GTR2 fun-run

First two laps reminded sooo much like a generic Lobby race. 1st stint a bit slippery but soft fronts for 2nd stint worked nicely.

I started from the back. I coudn't qualify.
The car was good, although I had never tried medium tyres.
I was 6 before the first pitstop. I came in, and...
no mechanics :( there weren't my mechanics!
So I made another lap and I lose a lot of times.

The second stint was very good, better than the first one.
I made good times; that's very good.

Uhh... Anyone else with warp problems, or it was just me? As for the race - OMG I was a total crap. I had a contact with Johan at the last turn - sorry Johan, I knew you were around but I didnt saw you in the mirrors when you took the inside line. My bad, hope I didnt damaged you.
I was warned for cutting the track, and since this is the second time ever I play GTR, I'm curious (I'm not questioning it) - did you issued the warning Tim, or it was the game.

No worries, Ruslan. I thought you drifted a bit off the line so I took inside line and we had a small contact as result.

I believe your warning was given by the game as I saw nothing on my screen.

I made three mistakes:
1. came home late and was psychically unprepared
2. braked hard in the first lap, I was afraid I'd punt Borut

Worked my way up again and

3. put 10 litres too much fuel at the pitstop

Lost the time I had (tried to) gain on the track but the timer was faster.

Good race everybody, including the other class car drivers.
Too bad for a low turnout.

Claudio, make sure to 'request' your pit stop at least half a lap before stopping. If not, the crew may not be ready, or another car may already be in your space!
Fairly uneventful race for me, except the heart-stopping moment when Denis cartwheeled right in front of me over the 'yump'
Grats to Borut and to everyone who bothered to turn up. Many more low turnouts and us Euro guys won't have any series left to race in :(

As I am new to online racing I have a quistion about what happend to me during the race. I had a normal start but later on got a stop and go penalty. Don't know why, I don't think I touched anyone. I did do 3 x incar chat text and recieved a warning for that. So as I am still learing the quistion is: Can a driver get a stop and go for chat text during the race?

No, John, I don't think so. You must have cut the track somewhere. A good guess would be the last uphill right corner (sorry, couldn't find the name of it). It's easy to be thrown off the proper track, get a warning while staying on tarmac. If the cutting is a major one you can instantly get a stop/go, without 3 cuttings - like in Monza if you go past the first chicane.
The stop/go must have been generated by the game engine, I don't think moderators can force a stop/go penalty in the game.

Hi Tom, thanks for the reply. All the time I thought it was done by a moderator. Thats a helpfull tip. I'll watch the replay then. I ques I missed something.
As I got the stop and go in the first few laps I was already running deadlast and ca. 40 seconds behind. That's a bit mutch for a 60 min. race as most of the drivers where turning out 1.35.xx laps. So I decided to stop and try my luck next time.

IMO it was wrong decision to quit. It's not about luck but biting the lip and continuing no matter what. Hell, I was punted off track on 2nd lap but I chose to continue. I understand your decision but now you lost a chance to gather experience about racing in traffic and pit stopping etc.

Generally to all for future: no chat means no "Entering pits", "Exiting pits", "Go left", "Go right", "Go home", "Sorry", "My wife/GF does not understand me" etc. messages. None, nada, zero, zilch. And no gratulations before each and all drivers have finished. Capisce tutti?
