Missed my alarm again, so turned on pc set up wheel, and straight into Qualy. Then my best lap (of 2) was a 1m45.7! 3 Hours before I was doing 1m42.5 with full fuel.

Guessed I had a problem then, but no time to fix (other than miss the race). And sure enough - in the race my best lap was a 1m45.3. Drove as fast as I could, and was very quick in the corners. From 11th on the grid, I missed the start by half a second and so was in P13. At the end P9 but due to others problems.

Had a decent battle with Colin Pearson (I caught up when he went off), but we touched twice within 2 corners, and watching the replay I would reiterate that you have to remember to give space if you are unsure of the other cars position - constructive criticism for the next time.

Anyway, managed to remain unlapped at the end. First thing I went to check was Control, Advanced - pushed the throttle - and yep - wavering around the 75 % mark. Exited the game and checked in game controllers - properties - and it was wavering around the 70 % mark. So I drove the whole Qualy and Race with a throttle no more than 70 - 75 % - no wonder I had a soggy 6th gear and only hit 220 kph at the end of the main straight - when I got to challenge in the corners they would then drive past me like I was chained to the ground!

I've had this problem before - it's a random thing but doesn't change during a race (remains constant - it's good and 100% or it's bad) - only fix is to unplug USB, and replug and recalibrate outside of game - and to do that I miss a race (same happened in ILMS Monza event - that being 2 hours I had to pull out on the grid). Of course, waking to my alarm would ensure I spot the problem before Qualy/Race - Grrrrrrr!

Note to self....

Pay attention to the temperatures. You cant open up ducts during a pit stop in GTR Evo.

Well... I had 0 praccy and seems i should have lol. Note to me: When playing on secondary monitor USE FULL SCREEN!!! Boy was it FPSunfriendly/stuttery :P

Also didnt help that i setuped the car so it was soooo handfull... Braking problems, acceleration problems... Spinning few times, nearly spinning dozen times...

3 stop/go ... and so on...

So a sucky race to forget.
Also sry about hitting u Patrick. I lagged and no cars were on track, the second i saw you back on track i was in ur rear bumper. :(

Well what must I say about this race, didn't have a lot of practise before this race and needed to figure out on which car I could drive the best. In the end I opted for the Marcos but that wasn't my best choice.

I didn't have the traction I wanted and also the car had loads of understeer where I didn't want it too. On the first lap I hit Phil Perkins after I misjudged my braking point before the hairpin, sorry for that.

I just tried to keep up with the people in front of me but I couldn't match their times to be honest and thankfully due to a drive-thru of Nikolay I ended up in P10, although he nearly passed me on the last lap. I touched the kerb in the last sector and the car just went slow out of the corner and he hit me straight on. Sorry for that but couldn't do anything about it.

Hey Daniel - in my replay and in R2P results it shows you drove the Marcos!!

Normaly I would choose the Mosler but this race it wasn't good for me.

I wasnt going to race this due to my FPS problems with Evo but decided to give it a go anyway.
Got on the server with about 45 mins to qual and wasnt sure which car i wanted to use, so took the BMW to start and hated it then switched to the Vette which was to tail happy and also my fps problem had come back so did a reboot.
Came back on server in the Spyker and bolted on that default setup they give you resulting in some understeer, so just adjusted the ARB's to get rid as much as poss and drove it.

All in all quite happy with 7th in both sessions as i hadnt practised for this at all.
