V8 Supercars

discoed 3 laps in from 6th place. that sucks!!!!!

Was awful indeed. Couldn't get clean lap. D'OH

Race:
Start was even worse than quali, though I menaged to overtake Banta few corners after. Spent most of the times behind Studans and de Klein but couldn't overtake despite being faster at certain stages. 3 laps to go when I got on de Klien ass stupid PC stuttered and car oversteered suddenly, menaged to catch it, but any hope of overtaking was lost.

Wow, that was interesting!
I set out in practice about 10 minutes before qualifying, and after just 2 minutes I had figured out two things: I was going to be competitive, and it was going to be a messy race!!!
I thank the lords of simracing that I was somewhat fast right out of the box here, because this is such a frustrating car/track combination to try to gain time on. I went to the top of the practice charts after a few laps to bed myself in, then did the same in qualifying, which was nice!
The race went well, completely muffed the start (crept early thanks to the stupid G25 clutch and spun the wheels when the lights went out), causing some rather boistrous defending in T1 (sorry!). By the end of lap one I was back in the lead, and I was able to pull away thanks to the batlle behind. Never really looked back, conserved tyres, picked my way through the outrageous amount of traffic (bigger track next time please!), and stroked it home for the win :)
I must admit, other than a few guys spinning infront of me and slowing to let me passed in some REALLY dodgey areas, the guys I lapped where really well behaved. Felt like a classic club race! Which was really nice...

Great race today guys, grats Scott for the win and Bas for the other podium spot. Thanks also to Rogier for a great race-long battle. Mostly he was faster than me, but he spun a couple of times and I managed to hold onto the position until the end. Certainly some great competition here at the TPTCC! Hoping to join you guys for the season proper. :)

Apart from some ridiculous dive bombing in the first lap or two it was a great race. Had lots of close clean racing with several fellow racers. Which is nice.

GTR2 at Imola and V8s at Mills made a very nice raceday.

I wasn't looking forward to this event for several reasons. Not the least of which is that I have yet to get the handle of these cars. The event turned out to be better than I expected. Anyway, I started 28th and finished 17th. I kept my nose clean for most of the event. I made a few mistakes, but no major ones.

A couple of things: 1) The 27th and 28th grid positions partially overlap the 25th and 26th grid positions. Those of you with ties to the ISI folks may want to pass that along. 2) I left the pits as soon as I was allowed to go.

Congrats to Scott for his great win in his Team Betta Electrical Ford. Also to Bas and Tom for their runner-up positions. :- )

Sorry Gregg for the lame dive bomb I performed right accross you bow. I was glad to see you made it through OK.

I worked my way up from 27th to 12th when I made a big mistake and clobberd the wall hard. These cars aren't as stout as the GTR2 versions and don't take kindly to wall bashing. Made 2 or 3 stops for repairs which killed any chance for a decent finish.

Hope I did'nt hold up the leaders too much, It's hard to tell when they are comming up so had to rely on the blue flag to know when to ease up. Had a scare when Scott came flying through and we made some light contact. Glad you made it (you did a great slide by the way).

Had a great time and hope to race with you all again.
(I liked the busy track, gets lonely out there in the rear.)
