Congrats to the podium!

I set a PB in qualify and my best qual to date, 5th. I know i had a top 5 car, Im so disappointed. But had a great time! You know you are having fun if you set the alarm on the weekend. My heart rate also started pumping at the start of the race. Good Times

It was a great race except for when i F-ed myself on the 2nd lap. Really sorry Ken, I bumped you on T1 of the 2nd lap, I'm glad to see i didn't screw you up to much. In the process of sending both of us sliding i got hit from behind and lost the little wing that goes across the tail lights, that thing makes a big difference because i was ice skating until i got back to the pits. Screwed myself again taking tires. I get back on track dead last +60 sec to the next position. I had fun following Omar for more than a few laps and taking advantage of the fuel savings as i was looking for any advantage i could, to bad that ended when he got tangled up with a slower car, good times Omar. I got back up to P12, but i had to make another stop for fuel and tires. Fifteen min left i make my last stop, exit the pits in 14th 30sec behind P13, I could only get within 14 sec of P13 hoping i would get some luck and somebody would have to pit, sure enough P12 AND P13 head into the pits on the last lap! YES! Last turn i must have been a little heavy with the right foot as i spun it into the wall. NOOOOOOOOO! Just about then time expires and ChrisM goes flying by, race over.

A special thanks goes out to the Scuderia Internazionale team, in practice Friday night they helped me knock .5 off my PB and helped me with a more solid car. top notch guys Thanks A-Lot! I also want to thank the slower guys for moving out of the way(thats really weird for me to say) even when it was for position!

Having run strongly in practice, I figured on getting a top 4 start, but best laid plans etc,etc, it didn't quite work out that way. A couple of laps into qualy and I overcooked the gas on the left-hander before the last corner and damaged the front splitter. So 7th was the best I could achieve. Still, I figured I had a strong setup for the race and so it turned out. I thought it was GAME OVER when I got an ALMIGHTY wack up the rear going into T1 on L2, but kept it pointing in roughly the right direction and lost only 2 places. I couldn't believe it when checked for damage and found there was NONE!!

No hard feelings Mike, as I too am looking for forgiveness from Jon Weal after overcooking my braking later on and tagging him at the same point when fighting for 4th-6th places I think it was. I'm really sorry Jon, I just went a tad deeper into the corner than expected...:(

I managed to work up to 3rd before my pitstop and held it after everyone had done their stops. I thought about pushing to try and catch Zak, but reckoned I didn't have time\laps\much chance of that, so I settled in for the final 10L to the end. John Onofrey pushed me all the way, nice racing John :), so I had to keep a reasonable pace without wrecking the front left tyre.

My 2nd podium in a row, so I'm well pleased, but it's just a shame that I'll miss the next two races and will only be able to return for the finale at Bahrain. Enjoy Vanport and Sepang guys and see you in the Gulf in September.

Quite happy with my first podium in this series. Qualified well on a light fuel strategy with soft tyres hoping to get somewhere in top 5 so was quite surprised when I got second only .072 off Chris.

Took the lead out of the last corner when Chris spun on the straight and then led for the first 15 minutes which I definately didnt think would happen. Eventually Chris caught back up with me and I was going to let him past because he was quite a bit quicker than I was but coming round the long right hander I got a bit too wide and got on the grass just before the left turn and couldnt stop then Chris turned across and we banged sides which Im sorry about. Couldnt stop quick enough!

Luckily, not much damage so managed to carry on at same pace and came out second from my pit stop and managed to close the gap down to about 3 seconds when we hit some back markers but I spun just before the straight so that put me back and I settled for second. Still my best result in this series to date. :-)
