FN: Cleveland

Quali was better than expected considering my first laps were 10 minutes prior to it.

I was taken out pretty hard in the first corner by what seemed to be the whole field, and I worked my way back up, and fell back, and back up, and fell back, so on and so on until I finally made it past Tom for 3rd and held the car straight for the last 5 laps to hold on to the last podium spot.

Congrats Heinz on the win.

Also, I'm very sorry to John Barbour for the side-by-side contact we made in the last corner (not the chicane). You were rejoining and I was going inside, I'm not sure if you saw me, and I didn't see the replay. But I'll take the blame for it.

that race was a mess for me. i had a good race pace but i was constantly stuck behind people and its very difficult to pass on that track. especially with my high downforce setup. my biggest mistake resulted when i finally got free of the slow pack and was trying to catch the fast pack...i slammed into the wall and lost my rear wing. i fixed it in the pits but after that my race was over. there's always next week though i guess. congrats to heinz on a flawless race.

and tom, i remember that incident. it was probably my fault if it was anyone's. i was too hasty getting back on track.

its so easy to get into trouble on that track because some of the corners have very wide approaches and there are so many different lines you can take. its very difficult to drive close to one another.

First off Scott, no apology on your part is needed, I had to slow down to avoid running into the guy in front of me (he slowed way more then expected) and your really had no where to go or anything else you could have done. Besides, I just watched the replay and I owe YOU an apology, running you off the road right before that! Was not intentional for sure, was trying to look down into the corner and did not see you beside me.

I also noticed some more contact with others, all of which was my fault. Geeze, don't know what is going on with me today but I promise I won't make it a habit :)

Anyway, what a bad race for me. I think I hit the correct line all the way around once. I could not pull anything together in q either, even though yesterday I was running low 59's.

Just never got into a rhythm.

As far as the track sucking I disagree. It's a technical track for sure and it will make you pay for cutting corners. The one glitch is the wall the caught out JR though, that needs to be fixed...

I was in practice yesterday with Jimmy and he was pretty quick, and i wasn't expecting to be qualifying for pole come tonights race.

Then in quali, i put down this stonking lap and pulled a 58,8... thought the game got it wrong, but all the laps are so quick, you just have to hit the nail on the head once, and you got a good lap, didnt take alot of effort to be consistant, once i learned the track it was easy to get around safely...

I was panicking at the start a little because the call to grid is like 10 seconds, and i stressed that i hadn't loaded my race setup, and had no time to double check, then the light countdown was silent ..

T1 I really braked late, had not practiced the length from start line to T1 brake zone, and it caught me out, almost lost P1 in T1 but kept it, and then pulled a nice size lead ..

Yeah definately sorry Jimmy. I waited for you to get back going before i moved on. But i didn't serve a penalty because i thought i read that in this series if you punt someone wait for them, and if they need repairs then you go to pits with them. But went and tried to get clarification and it didn't say much. So i think i had mistaken it for the other Monday night indy chapter. So if a penalty needs to be handed down to me i'm ok with it. Had a battle back kind of race. After i spun Jimmy i found myself dead last. Knew i was screwed. But just kept going and snagged a few points out of it. I enjoy these cars alot, but hated that track. Just seemed kind of boring with more straights than anything. Congrats to Heinz for the victory.

For the record I don't feel like Scott punted me, he did not enter the turn too hot, or make a mistake that put him into me, it was just a racing incident, no penalty needed IMHO.

i spun 3 times on the final bend ont he track...that chicane 2nd apex needs to be revamped !!!

ah well, ill get the rest of you next time, but not Heinz....he was clearly too good

Thanks Jimmy I appreciate that. Never punted anyone on the first lap, or had a penalty before. Just felt bad about it. I had a rough time with the track. Didn't get any practice before last night. So was rather unprepared. But still had fun and managed a few points. So it's all good to me! Again thanks Jimmy. Really didn't mean it.
