GT4 Cup

What a fun race. Grats to Matjaz, again. Seems like I’ve been saying that a lot. Also to Barry & Rob. Also, a big congrats to Andrew for a good race. Stayed on track all race with no spins and consistent times.
Screwed up my qualifying good. Was running 06’s with set up, went out to qualify, ran 2 horrible laps, and doh, have default set up on. Get in the garage and ran a quick warm up lap then was on a good lap and just before the last chicane, session over. Crap. 7th. Got an okay start and followed Kris for a bit then he got tagged by someone and I was able to get by. Ran a very close battle with Miguel and had the speed to stay with him, just not enough to pass him. Waited for the mistake which finally happened and I got by. Then I saw someone up ahead go off, took a look and lost my concentration then Miguel got back by. That was so much fun racing with you Miguel. You race very hard but very clean. A little fender banging without a spin is fun stuff. Thought I had a chance at you on the last lap when Steve had the trouble, but once again, lost concentration and went off. From there I had no chance so just cruzed home. Looking forward for the next one. Hope everyone, and more show up. This shit is fun!

That was fun! Of course I blew it, but no matter; I enjoyed every lap.

Just squeaked into pole right at the end of qualifying, and hoped to get through T1 with the lead and in one piece. Managed that, but with Matjaz on my tail for the 1st half of the race there was zero margin for error.

Which meant I had to look out the front window instead of the rear view mirror. A simple task you'd think, but I got that mixed up and went off! Wasn't driving well out front anyway, being sort of stuck between attack mode and being too conservative.

Got back on in 4th and had a great time with Rob and Barry, but had a couple of moments when I almost got into Rob. Half spun under braking once and locked up and went off the next time. Can't go off multi times and end up with much, so that was that. Didn't hit anyone though, so it was OK. At least I got a TR out of the night!

The usual apologies to Matjaz for not keeping it interesting longer, and grats to Barry for a good comeback from some issues of his own and to Rob for some great racing. Always good to be on track with you guys.

Congrats to Matjaz, Barry and Rob. I saw all you guys - briefly - at the start and then there was just me :)

What a race. I accomplished my goal - staying on track with no trips into the litter. Although I did overshoot couple of turns but managed to keep going. And I finished on the lead lap. So it's a big improvement over my first race.
Thanks to Charlie for the coaching and Steve for some great advice. I did stay with meds all around and it felt better. Am hoping to get better in time for the next race.

That was a fun race - I'm pretty rusty and certainly didn't have the pace of Steve, Matjaz, and Barry. Tried to hang with them, but they slowly just kept increasing the gap.

Then Barry had a issue which gifted me into 3rd, then Steve had an issue which gifted me into 2nd -- Matjaz had checked out. I knew both Steve and Barry were faster but I did my best to hold onto 2nd, unfortunately I made a small mistake but that's all that Barry needed. Steve got real close -- think I may downshifted an extra gear -- thanks for not hitting me Steve.

Good fun, congrats to my teammates also, great results.

Steve, congrats on setting the new track record for Nurburgring during qualy. Well done.

Thanks Andrew; that was about my only takeaway from the race since I'd managed to toss the lead and then a shot at second away. More impressive to me was Matjaz getting within .005 of that on worn tires late in the race. Guess he was keeping himself entertained... ;-)

Thanks guys.Had a blast this time out. Toooo many mistakes on my part though. Steve and Matjaz were tenthing away from me at the beginning of the race and I lost even more when a self inflicted spin off which now sent me back to 4th place behind Rob. I see Steve re-entering the track from his off. Rob was just keeping it on the track and doing just fine but Steve, Rob and me were playing kind of a "lets see if we can keep Rob in 2nd" game. Seemed like 5 times Rob would have an off...then I would have an off...then Steve and so on. The whole time Rob is just cruising around watching me and Steve do really dumb things like going off the track. Finally at the end I brought it home in 2nd place.

LOL Steve, well spotted. Since there was no pressure from behind I decided to give it a try and set the track record during the race. I knew I had the car to do it but I just missed it for 0.005 seconds, so congrats on your record!

An uneventful race for me. I got turned around in turn 3, not sure by who, but had to spend the rest of the race playing catchup. I was catching Charlie and Miguel, but not quickly enough for the short race format.

It is easy to find, having downloaded Replay. ;) It was me, sorry about it. :(
I recommend to file a protest - I have not made drive-through because did not seen that happened to you (although it seems to me that it was a racing incident - I'm the person concerned and can not be objective).
