Mid Ohio Masters

I made a mistake at T1 and lost 3rd place down to last. After a nice comeback with great fights I finished 4th. Amazing pace at the top 3, grats to them :)

i really enjoy MidOhio so no matter the result it's always nice racing here
with racing in GTOpen and wet qualy didn't have time to practice with a GT car .. so i was learning the car while i raced
i tried not to cause problems but i really had a scary moment that was so close to end in tears for the leaders .. sorry for that .. the car just snapped

I took hard wets for qual and they were pretty good. Lambo is poor in wet so second place was very nice.

I got a great start and perhaps I could have taken the lead but I clipped the curb in T1. In the first laps I did some small mistakes but at least I kept Pablo behind me. I was waiting for Samuel's Saleen's tires to go off but that never really happened. Just before my stop I and Pablo had caught up to Samuel.

During pitstops the thing I was afraid of, happened: Pablo got past me because the Lambo engine is so thirsty. I did my best to catch in the second stint but I never got close enough again.

It was a nice race up front, even if we never really got to wheel-to-wheel racing, except in the start. Congrats to Samuel for the win.

very demanding race, two very fast guys and not the best car here.
Anyway the corvette were easy handling and good balanced despitting low setup work.

One of the hardest and closest race ever drive, 80% of time pushing at the maximun; very happy with the result.

All I was concerned about today was finishing in front of Heinz, the team championship was already decided so we were free to race each other for 2nd in the driver's standings.
It didn't start too well when he put in a storming lap to get 3rd on the grid and I could only manage 7th. I had a good start though and after T2 I was 5th right behind Heinz. It looked like it might be a close battle between us but Heinz had a spin a few laps in and never recovered.
After that I only had Xavier to worry about, we had some good close racing when he caught me up but he passed me before my stop.
Couldn't relax in the 2nd stint as Brian was matching my pace behind me and would have been ready to pounce if I had made any big mistakes. He closed the gap but I kept it on track until the end and got 5th.

I didn't run the whole season ,so i had a reasonably good car for Mid Ohio and that helped a bit. Wasn't easy thou with Saleen either , lot's of weight and rear heavy car so the rear tires took quite a beating.

Surprise pole in wet track , didn't expect that and felt that i was on a wrong tires. Surprisingly i could do 2-3 hotlaps with soft wets , even thou the rears were cooking already after outlap :o.

For the race i had to use hard compound in the rear , didn't get the mediums to work in practice but with some more wing the car was running surprisingly well on hard rears too.

Too much wheelspin in the start and Ari almost got me there in T1, but he lost some speed and i could regain the lead before T2. Car felt really good with full tank and i could slowly make some gap to Ari , while Pablo was keeping him busy.

After 22 laps i had a nice 4 second lead but lost the rear on the exit of the 2nd last turn and throw away 3 of those valuable seconds there. Ari was pushing hard and the pressure was on , but i was counting on the pitstops where Ari had the big disadvantage with Lambo. Managed to pull few tenths away from Ari again but then had a big scare while lapping a car after last turn exit , i was already doing the switchback and aiming for the inside line when the car infront of me slowed down and turned in too.

I'm appreciating the thought to let me through but corner exits are very dangerous places to slow down and move away from the racing line, specially when the overtaking car is right behind. Better to stay on racing line in these kind of situations.

Had to step on the brakes hard and swerved to the outside line , but fortunately there was no contact. Ari had to slow down a bit too and luckily he couldn't take an advantage of the situation , but now we were nose to tail.

Pablo went in the pits 1st on lap 27 , next lap was my turn and Ari wen a lap later. As expected , Pablo jumped Ari on the pits and was now 2nd , about 2-3 secs behind me and the chase was on again.

After few laps the hard rears were up to temperature and car was working fine again , Pablo was pushing incredibly hard with his Vette and the gap fluctuated between 1-2 seconds all the way to the checkered flag. Ari was few seconds back and he was pushing evenly hard. It felt like something have to happen soon , but everyone just kept on pushing lap after lap , pushing each other to the limit.

I agree with Ari and Pablo about the race , even if there weren't much nose to tail racing , it was very demanding to keep on pushing those times through the stint. Excellent racing guys, well done with the equipment you had in hand.

This was a nice way to end the season , specially after the rather sad Donington event with Lister earlier. Happy to find a good setup and rhythm here , even if i had the small off but managed to recover and keep it together from there on :).

congrats CJ on the title, Sam on the win, and GTNDC taking the team title.

As darren said, my race was just about racing darren to determine the drivers for 2nd and 3rd as we went in tie for this race on points and the teams 2nd place wrapped up.

I was happy with the maserati i guess, but i hardly ever drive this car cause i dont like it much..

I was suprised to get 3rd on the grid in the wet, chose inters and they worked ok for me.

Race start was good aswell, but on the 2nd lap i put the car on the rumbles and it bottomed out and spun round.. that was my race with darren.. 2 laps :(

I tried to recover, but it was really hard, and the mediums in the rear where not coping well with the temps..

I also had to do some serious racing with Eric and Miguel most of the time, had to be patient for a pass as it's not very easy on this track.

Kept loosing the car at the worst times, and just kept making my race harder and harder..
Eventually at stops, put hards on the rear and i thought it was all coming together again..

But i had lost count how many times i lost the car, eventually put it in the wall and parts went flying and had no more will to carry on after that, embarresed to say..

Had high expectations for this race, but ended on a real sour note for me, quite sad about my outcome really.

Grats to darren, better driver on the day, 2nd in the drivers fully deserved, well done mate.

thinking about the whole champ I see it couldn't be worse

Round 1: disconnect in qualy -> last position in grid, finishing 3º

Round 2: disconnect in race when I was P2

Round 3: Big problems whit momo pedals when I was P2, brake pedal keep pushing all time, I had to retire

Round 4: no problems, 2º

Round 5: I can't race

Round 6: marshal punish me whit a drive-through in lap 1 because exceed pit line speed in qualy. finish 4º

Round 7: no problems, 2º

All the bad luck was concentrated in this champ... hope next season will be better
