ASP Rally Pedals 1 hour of Indianapolis

'Grats to Jarrod and Chris, of course, but i can't miss the opportunity to congratulate Ken and Ralph on a fine race for Bad Voices Racing (and Ken's first podium -- i think it took me about 80 races!).

Yes it was a good team result and all the more so after Ralph and I committed a faux-pax in Qualy by getting in each others way when were supposed to be "co-operating".. The net result of which meant I couldn't replicate my practice times and ended up with 8th on the grid. Still I felt happy enough with the car setup and felt I had a chance to move up some places.

I actually nearly made them all up...LOL... after the chaos on the start at turn 1, but had to back off to avoid running into recovering cars coming out of turn 2. It was gonna be a tough race for everyone managing the left front tyre, so I took it steady ,tried to avoid mistakes and gradually made up places, eventually ending up on Ralph's tail just before his stop, which lucky for me was 2L before mine. I pushed hard for those 2L and after my stop came out just in front of him in 3rd place with 10L or so to the end.

Just an observation about catching Ralph - He had lots of trouble lapping Omar who was in 9th place at the time and lost BUCKETS of time because of it. Guys if you're being lapped, ease off and let the lapping car get away, instead of racing it. In the RW you'd get Black flagged for that behaviour!

I managed to keep ahead of Ralph until L41 when I ran wide at turn1 and then a bit at turn3 and I think he must have been focussing on my rear as he also ran wide at turn 3, forcing me out onto the gravel. But like the TRUE sportsman that I have found he is, he waited for me to recover and take up 3rd place again. I couldn't ask for a better Team mate!

Congrats to Jarrod and Chris who had the legs on the rest of us by at least 0.5 secs\lap and also to their team result. :)
