Mondello (TC-65)

I'm threw with these ISI games until I can get a shifter to work. Sorry Tim if I messed you up. When I went inside you, it skipped a ship from 3 to 1st which is why I ended pointing the wrong way. This happen twice in a matter of 2 laps.

After owning my TSW for over 5 years now, I'm convinced the piece of shit was made for Papy games only. Everything else there's always some form of incompatibility.

If anyone wants a cheap TSW (with a broken shifter), let me know.

I somehow set my time zone preference to Arizona, so I woke up a little too late to make this one. :)

Race went as planned for me, almost. I needed to make a pitstop because I almost ran out of fuel. Other than that I finished in healthy 9th place. :)

Props to Tim for changing these to ~30 min races. Doing only 20 mins gave the Falcon and Mustang too much of an advantage since it wasn't enough time for their tyre wear to become a factor.

Tim and Ray were flying in qual, and they both got good launches at the start, so I wasn't able to leap frog cars like I usually do on the start. Got a slight nudge in turn 1, wasn't much, but the Lotus is pretty light, and I reacted too slow to recover. I had gotten a little used to running the Stang and Falcon for the last couple TC's and those things are like tanks, nothing phases them. :D

So waited for the field to pass, and decided to have some real fun by blasting through the field. :) Had great time with Ray and Pete. Pete deserves some kind of medal for making the Jag go that fast. ;) We managed to sneak by Pete together in the last turn when Pete got a little loose, but Ray had his shifter blow up on him and I saw his Lotus do a 360 in the rearview mirror. :(

Took a while, but I closed down the gap to Donny and Tim from 8.5 secs to nothing as their tyres evaporated. I was still running the same lap times as the beginning, so I was able to chase them down. Donny was all over the place coming out of corners trying to put the power down on worn tyres. We swapped positions couple times. Good stuff Donny. Needed about another 5 laps and I would have been able to punt Tim out of the way. :P

I think it's time to make a GTL vid ... :)

Pretty much went as JerryC said above but I was actually doing my utmost to save the tires and still had pretty reasonable grip at the end. I was running gear3 most places most laps whereas in a balls-out flyer lap for qualifying, I might have used second gear.

At half distance, Tim was only a couple of seconds up the road and I had good air behind me. The plan was to save the rubber until lap 20 and then with 10 to go, mount a charge. Yea, but it soon became apparent by lap 20 that my main concern shouldn't be closing the gap to Tim but rather in maintaining the gap to the next man behind in P3...it was shrinking notably with each lap. Soon, I saw that it was a resurgent JerryC and knew that I'd be in trouble to hold my spot. Not long and his Cortina is on me. I made efforts to resist but only half-heartedly...figured I was pretty much done like dinner. I decided to fight for a few laps just in the off chance that I'd be able to hold off Jerry since there were only a handful of laps remaining. If there had been an additional 10 to go, I would have waved him by easily and hoped that he got into a scrap with Tim and I'd be there to pick up the crumbs should there be grief between them. No chance, tho, and the 30 laps ran down with only a small spread between Tim, JerryC and I.

Quite a good race for me and a reasonable result. Sorry to hear of Ray's problems...and after snagging pole, too. Get a nasty $60 Logi NASCAR wheel like me, Ray. It's got shortcomings to be sure but for that money, it's earned it's keep many times over during the last 8 months.

Fun race, as the TC's always are! Great to see a few extra laps added to the distance. I was quite surprised to find that the Jag wasn't too bad here - really love that car, lots of drifting & arse waving. Fun stuff, but takes some work on the setup probably more than any other car in GTL.
Didn't start to smartly, 3 wide into T1, missed my brake point & just tapped Jerry. Sorry, mate, though when I saw you recovering up behind I made sure to let you by easy!
Finished 6th, might've been better, but I lost sight of Bob when Ray spun right in front of me, then later I got involved in a 'race' with Jerry Mac when lapping him (he thought I was Enis for position). No biggie, probably wouldn't have got by Dean anyway.
