VvC: Anderstorp

I had a good start from 15th to about 9th. Alot of crashing first lap. 2nd lap i misjuged braking and punted off a blue viper. 3rd lap I got punted off by vette. My tires were crap and i let a leader through and shifted into 1st accidentily and hit the curb and fliped my race was over.Finnaly finshed 14th.Congrads to Barry and the podium!!!!!!!!!!!

The first lap was a bit frantic, with lots of crashes, spinouts and going out of track but it was ok after that lap was done.
In the 3rd lap I backend Roberts and we both went off track(sorry), and after that... well it's not that I drive bad but, I finished the race last(13th because of people retiring from the race or having their car flipped.

Nice race, but the Porshes seem easier to drive.

Replay at the top of this page.At the start of lap 10,i had a big screen freeze and came out of it heading into the sandpit at t1.I don't think i was the only one affected because someone else went off in t1.

Bad race for me... I had the pace to fight for 3rd place or so but all went to hell on the start. Garneata was slow starting but that's not an excuse... I smacked him on the rear so had to do my drive through.

Got from 7th to 15th there... lots of time lost... then slowly trying to recover some positions... a couple of good passes... and a tough ending also with almost no fuel left and Garneata closing in until he had some trouble on the last lap.

At the end finished in 8th position which is not bad considering all the time I lost with the penalty.

I hope next race will be more lucky, that first lap seemed chaotic for a lot of drivers.

One last thing... BIG APOLOGY TO GARNEATA... SORRY MAN, MY BAD.

It felt SOOOO good getting back in the C5-R. :D

Had what I thought was a fair qualifier, but only made it up to 10th, you bunch of sandbaggers. :D

When the green lit up, it quickly got congested up in front of me and before I knew it, I had M. Garneata's Viper looking me directly in the face and I had nowhere to go. All I could think was to get slowed as much as possible and try and hit as square as I could, to try to minimize damage. When the smoke cleared, we were both against the wall and in the last two positions. :(

By the end of Rnwy. 04, we were already caught up with several cars, and I was just trying to settle down and get through the first lap without further incident. When we all got to Hansen, it got bunched up again and I lost position to MG, but several of the cars went off track and we both gained a few positions back by the s/f line.

Around lap 5 or so, and after MG drove away from me, I noticed my longtime rival (a friendly one) J. Mueller was making some big gains on me. He Q'd much better than me and I knew I had to step up or give up. I was able to step it up a bit for a while, but I had a minor off in Opel and decided to let him by in Karusell to try and pace with him. I was in hopes of maybe helping down the strait and try to pick up on the 4th and 5th place cars, but he was better than me getting onto the long strait (strait, straight? I get confused), but it turned out I was quicker than him in the remainder of section 1, and we were pretty even the rest of the track.

After a few anxious moments with some slower cars, John and I found ourselves behind the 4th and 5th place cars for the last 7 laps. Soon after, I think it was E. Jaque in 4th, slid off the track and it was down to R. Saito, J. Mueller and me in a pressure cooker battle for 4th. John made a couple attempts to get by Saito and finally on the last lap, he got a run on him into Karusell, getting under him. I was trying to follow him through, but Saito quickly cut back down, defending his position, and I had to get on the binders briefly to avoid spinning him out. I damn near ended up in the sandbox as a result. I just tried to pressure him for the final 3 turns, but he held me off very well...... until the BIGGEST heartbreak of the race, he runs out of fuel in the final turn of the race, literally 200 feet from the line. Wow. Been there. :(

All in all, it was a very good race for me, and I would like to say thanks to all who let us by and allowed us to battle. Great job!

Also, a HUGE grats to Team CanAm for a 1-2-3 finish!! Rare. And I think they should be entered into the R2P HOF, but I'm biased. :D
