Well i did really good in qualifying and i was quite happy with myself. My pace was there and it was going to ensure me second as long as i did not make any mistakes.

However, while i did not spin or hit the wall or do anything detrimental to my race.. this track is really strict on its corner cuts and in corners i could have sworn i was not cutting it said i was. I had 3 .. yes 3 stop/go penalties and that ensured that i dropped to 4th place. My third stop go happened at T1 because i understeered a bit and my left tire touched the green just barely even though i did not complete the turn and stopped my car it assumed i was going to cut the corner and that is that. It is most unfortunate as i was in a car that could take 2nd but these things happen and i will just have to win next week :).

I was running for most of the race, having had an alright qualifying, no more than 3 seconds from Ryan for just over the first half of the race, but was trying to watch my tyres. Then with a couple of things goingon up ahead I was on for, and was indeed in 3rd for a while there. But then got caught by the vicious stop'n'go. Then when I came out, in 6th, got another straight away... It's frustrating. They were all incidents while not racing someone, and were all instances where I lost time being so far off line anyway. The FIA wouldn't have penalised me if I was in a McLaren!

But still... Worst was when I did the same thing I did in the GT Sport last night. Curva Grande in a race is not a straight enough that you can look at times and things. Ran wide, caught in the gravel and took a wheel off and killed the engine on lap 22. Incredibly frustrating after all that. Apart from the penalties it was the msot consistent I've been, and while I was over cautious on the first lap, managed to keep the place I had started in at least, and well... No contact! Halfway through I was mostly thinking 'and I hate Monza'. I've practiced enough this week to get quite good at it. Fingers crossed for the f3000 race.

Qualy was a bit disappointing. I was on a flyer when two cars went off in front of me in Lesmo 2 and one of them came straight back onto the track right in front of me. With nowhere to go, I hit the rear of the car and it killed my front end. Game over.

I took it easy at the start. With 45min to run, I figured I'd let the race come to me, esp. with the cutting rules here. I managed to gain a spot exiting the first chicane. But by the time I headed into Lesmo 1, I was in 4th having been eased out of my spots. I got one spot back and worked back up to the front. A lap later, P2 (I don't remember who it was) overshot the braking zone and handed me P2.

At this point, Vincent K was 2.5s in front of me in P1. I found a nice pace and ran there for a few laps. Seems Vicent's tires started going off or something, because I was able to close the gap quickly on him. Vicent made a mistake and I got by and headed off. From there, I just cruised as folks seemed to disappear quickly. I suspect from penalties. A nice, lonely win.

Bah, bad race for me very frustrated for a few minutes after this one. Had as solid race, no penalties until 7 laps left or so, then I slam EricDennis going into a corner, sorry ED just a sloppy move on my part, was too close and probably lost downforce and nervously locked up my brakes and hit you. Did my drive thru, got a speeding stopgo, cut on the way around so I had another stopgo. Almost stole a spot from Dwayne out of the final corner, that would have been nice, but good job Dwayne that was fun!!
So I had 2nd wrapped up and blew it with a nerd mistake that I should not be making after 250 races what an asshole!!
