NAGT Challenge

Totally miserable race. Can I have a break please! Besides me making mistakes there was some car almost parked on the racing line going over the hill before "Moss" chicane. Collided with that car and that probably lost me chance of catching 3rd place (even with my previous mistakes I was still able to recover to fight for 3rd place).

NAGT hates me.

I had no internet connection from 16:00 to 22:30 and was not able to race :(

What suspension settings are the top 7 running so they dont have to pit at all. Im not overdriving the car and I still went through 2 sets with the last set going to red for the last few laps. Front tyre temps were easily 20 degress over the back.

How am I meant to cool these down but still not have an understeering car?

what tyres you using Zak, Stickers or heat cycled?. If your using stickers for the race, then there's the problem. Stickers for Qual and heat cycled for the race.

If you are using Heat cycled, then I guess you've just got to try driving a lot smoother. Really listen to the tyres to hear what they're doing. If they start to squeel in a corner then straighten up the steering wheel a little bit to stop them scrubbing as much, and be really smooth on the steering wheel at corner entry. And smooth on the gas on the exit.

Was happy to get 2nd in the end after starting from 5th. First 15 mins I was behind Bas, and I've been in that position enough to know he makes it hard to pass :). But it seemed I had more speed on in the back straight and I was easily able to get past. So with that I was in 2nd with Pablo 7 seconds ahead in first.

Pablo was flying and with me being easy on my tyres the gap to him soon got bigger, and it never halted. I was sure with his pace he would have to stop for tyres but nope, he never did lol.

So when his lead was upto around 20 seconds I just kept an eye on 3rd and paced my self to make sure I got 2nd.

Really awsome Drive Pablo, to have that speed and keep the tyres is some going :).

On the heat cycled tyres for race. THe only problem Ive got is a massive amount of understeer but ive soften the front and stiffened the rear but it doesnt seem to make the slightest difference. The only time I oversteered during the race was coming onto the fastest section if I clipped the inside kerb.

Only really concerns me because Im not able to keep up with people going alot faster than me and still dont have to pit. I dont see how you can go alot faster and not have at least the same wear.

reading kieron talk about stickers and heat cycle tires I remember that I forget to use stickers in qualy, this explain why some guys were so fast in qualy. LOL

In the race I was thinking what will happen when disappear the red tires squares scheme, nothing, maybe a puncture? I wasn't worried about it, I thought "nothing happens"

I discover it when -after race finish- I scrubbed the tires turning the wheel at maximun... puncture

Grats to podium! Pablo was a machine in the C6, win totally deserved! was laughing at your puncture though after crossing the line! talk about cutting it close.

Was not very happy with Q as i had set a faster lap in free prac, but couldn't replicate it in Quali session, but 6th was nothing to be upset about.
What was was spinning it on lap 1 going up the hill for the double right hander, car wouldn't stop and i looped it.

Waited for the whole field to get passed and set off again, still with the plan of not trying to overdrive the car, as i had just figured out how to make the tyres last the race. Came across 9th-15th battling it out a few laps later, and had fun getting through all of that. Then slowly making up the harder places, until i was in 4th when Kevin B locked up and went off while trying to defend 3rd place, unlucky dude, was set to be an epic battle for position ...

Brought the gap to kieron from 12 seconds to 3.5 seconds by the end of the race, although it was probably due to kieron looking after his race more than me catching him...

Zak, the Volvo eats front tyres and this track has a lot of corners that just make that worse. No way would it go the distance here.

Which car is best on tyres? I tried the Aston last week at Long beach but the rear tyres pretty much disappeared and a Volvo won so tried that this week.

Aston should last whole distance. In beta phase, when tires were even more sensitive, we tested around Mid-Ohio and I was in Aston, tires lasted whole race and got punctured 1 corner before the end. I also had 2 spins in that race and pushed way too hard in the opening laps.
