GP of Long Beach

Car swung a bit too wide coming over the crest and I couldn't bring it back. I was doing fairly well, too. :(

I wouldn't feel too bad about that. I didn't even make one lap before I destroyed the car. But I did stay and watch the race. I'm impressed. Looks like a very good group to race with.
Maybe I can stay in it a bit longer next time :)

I am completely fried. Three races today. Same setup as the Euro race but technique went to the dumper tonight. Couldnt string together good laps. Oh well, finished it so not a total loss. Great job guys. Grats to all and especially Stewart for the sweep today. Schumacher-esque! Thanks to Tim and Todd for the opportunities to run the races.

I had a little bump in qualy that messed up my stratgy but still got 7th , The start was pretty good but on the 2nd lap I beleave a car steped out and I had to avoid them as they regain and lost my car as well into the wall. Car didit feel right after that. Im happy with 11th even though I think I could of done alot better.

Finally had a good Q and managed not to screw up too much during the race.

I had a good start and took the lead, but brushed the wall after 2 laps and Stewart got by and disappeared.

Then Sam was on me like flies on doodoo. :)
I helf him off for a few laps but it took a toll on my tires - 215 degrees. With the tires all greasy, I made a little bobble coming on to the back straight and he got alongside, so I braked early to make it easy for him. No sense taking a risk only to avoid the inevitable.

With Sam ahead of me I worked on getting the tire temps under 200. I did this, ran some smooth laps, and then Sam pranged his wing and I got past him again.

I started pushing again immediately to put a gap on Sam and David, but my DFP gave me an extra downshift at the end of the back straight and I half-spun into the wall. Front wing was messed up, and alignment was off, but I was able to maintain my pace. David kept the pressure on, always in my mirrors, but I had some luck with the lapped cars and held him off.

Damn...Could have stayed in bed rather than finish in 4th and behind David after a spin...again. Can't seem to get a clean race with these cars , but that won't stop me to try , try and try again :).

Early laps were atleast fun , just started to wake up after having a good battle with Mike W and i was running comfortable in 2nd place , but then the big curb in the chicane got me.

Spinned and lost the front wing , thought that it's all over and started to 'limp' back to pits , but canceled the pitcall after noticing that the car wasn't actually so bad.

Steering pulled a bit left and frontwing was missing , but after a lap of 2 i was back in same speed as usual and on top of that i had now really good straightline speed :D :p.

Had a bit better luck in trafic and i could actually catch David B , but the laps run out before we got in to fight :(.

Sorry Mike for the clumsy overtake move in T1 on my 1st try, braking behind other car seems to a bit more dificult than when alone and didn't have the same grip as usual... thx 4 being the carefull one there .

Well... learned something again from this race , so it wasn't a total waste. Dunno for sure thou that if it tells about my setup skills or these cars , if i can be exacly on same laptimes with or without frontwing... LOL ;).

WOW... Dunno if it was allready settled before this race , but big congratulations to David for winning the Spring 2007 Historic F1 (West) Series (S4) Championship. Well done mate , it was fun to chase you as usual ;).

Congrats podium, and series champion. I'm glad I finished these races with minimum destruction, but I'm emabarrased at how slow I was!! LAst Place uhhhggg. I drive this car like a little girl and when I got tired and just started winging it I got my fastest lap. So I'm just driving too slow an scared, I will need to develop setups if I plan on racing in this series next season. I had alot of fun sliding around however, so good race!! Good Job AW!

I had a decent outing for my initial run in this class. Only biffed the walls in the race with the inside wheel so not a lot of damage sustained. Had one major gaffe in looping the car just passed half distance and it took quite a while for the track to clear up to spin it back to the right direction. Hope I didn't shaft anyone trying to lap me. Pleased enough to place P10 and hope to be back for more. :)

As a relative noob to rF, I'm finding that for virtually every Mod I try, I have steering difficulties. It's not an FF thingie...cheapo Logi NASCAR wheel doesn't have it. It's a question of feel and getting some sense that the inputs are matched but what I see and feel happening where the rubber meets the road. By comparison, my GPL and GTL is faultless. In last night's LB affair, it was like driving on eggs. In the coming days, I'll see if I can't massage the parameters of adjustment into some pattern that I can manage more readily.

The race was very frustrating from my point of view. Not use to the Wolf and what settings it requires. It runs so much like the Williams but doesnt brake well. 3 secs off the pace only made me wish that I had choosen the Williams because that is what I am use too. The famous Logitec Momo spiking came during mid race. Only having the wheel for 3 months and problems have arisen already. I notice this by watching Ray and Dean simutaneously pass me on the straight like I was standing still. 6th through 9th place must have changed positions 5 or 6 times during the first 15 laps. Watch replay of our battles if you get a chance. Laps 1 through 15 would make a good video. Congrats Johnathan for a good win.
