E21: Varano

Congrats podium.

Took a conservative start from P16 (as I didn't want to repeat the non-desired situation of my Trois Rivieres start the previous day) and kept there for the whole 1st lap.

In the second lap I lightly punted Marcel (sorry for that) in one of the turns and he spun, so waited for him to go back on track. Fortunately, we were at the back and there was no one coming close from behind.

Finally climbed up some places to finish 12th, but most of them were due to other mates retiring rather than overtaking. I always miss all the fun...

Ok, I cut last chicane in qualy and I was disqualified. This happens because when I joined only 3 min before qualy I read how Torquemada and the marshal talk about cutting chicane saying anything like "shadow zone is allowed" and how this was different to the typical "2 wheel inside white lines" and also see many drives cutting here I understand that we can cut here.
But after saw the race replay, the inexplicable thing is why the guys leading race also cut the chicane by more than 1 meter and marshal didn't say anything
WTF, anyone can explain me?

The two stewards that were watching over were only watching the first and second chicanes. So it was not due to anything you may have done in the final chicane. I promise you that no decisions to DQ or penalize a driver was based on a single instance of a cut. It took multiple times of cutting for us to take action.

An issue that we often come upon Pablo, is when we have one or two guys breaking a rule numerous times, our eyes start focusing on that person/people. When that happens, sometimes the guy who occasionally breaks a rule gets away with it because the stewards are so busy looking at the other guy. That is what the post-race protest/complaint procedure is for.

I had a blast the opening laps battling with Bas until I was a bit too enthousiastic trying to overtake Bas going into the first chicane. I spun and had to let the entire field get past. Nice run through the field was the result! I had the pace for p4 I thin, but obviously on a track like this and in such a short race I never quite made it back there.

Sorry to Antonio Torquemada. I thought I was to the side of you for my attempt to outbrake you. I thought I had moved enough to the side but in the end I just clipped your rear fender, maybe due to some lag/warp, maybe I just hadn't moved enough. I immediately let you pass me after you rejoined the track, but still I want to apologize for the incident.

In the end I almost caught the group of cars fighting for p5, but with a few small mistakes trying to close that final gap in very short time I didn't quite make it. The race was just a bit too short! At least I had a front row seat for that battle with Bas on his flat tire and the rest desperately fighting for those positions in the final corners.

Fine race , no problems at all. Car felt good all the way and only in 1st laps i had some troubles finding the right braking points , but after some laps it went smoothly.
