NAGT Challenge

Gotta say that was insane! Non stop pressure from Kevin and Samuel for the entire event pretty much. I was getting nervous about my tire wear. I was killing them just trying to stay with you guys. Just made it. probably 2 more laps they were toast. But i just couldn't let up for a second. You guys were just awesome and raced clean all night. That was a great time. Sorry for the contact i had with Samuel and Mike G. Mike i didn't know you had a tire down. I just saw you were slower and locked them trying not to hit you. But did have contact. Other than those incidents it was a great race! Pleasure racing with you all!

My PC froze> Son of a Gun. Would have loved to finish. i had some nice passes and wished i could have finished!

Came here to learn and hopefully have some fun , both goals achieved but i'm a bit bummed of my late mistake(s) which dropped me out of the 4 car battle we had.

Great fun fun with Kevin ,Dan and Scott with several position swaps and close racing. Almost pushed Dan out of the race once thou ,but i think there was some lag just then , glad we made it through anyways. Thx guys , learned a lot from the tires and handling on this 50 minutes session :).

Would have hoped a bit better handling car thou , but this track proved to be a challenge and 1h practice wasn't quite enough to get it all sorted out. Glad i raced thou , almost dropped out when it was looking like i would never get it right , but managed to make most of the errors in praccy and the race was reasonable solid...to a certain point anyway :D.

Could some of the more experienced NAGT drivers tell me , if this was a tough track for the tires or did i just use them too much ? Had less than 1 'block' of red on my left tire and the others didn't look much better , made it through thou without a puncture :D.

P.S Whats with the absence of Astons btw ? Can't be the 'feel' factor anyway , this thing sounds and looks awesome :D.

This track was a little nerve racking for me. My second race and just wanted to finish. I tried to give everyone room when I was being lapped. If I bumped anyone it was lack of experience and not intentional. Glenn, I didn’t mean to get in to you on lap 6, was going to give you room the next chance I had but I took care of that with my poor braking into T1. Then on lap 32, all of a sudden I had full throttle or no throttle at all in the middle of T12 and spun out. For once I can say equipment failure and not poor technique. Glenn was there again, from his view he probably thinks I’m the worse driver, I’m just glad I didn’t collect him or anyone else in my mishap. To top it all off, last lap, last turn, spun out and gave up a position, I’ll have to take the credit for that one, guess I got excited cause I was gonna make to the end. BUT IT WAS FUN! Great racing everyone!

Had a great race. I spent most of the race managing the gap and saving my tires. I'm glad I did, with the traffic I lost some of my gap toward the end. I still had a good car at the end so I was able to push just enough to finish second.

Grats to everyone for some nice clean racing.

I ran a goofy race tonight. Mike got a great start on me and took the lead coming out of T1 and I decided to have some fun and see if I could pressure him into a mistake. I would keep my nose to his rear bumper and try a fake pass on him to try and keep his eyes on the mirrors at all times. Fortunately, he paid attention and stuck to the road without much trouble. I, on the other hand, had a brain fart on lap 9 going into T1 and completely clobbered his rear bumper. His car didn't even look like it moved while I slid sideways into the festival curves with a bent up front end.

So it took me a lap or two to get back up to him again and continued to fool around a bit but had incentive to get around him ASAP. I tried it once going down into T1 and had the pass made but had a lazy exit, while his Volvo FWD dug into the ground and escaped. Tried the exact same thing a lap later and succeeded, but he still stuck with me and looked to take it back. I shut the door going into T3 and began to pull away from there. Fortunately, my baffonery didn't cause me any more mistakes later on in the race and I brought it home safely :).

Good fight, Mike. Never gave up, that's what I like :)

'grats to the podium.

got a good start for a change, and after having some trouble managing the torque of the Vette in the early laps, i'd settled into a very fun race.

then unfortunately, about mid-race while i was clinging to 4th under great pressure, my video card froze as i was coming down the back straight. when it came back i was spinning across the grass in a swirl of psychedelic scenery somewhere in the third sector. didn't seem to hit anything, and i could sorta tell where i was and what was road, so i thought i'd try a lap to see if it was manageable. but i soon learned it wasn't when i slammed the tires trying to get back on the main straight.

maybe it's time for another video card upgrade.

fun racing and conor gave me a run in the 1st few laps. what he didnt mention was how i kept on his bumper after he passed me. i feared that if i let you go you would take off which you did. i ran my own race and with a smashed up rear bumper my car was never the same. conor never got to 10 seconds past me but i cut a tire and was done. limped the car home and a horrible pattern of beating myself has emerged. need to work on that.

Crashed on Qual., not happy with that. Bounced on track and hurt someone? Sorry for that, car caught fire, escaped.

Enjoyed the fantastic battle for positions 4 to 7. Happy to finish 3rd behind my teammate Rob. First time having 2 Melchione Motorsports cars on the podium.
