Australian Rally

Very nervous going into this final round equal with Carl, but also very much up for the battle.
I ran 4 stages and hit PBs or very near on all of them, then came East West. I was getting tired and I made a couple of small mistakes but Carl did too. We were on the server at the same time for that one. I decided to leave the last stage until the next day rather than risk any more mistakes from tiredness.
Carl's time on Mineshaft was out of this world, but I had a 30 second cushion and knew I could take the series as long as I didn't do anything stupid. I couldn't back off too much because the car behaves completely differently if you aren't throwing it into the corners, and Mineshaft has so many dangerous drop-offs if you go a little bit wide, so it was a bit nerve-racking to say the least. When the co-driver called the last turn it was such a relief.
Well done to Carl again, it was a great battle this series, could hardly have been any closer. Grats to Les for his 3rd here and in the series.

Started on stage 2, went ok, only hit one tree, and one other minor off that I recall. Stage 3, Mineshaft, got off to a bad start and got worse from there. Had hoped for a sub-6 minute stage but it didn't happen. After the first off the car didn't handle properly for the rest of the stage. Stage 3 was a disaster then whammo - Error: server has not started the game. :( Stage 5 was ok, only a couple minor side bangors into trees. I like the East-West stages the least. Stage 6 went pretty good, had a bad off, but not too much trouble, just slowed down a bit too much probably after the off, which hurt my time. I would really like to see some of the video of the original real races done on these stages when Richard Burns was driving. Stage 1 finally - I was cooking along pretty good, got a bit too comfy I guess, and over-cooked one 'medium' right and hit and spun off a tree.

I needed 40 points to catch Michael K in the overall standings, but didn't quite do it, closed the gap to 28 points. My Japan rally was bad and it really hurt my overall standings. Ended up with 5th place overall. Much better than I've ever done in any road racing.

Love the RBR rally, looking forward to doing it again.

I just have to say wow! What an event. Completely nerve racking the entire event. Gotta say Mineshaft was quite impressive. That jump was just nuts. I think i lost half of my car when i landed. Didn't have any practice this time. And surprisingly finished better than i expected. Big congrats to Darren and Carl! You guys are just insane at this and your times are always an eye opener. Also big congrats to my teammate Mike K for a fantastic season! Glad to help contribute to our team finishing second in the final team points. Can't wait for more of these. I feel like i finally have the car almost where i need it to actually race it. What an amazing game!! Totally addicting! Just wish i had some more time to practice for this one. Who knows what i could have pulled out. Hope to join for the full season next season. I really enjoy this! Thanks for setting it up for us Tim and crew!

Cant say im not dissapointed i wont be able to attempt a comeback at the international event that has been canceled after darren just managing to pip me at the post after i had the lead all rally. Well done da!!! (ya b*****d!). Think it was east-west that lost it for me here, ran the stage with darren and was up by about 5 sec then right at the end of stage i ended up on my roof and had to call for help.(gutted). I look foreward to the next rally where i can hopefully redeem myself and get some of them records off da:). lets all try n get the word out n get the numbers up for the next event!!

I turned in a pretty abysmal performance down under, more serious mistakes than any other time this season I think. The high speeds don't mix well with the ledges and burms on the side of some of those roads. Still a lot of fun. I still get major pucker factor coming over that mine shaft jump.

I'm thrilled with 4th, though I attribute it mostly to just showing up at all the events :)
