Well, I guess rewards weight really works! My best qualifying and finish. When you're usually 3-4 seconds off the leader pace, it's really nice to be only 1.5 off. And on a track I've always sucked at.

Congrats to the podium. Special congrats to Barrett, seems I'm always racing him, but tonight I never even saw him. He was up there with the big boys. ;)

Great race guys. Tim Kept me on my toes for the 1st stint, but i could see him pushing the fronts pretty hard. I wasn't sure if I could of made it with no tires but I decided to take the gamble and it payed off. Wasn't much tires left at the end but it held up.

I'm with you on the REWARDS weight Charles, it helps to be 100#s light! It's also nice to have a previous setup that works (Grand Am fun-run) and a track that doesn't seem to be quite as mismatched to the odd Aston gearing.

I thought about not taking tires, but not for long. I knew any advantage i might gain over Tim would be temporary, and i knew i was going to need all the tire i could get to stay in front of my brother.

the 60lb reward weight was tough, the freezing screen was worse! good run guys.

I made some stupid late brakes in the beginning of the race and fell back from 7 to 12. I was gaining on the guys in front and passed michael and then spun again after a late brake again. i knew we would have to get fuel but i decided to just get fuel and not change tires. I went into the pits 11th and came out 13th. 1 lap later all the guys ahead pit and then it put me into 7th. I was catching Charles ever so slowly and then realized i was chewing down my tires so i backed off and concentrated on keeping my tires coll allowing Michael to catch up from 10 sec back to about 2 seconds back on the alst lap. If the race was 5 minutes longer i would have blown my front left for sure.

Fun race. Front left was overheating to the point of being on fire. Seen some slippery accidents that were pretty wild. I still wonder how I went around those. Pretty intense.

Ooops, did it again. Last lap I was cranking up the straight getting ready to setup for the chicane...then...I open my eyes just to see myself crashing through the cones and cut the chicane. Yep, feel asleep at the wheel LOL. Got a stop and go, but there wasnt enough laps to serve it, so I got docked a lap. These races are tough after a Giants game.

I managed to stay pretty calm and run my own pace for this race, which wasn't all that quick compared to up front. Managed my tires well and pitted on time so all that went fine. I was chasing Johnny and Mike Monahan early, wanted to push to catch up but didn't for fear of wear. After the pit cycle I was back in the same place behind Johnny, but he was markedly slower after pitting and I got by. Saw a big gap to 7th and figured I would just be riding it out for the 2nd half, then the gap started shrinking as Dustin explains above, and I started pushing as hard as I could. Got pretty close but ran out of time. Good race all!

BTW, the stuttering was an ISI matchmaker problem, hopefully it will be fixed today.

I didn't take tires. It's usually a close call, you won't have much tires left at the end, but the tires don't give up. If ya take a look at the lap times at the end, I was pushing hard and Tim was too. I was able to almost match his times. Best way is pretty much to push a few laps to settle in a position, then run a steady pace and conserve. If you can put pressure, do so but don't push it. Then when the race is winding down, you push hard again and see what ya got. There was also the outer-loop. You could go in really hard and keep a nice speed, but that was heating my tires up in the 240-250 range on the LF in practice. I tried going in slower and getting on the gas earlier and I the LF was only going up to 220 and actually gaining time.
