GT4: Oschersleben

Great i was with 12 second lead and 3 min to the end i lost the connection :( oh well at least i am very happpy with my race pace as i was able to go under 1.04 with almost evry lap but at the end the result is what matters.

Congrats to Mike on a fine win, and Gregg and Rob for the podiums. I must apologize to Robert for the spin early.
I did okay with qualifying, 8th, but turn 1 was a disaster. Too much gas on cold tires and I was at the rear. Was fun coming back up thru the field though. Had some great laps with John Mueller and Kent Welker. Was running behind Kris Trott and Kent was on my ass, so I was a little aggressive with you Kris, (sorry man) but Kent was gaining all the time. I needed to get by to stay ahead but to no avail, Kent got by. Looked like a lot of bumping throughout the field tonight. So I'm happy with 8th. Thanks for all the fun tonight guys, and sorry again to Kris & Robert for being a little too aggressive. See ya all next time.

I must say that I'm pretty impressed. This was my first race with R2P and everything from signing up to that "you failed to score any points" voice over my speakers; it went very well and i had fun.
I was one of the slowest but I figured that coming in. I just tried to stay consistent and not outbrake myself or push anyone off. After watching the replay I think I let all you fast guys get by me without too much trouble.
I got an excellent start and made up one spot off the line. I knew to brake a bit early and light going into turn one and got through cleanly passing a few spinners to gain a few more spots. After another spin up ahead i gained another spot on the backside of the track and was up to 10th I think from 17th on the grid. From then on it was 1:06's as fast laps and got dropped back down to 14th by the end.
Had great fun..but I've got to faster. YOU GUYS ARE NUTS!!

I got home too late to enter the race I guess. I thought I could enter during qualifying but I kept getting booted and/or disconnected. So I gave up. Sorry for those on the waiting list.

I know i was one of the slower guys, i think it was the line i was taking. but i had a blast. congrats. to the top 3. sorry for holding anyone up. like i told Tim last night, with everyone driving the same car, kinda hard to tell if the guy behind you is challenaging for postition or just trying to get past cause he's in the lead group. as for the bumps an spins i proabley owe a few i'm sorries as well. see you guys next time

Man, that was a lot of fun. No surprise, since the Elise always did make for good, close races.

No surprise either that I was off the pace; knew that going in from the 5-6 laps I’d done offline. Hadn’t been in the Elise in ages (or GTR2 at all for a while) so it was going to take some seat time to get comfy again. Told myself I’d get some more laps in before the race, but it didn’t happen so I was unfazed to find myself well back on the grid after Q.

No matter, was looking like a great race anyway. And it didn’t disappoint; I had some excellent racing along the way, and while it didn’t turn out so hot I’d still rank it among the more enjoyable outings I’ve had of late. It’s always more fun to have cars close and to have to fight the whole time, and it filled the bill in that respect – good stuff.

Started back around 16th and made up quite a few spots while others were floundering or running into each other, settling into 10th for a while. Noticed my soft LF was getting super hot after one big lockup and from there on it was trying to overheat. It would get to about 121 in the first long right after the start, and wouldn’t get back out of the red until hitting the S/F straight again, were the cycle would repeat. Rear meds were staying pretty close to each other on temps, but the fronts were over 20 degrees different and it meant I had to really ease into the fast right handers; tough on a clockwise track!

Kept at it though and gradually worked up spot by spot until I was on Garret’s tail, who was in turn on Rob’s. Somewhere in there we got up to Les, and I got a run off the last corner and drafted by on theS/F straight. Unfortunately, my fronts were so mushy by then I had to brake for T1 just as soon as I’d gotten in front of him. I’m sure my early braking just caught him out as he got into the back of me and sent me spinning into the gravel trap. With the rears so unloaded under heavy braking it doesn’t take much! Just one of those racin’ things, so I got drove out of the kitty litter and brought it home the best I could from there. WD to Mike Greg and Rob for taking the podium spots.

What an interesting race, short track, slow as snot cars (I can assure you the real Lotus street car isn't this slow) and some serious talents on the track.

I never figured out how to drive these cars, didn't know how to set them up -- had the same problem as Steve with LF tire and I was on Med/Med. And it showed, 13th qual, ugh!

Boggles my mind that 1:02's was probably actually possible, dang you fast guys have it well sorted and know how to drive these cars.

For the race I made some major last minute setup changes, figured I was in the worst possible place on the grid anyway and had nothing to lose with a major setup change. Had no idea how much fuel I needed so just overfilled it.

Fortunately I got a great start and avoided the incidents in T2 and found myself in 5th by T3 behind Tom. I tried to pressure Tom, but he and I were close in pace trading sectors on the track where he would be faster and other sectors where I would be faster. Tom made a very minor mistake into T3 and I was able to go under him to take over 4th spot.

Tried to set my sights on Gregg, but couldn't match his pace and then ran into some lapped traffic which I wasn't able to deal with as well as Gregg.

Thought maybe I could distance myself from Tom, but oh boy was I wrong! Tom kept on me and had several passing attempts, I think we banged doors once, not really sure. But it was definitely an intense race and VERY fun.

I was very lucky to get a podium, congrats to Mike and Gregg.

I'm surprised to take a victory here. I expected to do well after all the practice I put in, but not this well. Prior to this event, it had been close to a year since I drove GTR2 and had not driven the Elise since I purchased GTR2.

I made a few tweaks to my setup during practice and found a bit more time. I wasn't as quick as Maciej Bekas and Matjaz Plotajs, but I felt comfortable.

During quali, I didn't find the speed I was looking for and was slower than practice earlier. I lined up 4th which is a good spot to help stay clear of the mid-pack maddness (after watching the replay, there really wasn't much maddness). I was surprised to see Matjaz Plotajs didn't join the field which left an empty position directly in front of me. I used this to my advantage to jump in front of Tom G into T1. A note about starts. I usually get a great launch, but Rob in this case shot out of a cannon. After watching the replay, I saw that he gained no less than 5 positions even before turning the wheel left into T1. Fantastic start Rob! You get the hard charger award for this race hands down.

Throughout the race, I tried my best to keep up with Maciej, but I was no match for his pace. He steadily gapped me from lap 3 to the time he dropped out. I was surprised to see him leave the race since he had at least 12.5 seconds gap. I suspected a connection failure and later found this to be true after watching the replay. Gut wrenching.

This is going to be a great series. Like others mentioned earlier, there is a lot of talent here. I think consistent top 5 finishes will take the title.

Congrats to Gregg and Rob on the podium finishes and great drives. Also to Maciej for an outstanding drive and tremendous pace. Sorry to see you lose connection like that.

Simply got cought by spinners and spun myself too, hadn't drove the elise for a while... not a good race, drove bad, end of story, sorry to my teammates for not helping in the points depatment :(
