GT4: Oschersleben

Well that was a hectic start to say the least a bit of argy bargy for the first couple of laps.

So I just waited for everyone to crash and then carried on. I had a bit of a tussle with Nick for a few laps but I let him go after a while cause I felt sorry for him ;)

My N/S/F tyre was like a lava rock but it didn't seem to mind so neither did I.

Lets hope the next race is full of Kamikaze's :D

The start was like a demolition derby. I got hit up the rear big time (not his fault as he didn't have time to react having watched the replay) after first corner whilst avoiding an accident with cars on track in front of me (one speared across the track and I had to brake) - afterwards the car drove like a crab!! So I was pitting anyway. Corner before pit entry Nelson Lira braked in front of me quite early and I braked but tapped him (apologies) - then a guy went into back of me (he had similar limited time to react) and spun me again. Pitted. In pits, accidentally (pressure) didn't remove fuel refill - removed replacement tyres, so nearly 50 secs in pit, nearly 7 seconds of repair damage, but now had 99 litres of fuel on board!!! Was lapped when I came out the pits - up to P12 lapped me, and I'd only done 1 lap!!! But I stuck at it - unlapped myself to P9 I think (or P8) - but leader flew by so was still two laps down to leader and 1 lap down to guys in front of me re P8 ish. I got within 8 seconds of real P15 - finished P16. Best of 1m05.9?? with such a heavy fuel load - most of laps were low 1m06's. It was an experience and I'll learn from that. Finished race with around 70 plus litres of fuel left onboard!! Enough to do another 1 hour plus!! Had fun, which was the main thing. But having to pit on such a short track, and the fuel issue - it was never going to happen!!

Are there any tips on how to avoid server disconnections? never had one before but on lap 1 turn 1 i lost connection, i just want to avoid too many repeats of that happening.

Andy,that may have been me.I got a good jump at the start but the car in front didn't,causing me to prop.Lost a few places going into t1 then and on high alert trying to watch the cars in front and the rear and the side,lol.Then coming out of the right hander the car in front stopped,i don't think i even had time to hit the brake,srry if it was me.

Yep was a bit mental at the start to say the least, cars seemed to be going off all over, and from my PoV a bit of stuttering didnt help either.

Once it settled down it was good fun, with some good battles along the way.

Chris - felt sorry for me HAHA! Thought it was me monstering your boot that pressured you off :-]

Good fun for an unexpected outing.

Nick it's was just like towing my caravan when I go on me hols :D

Barry - wasn't you - checked replay it was Nuno Areias (he finished 8th). Noticed I finished 1 lap and 4 second behind him at the end. Mmmm - could have had a good result here I think. Quite happy with that - only 2 hours praccy before - and 4:30am wake up call to go racing at 5am. The joys of being in Australia you see. LOL

After Christi Rus problems, i thought myself, well this will be a boring race now... I drove first few laps very slow so i could see joco behind me and maybe we fight a bit... but then even he discoed and i was all alone :( Could be doing 1:03.7s all race from then on... but

Should of started from back and have an interesting race. Lapping was fun! :)

I am very much of the Top Gear / Braniac persuasion in terms of them.

qualified 3rd for my first race @ R2p i was looking strong for the race....until a disconnection at turn 1 in the race :(
