slightly sideways. Knew I couldn't back off because that would whip my back into him, couldn't change my line at this stage as that too would have whipped the back over whilst airborne.

When I mysteriously spun whilst airborne, I shouted 'give me room!'. But I had a look at the replay and saw that John wouldn't have been able to seen how close we were either. But the distance should have been ok. Unfortunately John's line and setup made him oversteer in the air, and mine made me centrifugally shift, and the gap disappeared. So I take my shout back in case you heard it from 10,000 miles away.

Sustained major damage but couldn't handle seemingly endless bad lack so I just ran the rest of the race a lot off pace.

Great time with Neil - just couldn't get past him, until Keiron came through and I sneakily followed. Then rest of the race just had to run faster than Neil as the car ahead was lapping 1-2 seconds quicker.

Feels bad to end the race of some of those behind, including my team mate - just nothing either of us could do sorry.

btw Nick, we both got air, both angled in towards each other - if anything it was other car's airborne oversteer that made the contact. Although your post said there was no blame 'really', it did suggest I solely caused it.

Grats to Kieron I got a ok start with Dave on my gearbox early on

Then was able to pull a away a bit each lap from Steve

Kieron was getting away from me until he encountered some guys struggling with damaged cars I think which let me catch up

With a 1.5 second gap I tried to apply pressure and managed to finish less than half a second from Kieron but he made no mistakes so well done again Kieron

Had a good run in qualifying & was happy to start 5th.As the flag dropped managed to pick up a couple of spots & was running comfortably in 3rd till about the half way mark when Mr Zeljko,who had been catching me,went by down the front straight.From that point on tried to apply some pressure to him to see if he would make a mistake but he didn't & pulled a slight gap on me-well done,so was pleased to finish in 4th.

My first podium finish at R2P, ever. And even better I made it from the last starting position. Really great race for me. Started very carefully cause I know that people at the back don't care too much. Gained few positions in first lap and than saw that mess at front straight. There was so much smoke i couldn't see the track. Somehow I managed to find a safe passage trough and I think moved to 5th or 6 th position.
After that had an empty track in front and kept the pace at low 54s for couple laps. I had Steve Davis in sight but tires didn't offer much grip at the time so it was very hard to catch him. He had few problems with lapped cars and, finally, I could see his gearbox. I was looking at it for 2 laps and he made small mistake on the exit of that tricky T3 and I took podium from him. He applied a pressure for a lap or two but I managed to keep my pace and took the car safely to checkered flag.
Best thing is that I finished the race without any kind of damage on my car. That really is a success starting from the back on this tricky track.

Racing incident, no penalties.

Very happy with 8th place to get my first points of the season. Didn't really have to do much to get it, other than avoid the carnage at the end of the first lap. Had one off after a few laps when someone removed my braking point (the 100m barrier) for T1 and I started braking at 50m instead! Of course, I didn't realise that was the reason for my off until the next time round. Was quite relieved, to be honest, as I had been wondering how I could have messed up so spectacularly.

Tough little track, but started to enjoy it after a while...

Fun race, but it was bloody hard work.

Was at the top of the time sheets all the way through free practice, that doesn't mean much but it told me I might be in with a shot of something in this race.

Grabbed pole in qualiy but it was mighty close as Barney was within a couple of tenths.

Got away well and held the lead into T1. Started to pull away from Barney a little after a couple of laps, and by around lap 10 the gap was something like 3 seconds. Started to relax and just tried to get in a nice rythem, but then I spotted a couple of cars in the distance so I knew we were coming up to lap a few guys.

The guys did a great job of letting us through but you always loose a little time so Barney was able to close the gap. So from then on he was pretty much within a second behind me. I was sweating and nervous as hell at this point as I was on the verge of getting my 1st win of the series, but there was still half of the race to go.

Tried my best to concentrate on the road ahead instead of the gap to Barney but it was pretty hard to not peek in the mirrors from time to time. But in the end I was able to hold it all together, a couple of "uh oh" moments but I was able to keep the car on the black stuff and get that first Win in a Shark series.

Thanks to Barney for pushing me the whole bloody way :), was hoping he might make a little mistake and give me some breathing room but he made me suffer all the way :). And grats to Stjepanovic for his first podium :). And thanks again to all the guys who let us past.

I nearly got Barney off your tail btw Keiron. The first time you passed me, I tailed you past Neil whom I was having trouble passing.

The next time you came around, I thought Neil was going to pass me in the same way, and was not going to allow it. Only saw it was Barney at the last moment.
