ARCA fun-run

Well that stunk. I got the mighty performance boot. I did look it up and it is some kind of server setting. The post wasn't specific to what it was.

I was pretty happy to get the pole. As you saw on the start of the race my car was not bullet right away. I was hoping to show off it's long run performance but didn't get the chance. The poor old thing would run 30.1's forever. I was planning on being somewhere around the podium when I was done, not on lap 9.

Hope everyone else faired better than I did.

I got the performance boot around lap 20... Wasn't such a huge deal for me, though, I had to take evasive action to avoid Larry when he got sideways and I tagged the wall hard, car had a nasty push after that.

Also, I think there should be penalties for competitors lagging way behind the car in front of them during a restart, then deliberately not accelerating and staying next to the wall to impede cars behind them.

Well that was pretty much boring for me. I could not find any speed in the corners and was pretty slow. I am somewhat used to that by now though. Anyway just minded my own business and tried my best to stay out of the way. Sorry Larry for not moving high toward the end of the race. I had no idea you were that close and then next time I looked up you were all over my bumper. I guess I just wasn't paying attention.

Got the boot right as the green flag came out. Race over before I even got to the line. :(

Had a good race going, was gaining on 5th around lap 50 or so and then.............the performance boot. lol. Oh well, it was still fun and at least it was just an exhibition race. l8tr

First race for me and it turned out to be pretty fun. Had no natural speed in practice until the very end when I found some. Got a good lap in for qual and started 3rd. The car was great in the first few laps of each stint but after a while, it would get pretty tight. While I can drive a fairly loose car, I can never drive a fairly tight car. It drives me crazy and it hurt me bad in the middle portion of the race. On the long green flag run we had, I pitted much earlier than everyone else because the car ridiculously tight and I was losing positions left and right. Little did I know that pitting that early would help me because I was able to gain ground on the leaders on fresh rubber and after some adjustments in the pits, the car lasted longer over a run which helped me stay up in the standings. Finished 3rd, which was darn lucky for me due to a lot of guys having those performance errors. My car probably wasn't even a top 5 car tonight.

Up until the time I ESC'd out of the race, I was not too impressed with the game.

The car was almost impossible to drive in a straight line with massive amounts of wheel input needed just to keep the car from wandering all over the place.
Well, by mid point, I was totally exhausted and sore from all the effort to keep the car on the track (unsuccessfully with many hard hits to the wall).

After barely getting out of my sim-cockpit, I realized I was a lot sicker than I thought when I started the race. Well, at least I had an excuse for my terrible performance (oops, theres that "performance" word again! LoL)

To whoever won, congrats to you and the rest of the finishers! : )

A special congrats to the SCM head honcho, Conor, on your hard earned 3rd - way to go!

Dan you definitely have wheel issues if you have a wondering problem or need to use that much wheel. Whether it be settings or what that was the biggest bitch about rFactor stock car mods. TSF fixed that for sure. I know running a high speed sensitivity was common in TPSCC (although I hated anything above 0) so maybe you brought that over to Arca. Not sure but play with your settings something isn't right there.

I settled in about a half a second behind the leader and just couldn't get any closer. I tried everything. Different line, drove it in deeper, rolled out sooner, more brake less brake but nothing let me get closer than about .5 second. Then we had the pit stop and I thought I did good coming in and getting out but the leader did it better buy 4 seconds lol. What ever changes he made to his car where the right ones because he just continued to put time on me after that. I feel real bad for the guys who got dropped. Out of all the bugs this sim has the performance boot bug needs attention the most. Nothing like putting in time practicing just to get a boot for nothing. Other than that fun fun race. Congratulations Reddawg. Use your real name next time :)
