IRL: Indianapolis 250

After loosing a bunch of time with yellow coming out while I was in pits, I ran out of gas because pit stop refused to fuel car... not sure why. Great series, great time. Sorry to whomever I had contact with on track, not sure who but it was not intentional

in your setup garage you can schedule your first 3 pitstops after that you have to go into your pit menu and bump up the fuel to what you want. otherwise it will only put in 1.1 gal of fuel.

Fun race guys. Congrats to podium. Sorry if you were on Teamspeak and had to hear my fan in the back ground. My air went out and this place gets really hot during the day. I was sweating like a pig the entire race. I felt like I was really in a car. Anyway had a lot of fun racing. I was by myself most of the race but I love running laps around Indy. I have never figured out the corners here though. About the fuel, Dan is correct. I will be posting a sticky on the chapter page but it will be in the morning. Need to go cool off.

That race was a blast, how intense is this oval business anyway!? One wrong blink and it's all over.

The fuel issue caught me too, and I was in the pit getting No Fuel when the yellow came out. I was able to get back in under yellow and get a tankful, and as it turned out finished the same. But that yellow cost me a lap and probably 2 places.

I'm thrilled to have gone 96 laps and still have a nose cone. Things got pretty crazy after the last restart. Greg, William, and I were all on the same lap and together coming out of turn two, but then had 2 or 3 lead lap cars coming through. In the span of about 2 seconds and 20 yards, William lifted, Greg hit the wall, I hit Greg and then the wall, Scott Thrasher ran out of gas, and Anthony James got through it all without hitting anyone. Miraculous.

Had a great battle with Scott B. during the middle portion. I assume he had something broken because he shouldn't have been anywhere near me, but we raced nose to tail for a good 15 laps and he managed to avoid me taking him out, which was nice. Could have kept the battle going if I hadn't gotten caught by the yellow.

Nice, if bold sometimes, passes by leaders. Some of you have too much faith in my ability to hold a high line through turn 4 though...congrats to the podium and all the finishers.

Yeah Josh i had major front end damage. I just didn't want to hold you up. Hope i didn't. I had one issue with this race. I just don't understand why in the first laps of the race guys instead of falling in line and drafting, guys were weaving and acting like they don't want you to draft with them??? Where are you going to go alone? It was incredible they way they were shaking guys off and just weaving a blanket back there. I receivd damage onlap 2 or 3 because of this. I tagged the wall trying not to get hit by weavers. You're not going to win it by yourself. Granted i more than likely would have damaged myself at some point, but it's just the point that angered me. Just glad i hung in there and picked up a slacker 10th place. After the beginning it was rather clean racing which i applaud.

Really fun race. Wanted to thank William Mize and Scott Thrasher for putting this series together, it rocks.

Had my chance for a podium and kind of dropped the ball.

As to my Qualifying technique. I turned 2 timed laps and then escaped after crossing the line. Then went out and turned 2 more timed laps. I took advantage of the wording in the rules.

Rule --
7. Qual will be set to 10 minutes. Private qual with the best lap of 4 laps. This has to be done manually so please only do 4 timed laps. If it becomes a problem with people doing more than 4 timed laps we will make it a penalty.

Please define the rule. Don't really care either way. It should be posted in 3 places. In this post race, the prerace for each race and the Notes and Rules for the Series.

Start and restarts should be defined also. I'm a terrible restarter, people should be able to take advantage of me.

After my 2nd place last week I had high hopes. Not for a win, but for a top5 at least. Hanging in, biding my time, I just wanted David Friedley in my sights for the championship. I was conserving fuel, hoping for a late yellow, but just when I was coming in-- in the chute between 3 and 4-- I got a flat tire. I managed to control the car but had to slow down dramatically and before I knew it (just as I had almost made it..almost)there was a big hit, sky, asphalt,sky, bang, dirt in my mouth and I was done. So few laps from the end. Sorry if my accident got in anyone's way. I hate it, hate it, but also realize that's just racing. Things happen. A quick check in the infield medical center proved I was okay if delusional, except for my points having all ended up in the trash bin.

Ya, that mess up in front of me left me nowhere to go, right into Denine's wingless,spinning car. Luckily the yellow came out, during which I hit my pit menu and made sure repairs were going to be done and FILL THE TANK. But as I left the pits, I noticed I had no fuel added. I know I set it before I hit pitroad, but the pit menu does pop up as you cross the pit entrance, so maybe it resets the menu and wipes out any changes you made to it prior to entering pitroad? I dunno. Dropped me to 12th. Dunno how I managed to squeek out another position. Pritchard had to have a problem too. Was alot of fun, but somehow I just didnt have the raw speed I seemed to have at the 500. Everyone must have been tweaking those setups, I should have tried some other things in practice instead of just running my 500 setup. Grats to Dan and the podium.

I had a very good car and was running pretty well when I came up on a slower car who could not hold his line. Just as I tried to go around him he changed lanes right into me and took me out of the race in a blink of an eye. No mention of it in post race either. I`ll get over it.
