Apologies for the slightly abbreviated race time- I could have sworn I checked that on this track. Maybe I just didn't notice because it was only a little off.

Qual'd ok, a bit sloppy and nowhere near my pb. I started behind a couple of Elites, Sheldon and Les IIRC, and promptly blew past them on the straight at the start. Those 5 points had to be good for something :) Almost hung with Mark and Mike for a little while, but it didn't take them long to pull away, and I was all by myself in third for quite some time. Eventually a combination of tire wear and some wandering attention took its toll on me and Les steadily reeled me in, well done Les! Held it together for 4th from there with no serious mishaps.

Looked like everybody did ok with the rolling start, nice job all.

I give all the credit to the Elite. Probably need a new rental cost on that one. :)
Mark was fighting behind me but I kept inching away. I think the TR4 might be theoretically faster, but the Elite is a lot easier to drive and easier on tires. All that suspension travel really helps on a track like VIR with lots of curbs and elevation changes.

LOL, I dunno Mike, there were a lot of other Elites out there and none of them did what yours did. I think it might be more than just the car :)

I turned a few laps in practice but P&G locked-up on me when we switched to the "Qualifying 2" session -- I rebooted my system and tried to re-join, but the steaming pile of netcode called GTR2 only lets you join during practice sessions, so I was essentially screwed out of even getting a "DNF."

Congrats to Mike -- the setup for the Elite that you uploaded was sweet indeed, and it allowed me to break into the 1:55.xxx range at VIR North. Good stuff, too bad I wasn't able to join you guys.

Hopefully next week will be more fruitful.

well tonight;s race was a perfect example of what happens when you don't practice at least a few laps first.....lol.i have had a busy, hetic week an didn't get any practice in, ran a few laps last week an kept blowing the engine on the lotus. i am starting a new job tomorrow, don't have any idea of what schedule i will be working.but hopefully i'll be able to make the rest of the races

It was an ok race for me. I didn't practice my car because I forgot about having only 5 rental points to start, and practiced with an Alfa Jr.! So I just had a few minutes before the race to practice.

I got a crappy start because I was in the wrong gear, and wasn't sure when we were going to go green - I thought it was at the start finish line, but it seems to be at the end of the last turn.

Anyway, I would have finished 6th if Sheldon didn't spin in front of me and give me 5th. Thanks Shel! The Elite is a pretty sweet car for 1 rental point!

First off I have to say I'm sorry to Les for the spin I caused early in the race. I thought I had enough room between us but there must have been some lag cause before I knew it I had knocked you around. My gain was short lived as I dipped it off on the final turn.

I totally messed up the start thinking the race would begin over the start finish and forgot about the race going green at the turn. Anyway I think I was in 4th gear and the little elite just didn't have the grunt to regain the speed and i lost two places on the start putting me into 5th from 3rd. I was running well a little over a second behind Mike and Les and had some strange sync message as I was taking a turn which sent me off track. After a couple more offs I ended up 6th kind of disappointed as I thought I could have challenged for 3rd place.

Btw Jason that's the first and last gift for the season for you! :)

Oh the misery!!!! I was practicing and turning laps in the 53 sec range. I had a few 52's thrown in. I switched to my qual setup and the nightmare began. I couldn't keep the abarth on the road. I qual'd in 8th place 2 sec slower than what I was practicing at.
Rolling start went very well. On corner #3 I proceeded to put 2 tires into the dirt and slide off into the grass. 15th place pulling out of grass. Time for catchup mode. I figured if I could run 53's I could make top 5 by race end. HAHAHAHAHAHA After 3-4 laps, My car was so loose I could barely keep up with the sliding. It finally caught up with me. I caught Andrew and BArrett and proceeded to loop it about 4-5 times in the next 10 laps.
Man did I get caught out with the abarth setup here. Oh well. At least I have a crap load of points for my sponsored race!!!!!

Well done Mike, and Les!

I didn't have much time to prep for this event. I took a quick look at rental poits for the TR4 and just took it. I should have looked at the Elite :-(. Doubt i would have finished on the podium, but it would have saved me a few rental points.

Q: Was good for me, ran my pb and on my 2nd flying lap i thought i might be able to out do my first. Before coming down the hill, that left hander got me, dipped a tire and the car rolled over..lol Odd that happend, but funny none the less. :-)

Race started great for me, but i wasn't sure if it was ok to pass someone before the s/f line? So i backed off and let Mike keep the lead. After that Mike was smooth and just pulled away lap after lap. I had a couple off's while pushing hard, and that's not the fast way around any track.. :-)

I practiced earlier in the week with the cortina and it wasnt until race day i notice you only start with 5 points so since the cortina is 5 points which would leave me with next none rental points i decided to use the elise after a quick two laps in the mini which i couldnt drive at all.Download my Team mates setup for the elise and mikes setups work well for me since i am somewhat clueless when it comes to setting up a car . Thanks Mike.
Also no problem Sheldon i was a little slow at the start kinda of holding some guys up but as the race went on i felt more comfortable and drove faster.
