First race and I was really pleased with my result, was expecting to be slower. Clean race all round, got a rear end put after 5 or 6 laps, and car was never quite the same after that, also got a drive through (so did quite a few though I think) so that sort of stuffed things up a little, so apart from a little half spin clean, and some nice racing. Thanks, have to look out for more UK time races.

With reference to enclosed action photo that and the resulting stop and go was only problem I had in the race. Even when I knew, as I was told, that The Line would be the first one I saw it too late. Speed limit was so low that I was not able to slow down in time and the game knows no mercy.

Perhaps speed limit could be a bit higher to avoid these in the series?

Seemed like a great race! I never was w/o someone to battle with. I'm my own worst enemy though.
I spent the first 17 laps running with Axis, and then Sorensen, maybe a third party in there as well. My setup wasn't that fast but it was stable. I never felt like I was out of control.
Then I pitted right behind Sorensen and I think we came in running 5th and 6th respectively. I must've hit the limiter a fraction too soon exiting and got a drive thru.
That pretty much ended my hopes of sniffing the top ten.

Also, even though I felt I was driving slower for the first 5 or 6 laps after pitting, my car didn't feel right anymore. I made a ton of mistakes in the second half, and after grinding my way back up from 16th post drive thru and having a grand battle with James, Ortega and Jerry, I blew it on the last lap (felt like I had no grip anymore) and James got by to take 13th from me which is where I had started.
Oh Well, was fun, and I don't think I ever hit anything so the Body Shop has minimal duty before the Holiday.

Yay! My first good R2P event!
Every other race has been marred by some dreaded "grip loss effect" as soon as a lot of cars or on the server. But in this huge field today there was not one iota of change! Well not that I could sense. I can only guess that the V8's, with their more limited and less critical setup features, and running more on "slow right down and power out of the corner" means it is all not as discernble. But I doubt it could be just due to those differences in the Mod.

It was a great race, with Bas and Rogier running fast times - in their apparently 'low wing' cars. I had opted for high downforce, as that seemed to work best, plus I wanted the leeway to cover any 'grip loss effect' I was expecting. Rogier got past me into 2nd place and not too many laps further into the race I could see he was starting to have tire troubles. Which I was not. So it was just going to be a matter of time until I could get past, or he would slip up (literally). And he did.

Being held up for a long while until the error by Rogier meant bas got a long run ahead! Just over 7 secs, but I was just eating into that too, seeing he also had more tire problems.
I pitted a lap later - part to worry them - and part seeing I had a clear track to get in one more good lap and then come out with tires that would need even less laps to finish. BUT in pit-lane a car had spun and resumed the pit lane (fine to do so) right in front of me as I blitzed in! So I had to slow right down behind them and they were 'speed limiting' in from WAY out! So that cost a LOT of time. And we exited together and I was stuck behind them for the exit, which I could also have done way faster than we did. So instead of gaining some tim eI lost almost 4 seconds from all of that!
Now Bas was 10secs plus ahead, and it took ages to close that down to 4secs area..and not enough laps to go!

Oh well...it was a great race! And Bas didn't make any notable erros so he deserved the win!

First few laps, 4 through 8th, we were pretty close nose to tail. (I like the new screenshot feature Todd! Very cool.) Lap 6, I bobbled a bit coming out of the esses, Kevin got a real good run on me. We went door to door dead even into the long right handed sweeper. I was inside, Kevin outside. We both get on the power trying to beat each other to the downhill lefty. I understeered like a pig, Kevin oversteered on the power, and our noses met in the middle. :P It was a cointoss at that point, but I got lucky, Kevin wasn't as lucky. ;) Tough break for Kevin, because he seemed like he was slightly faster than me through sector 2. Rest of the race was uneventful.

Congrat's to the Bas and all who participated in this "FUN" fun-run.

I had a blast running with you guys (and lady) today. Had some real fun battles and rubbed a little paint (I hope I did'nt mess anybody up, if so, I'm sorry).

Well, this is the second time I've done this. I'm used to taking a formation lap, then starting (standing or flying start). Like a dope, when the green flew, I drove like it was a fomation lap... LOL. I was thinking, boy these guys sure do run a fast formation lap! I even held up when somebody went of track and let him back in in front of me!!!

I also had a confusing moment during my pit stop. In GTR, you have a pit boss that will holler "go, go, go" or something similar when the pit work is done. I was waiting for the guy with the lollypop to move aside or do something to let me know I could leave the pit. I finally left when I noticed everyone else was taking very short stops. Guess I just have to be more knowledgable with the different sim's.
Can I use the excuse of my advancing years? Maybe not, there are a lot of real sharp over 50 year old racers here. :- )

All in all, I had a great time today.

And Kevin, I'd love to join up with you guys, but I'm waiting to see your S4 schedule. I work nights, so I am not able to participate in the evening races during the week. Maybe with enough new Euro members you could have some USA morning (Euro friendly) runs in the future.

Was a nice race today guys.

Peter and me started in the qualifying to battle with each other and continued to do so for the whole race. Rogier and me were driving a more fast "low downforce" setup then Peter but it was eating our tires, after 9 or 10 laps the temparatures were real high and the grip real low. By then I luckily had a bid of gap to Peter but he started closing pretty quick in my last few laps before my pitstop, I was thinking of staying out 1 more lap but with the laptimes I was running it wouldnt be the smart thing to do. So after my stop I came back in 3rd behind Jim and Peter, after there stop it was to my big surprise I enlarged the gap to Peter to 10 sec and it stayed like that untill the last couple of laps which saw him come closer and closer, but not close enough :) Big thanks to all the backmarkers who really were perfect gentlemen (and lady).
Looking forward to next week for some more v8 racing.

Hi to all,
This is my second race with this group and I had a great time! Looking forward to next week. Hadn't run this course before so short week of prep but I felt good about result. Thanks to my friend Jim Pejsa for the many, many hours of head to head we've driven together. Thanks to TPTCC group for letting me join in the fun. I hope to get to know some of you better in the future.

Well guys (and lady) that was fun!!!

My 1st race in these beasts! Had a bit of trouble finding a clean lap in q. But 3rd wasn't bad at all. My start was ok, 3rd through 1st corner and after a really good corner exit to the back straight I managed to take 2nd place from Peter. Low wing setup and a small mistake by Peter did the trick. Then the fun really began, with Peter behind me. He was patient but faster, so with us fighting Bas could open up a gap. Lap after lap I had Peter literally filling up my mirrors. In lap 12 finally I made mistake. The tires were not very good anymore and Peter was pushiing me all the time. After that I just concentrated on finishing the race, especially after I started suffering from cramp in my left leg. Congratz to my team mate Bas and also to Peter for a great run. Cyall next week.
