Valencia SuperCup

Got bogged at the start a bit.
Followed Janssen for a couple of laps and he was sliding a lot and he spun at the chicane but I managed to get around him then.
Had one scary moment when Buta's M3 froze in middle of the track, I just missed him but Bryson behind me didnt, hit Buta and spun into me, it was unlucky for us, he waited for me to take the place back which was kind :) but he won it back quickly as he was G2 lol.
By now my tyres were wearing down and my laptimes dropping, but I still planned to go all the way without stopping. Was a few secs behind Dimitriu when I took a turn wide to let Claus through to lap me but didnt realise just how worn my rears were and got just into the gravel, Id seen David had pitted and was 6 secs behind and I was looking forward to a nice little battle, but it was as I was extricating myself from the gravel he passed, and as he was on fresh rubber and me worn hards (plus the fact he's way faster then me anyway ;) I just settled for where I was (1 min ahead of next guy), so I took it easier as my rears were 'tyres worn - take it easy', but doing that just meant the fronts temperature dropped and I was driving on ice a bit the last few laps, but make it to the end I did :)

Well this race was fun, too bad I hit Mark Wicks going into turn 1 ever so slightly but just to be safe I decided to make a drive-tru... but the car just went into the pitstop place and made a pitstop for absolutly nothing and lost a lap to most drivers.

After I got out of the pits I was more then 1 minute back to Janssens, Nilsson and Roberts. But I was driving good with some nice laptimes and could catch up lap by lap, I was really close to them just before my sceduled stop.

Had some nice battles and could overtake a few cars even if I was a lap down on them.

Happy with this result and it was my first race in manual gears.

Qualified 2nd, thought Woohoo!! here we go! Naturally it couldn't ALL go well, messed up my tyre choice when I read the wrong temp in the garage. 2 to 5 in the first lap, and then promptly held up Greg and Mark and a few others for quite a while. Sorry chaps. Eventually made some silly mistakes under pressure, and ended up in 7th. Finally the tyres got some temp in them, but I was braking early and gently, and finally thought "No Way, gotta pit!" Somehow my pit's always dissappoint, something to work on for the next event. Lost about 24 seconds on everyone else, and came out roundabout 13th. With better tyres, eventually made it back to 7th, and ended 5 sec's behind Greg. Had one incident where a car was frozen on track, I spun out across the grass infield back into Mark's path and clipped him, so lost some time, and let Mark have his position back. Sorry Mark, you saw I wasn't at fault. Might have even caught Greg, but no bets on if I coulda got past him. Nice racing Greg!
Well done to everyone! Especially thanx to the G3 guys who are so considerate of the faster cars. I wonder if the faster cars are as considerate of the G3's?
Daniel, manual is the only way to race. From now on we'll have to call you Manual Daniel so you don't regress ... ;-)

And yeah I always pay attention to the guy's wanting to overtake, although this race was a bit harder as the M3's were just everywhere.

Qualifying: 1/10th of a sec between 2nd and 4th on grid. Could have gone a bit faster but kept catching g3's. Happy enough with 4th.

Race: Got a flyer off the line, whereas Boyd in front didnt so i managed to out drag him to T1. Kept up with Fernando in 2ND for a few laps but once we settled down he was edging away 1/2 a sec a lap but i was doing the same to 4th place.

As we were getting to the half way mark Garry and Mark started reeling me in, luckily i was about to pit. Had a reasonably smooth pit stop other than momentarily forgetting to cut my engine in pit stall. Came out of the pit just as Garry and Mark lapped me. After 2 laps and my tyres were up to temp i started to catch them, Mark pitted but Garry stayed out but as i was on new rubber i was faster and he indicated to let me pass (thanks Garry :))to unlap myself.

Garry pitted eventually, and came out in front of me but i dont think he changed tyres and i was able to catch him when he had a minor bump with a g3 car at T1. I got the run on him and we were side by side for about half a lap, but my new rubber let me out brake him at the chicane to pass. Had a massive sideways moment going through last corner, managed to save it and cruised to the finish.

Good race all, thanks to G3s for allowing easy passing.

qualified 3rd in g3 with a time exactly the same as my pb the night before, wrong tyres heated up too quick but happy with 3rd was a bit tricky with faster g2 cars qualifying too.

Race start was perfect, got away cleanly and tucked in behind Pete and Garret in a very busy first few turns, had a very quick Viper giving me trouble for the first few laps until my tyres came up to temp, held onto Garret for about 10 laps with Pete just ahead until my tyres started to go off, they went off so quick for some reason which is the reason i had to make a stop.

Made my stop and came out 8s behind Adrian and Mircea with about 15 mins to go so had to push as G2s where everywhere, caught Adrian after a few laps and was only a matter of time before i could outbrake him somewhere, but i tapped him as a gaggle of g2s were storming towards us in the chicane and we had a touch in the confusion that left him off the track, tbh i only realised after the race and apologised, then closing in on Mircea he lost it going into turn 5 and slammed the wall pretty bad, and promoted me and Adrian back to 3rd and 4th.

Happy with my driving, need to maximise strategies and push that bit harder even 0.5 a lap will do.

Had a scare at the end as Claus finished just behind me to put 2 laps on me i had only 2L left and had to crawl round and just got the car to the finish with it chugging over the line :O

Well done to Claus again :P he passed me just before the final turn and was almost sideways obviously still feels the need to push like hell even though he was comfortably leading :P

Well done to Pete and Garret, fast pace and didin`t even need to stop!!

I dont knew... that with Viper i have must make a pit... with porsche instead 0 pit.... -.-

Experience for me....

Been trying to get some screenshots up, but the server replay craps on me around the midway point. Downloaded it 4 different times, re-naming it each time and it still craps on me or CTD at the same point.

Anybody else have the same problem?

I know it`s not of any help Garry but i`ve been having a lot of ctd`s lately whilst viewing the replays :s

Garry, there's definitely something wrong with the replay. CTD's at about 1190 sec's into replay.
