IRL: Fort Worth 150

First, I need to apologize for my "stfu" comment under caution. I let my frustration with all of the other chat get the best of me, and then I go off and speak out too. Hypocritical and not cool. I'm really sorry. If the stop/go penalty that I got right after the restart was for that, then I deserved it.

I think we really need to get rid of race back to the green. It seems like not everyone is doing it, PLUS on one caution, there was a car stopped in the middle of the track right after S/F. I was behind about 4 cars, and when we got to the line, and they all swerved to avoid it, I had no where to go and smashed into him. Not even sure who it was, but I'm sure it ended his race and sent me to the pits for a LONG pit stop.

Lag was also HORRIBLE for a ton of cars. I think that's the main reason for all of the yellows.

Finally, in the end, I had a great race with Dennis for 12th place. I think we passed each other 3 times in the last 3 laps before the final caution. I probably beat you back to the line by inches.

Well, this was by far a perfect race. I threw up my server which made the lag problems, but I wanted to race and so did you. I got caught by several penalties, the final one DQ got me. Crap happens. The only thing I don't like was all of the negative comments during the race. You know who you are and who made them. If you don't like the racing, don't race.

I threw my server up, we all knew it was going to have problems, we all agreed to make it official, that was the agreement. Sorry 2 people didn't like it.

Sad to see my hope of staying out and trying to lead the last half of the race, failed. Timed the caution wrong.

2nd to apologize if I was responsibility for the extended caution at the end of the race. Cars came to a stop and I down shifted to 1st and stepped on the gas and the rear end took off. If anyone knows for sure that I did not cause this please let us know.

That was one of the strangest races I've seen so far. Lots of lag, a few crashes because of it, and tons of confusion on the yellows. A certain someone sideswiped me on the backstretch, causing me to flip, land on my head, and somehow escape with the rear wing still intact.

From there, I was a little off pace but stayed out of trouble and hung on to the lead lap- one yellow came out with the leaders 5-6 sec off my tail.

Late in the race, I'm running right on Anthony James' tail when he gets taken out in what looked like a lag crash. I t-boned him hard, figured we were both toast, but sure enough I'm down just the front wing and he's limping around behind me. We pit and take the last restart nose to tail. He get by but I can keep up in the draft, and we wind up in a 4 car battle with 2 cars who are off the lead lap. Not sure what that was about, but ok, no harm done. When the last yellow came out we had almost a full lap to run, and I managed to use a bit of a screen to get by for what wound up to be 5th place after everything shook out.

By far my best real finish in 6 weeks of racing here, even if it was with a lot of luck, I'll take it. And for the record, I'm in favor of freezing at the yellow flag instead of racing back to the line. Too many races ended or almost ended because of it.

Terrible race. Started out great on the front row and just drafted with Anthony James for a bit. Went to the outside on the backstrech to get by him not 30 laps in and he lagged into me. Went on for a wild ride after that and got the car pretty dinged up. The entire incident was just part of the poor situation we were put in with all the lag. Not much we could do about it. Tried to get things settled and back in the game after the crash but once I got onto the front straight, I spun again and collected I think Quattrocchi. Very sorry bout that :(

Kept it in the game but went a lap down to fix the damage. Spent most of the race trying to get that lap back but only fell back even more due to an untimely caution after a green flag stop. Finally finished in 11th which is much better than what I would have gotten if I just gave up. Definitely not good enough though, that's for sure.

That was an intense and fun race. Sure there was a little lag but not worth complaining about. I just adjusted how close I was to the car in front of me and or moved offset to the line they were on and it worked fine. Still though I had plenty of hair raising moments just like you would expect in an Indy car race. I agree with no racing back to yellow, it really is much safer. Racing back to yellow and slowing suddenly after crossing the line was as hairy and scary as it got out there for sure. I Spun it once jumping on the brakes hard trying to slow all the while hoping I didn`t get plowed from behind.
As far as I know I had a clean run which is always my number one objective. I was expecting a crash would collect me every lap but it never did.
I do like Texas Motor Speedway as it is the closest track to where I live( Kansas?) in Oklahoma.
Congrats Dan, great to see you win it for Hannah.
Also, props to David Fridley for an awesome setup. His setup allowed me to show up without a single lap of practice and run in the top five. That`s just awesome when you have guys like David as teammates that are willing to help you out like that. Thanks David.

First, thank you for JR for the server. I had a horrible car (no setup) and I was fairly slow, but I could run decently in traffic and hug the low line. That and pit strategy (and some ol'fashioned luck) got me a 4th place,now I am glad I lost the vote on keeping the race official! I had voted No, I think with Tom Rue, because there was too much confusion but I accepted the will of the majority and now I am happy about it! lol.
Two points: first, I beg the Owners Of The Independent Chapter to impose severe penalties on chats during the race. Things are happening very fast with these cars and to be constantly distracted by the whining is dangerous and risks others' races and championships (having said that: Greg that was very gentlemanly to apologize and admit to that, thank you). Second point, agreeing with Greg: the field should freeze immediately when the yellow comes up. There was all sorts of crazy stuff going on with "racing" to the line.

Sorry guys I have not had a chance to read everything on here yet. You know work gets in the way sometimes. But I wanted to make a couple of points. First, I am sorry about the server issues last night. I wish there was something I could have done but I did all I could. Second, Chat during the race is uncalled for. It is in the Race2Play rules and if you have not read those rules you need to cancel all your races until you do read those rules. Also you need to read the rules for the chapter also. Third, me and Scott have talked about it and we are changing the caution rule to not racing back to the caution.

Also wanted to say I was sorry for my computer crapping out on me. I wished there was something I could have done about it but it just did not want to work last night.
