Qualified 2nd. A racing incident with an M3 resulted in an off and a spin and I dropped long way down and climbing up took about all of the first stint.

Good quali. Could have made maybe 39 mid but lost it all in the last stint. Still unsure before the race what to take, ngt or G2. At the end I had about 11 L left in my tank cause GTR XD showed 45 laps. My math said 44 :) should have trusted myself :D
At the end my tires were worn and just took it slower giving the fact that I had to stay 2 more laps (as I thought) in front of the Finn :D

Grats Matjaz and George for a nice fuel efficient pace.
Had nice battle with David. Also exchanged some paint with David and George. Btw George - I was scared badly when you overtook me cause I lose the car under braking and came to the inside with nothing I could do.

Overall it was nice but the setup was sooo tricky in T1 and T8.

While i am firmly in favour of the punt rule,sometimes the interpretation could be vague.I was following a BMW in the 2nd stint and he got a bit loose in the last series of turns,so i kept a tight line into the final turn.On exit,i think he was still not fully under control and moved over slightly,i made contact and around he went.That left me thinking,do i do a drive thru,or keep on going and cop a penalty after the race.As i had already dropped another NGT position and feeling hungover and tired,i just hit escape.

The race was very nice and I was having great fun out there with a few fights along the way. I was tyring to push hard but that cost a little too much from the tires and I had to pit early on lap 17 or 18. I fell behind pretty far but I added a little more fuel and hoped I could get to the end of the race with the new tires.

It was goign great and I was lying in 7th place at one spot but unfortunatly the team saw my tires were getting worn on the front and with less then 10 minutes to go I had to make my 2nd stop. With the new tires and low fuel level I push as hard as I could to gain a few places which I lost again. I was doing almost only qualifying laps to the end and I saw that David Brwon who lapped me when I was in the pit wasn't too far away. I push as hard as I could and closed the gap to him to only a few meters in the end, offcourse I wasn't going to pass him in a crazy manner as I was a lap down and he was lying 5th overall but it was great to see that it could have been a top 10 for me if the tires would have made it.

Maybe I'll join in for the next race too as I really enjoyed this one.

My 2nd race at R2P and i enjoyed it very much, some great driving and close racing from all the drivers i encountered i was impressed.

I forgot how easily the tyres wear in GTR2 as i have been into rfactor for a long while and struggled toward the end of my stints.

Well, that was fun for some part and not fun for others. Qualified P3 in Class so well chuffed with that, and early doors the race was going fine. I'd topped up with 100 litres for a 1 stopper, so wasn't going to fight hard - and expected a 45 lap race. Made a stupid mistake early on as I went off track into Mobil 1 Kurve (I was looking at info on XD and missed my braking point completely) - this lost me a few positions. Wanted to squeeze out a 22nd lap before pitting so went super slow for that one lap - and ran out of fuel about 2 metres from my pit - just right!! Topped up 100 litres again and a new set of tyres on, and off I went. Looking at my figures in XD I was going to be tight so until 12 minutes (around 10 laps) to go I took it easy, changing early - I had 45 litres left at that stage and 9 laps to go (something like that) and my fuel consumption was 4.5 ish - so knowing I could reach lap 44 for sure (I had been lapped by the leader by now) I started pushing again. Others pitted in front of me and some slowed clearly saving fuel. Overtook Dyche (G2 class) with about 2 or 3 laps to go as I gained on him quickly, although we did touch I think it was OK. Then on what would be the last lap (lap 43 as time was up for the 75 minutes) I passed a parked G2 with half a lap to go. P8 overall and P4 in class. I had 9 litres of fuel left though - enough for another two laps. So I reckon I could have pushed all race, but that's what poor preparation does for you I suppose - lol.

Sorry to Gregg Mulgrew who I tapped into a spin - I waited for him to retake and lost two other positions in the process. I'll call that favour in Gregg!! And to all out there - there was some good hard racing, I know it's hard to race side by side but I did it with a few people (being overtaken too) and it was a blast.

GTR2 threw up a different race for me here - no push push push, but conserve fuel and tyres. Tactics rather than outright speed.

Steve D- not certain if you looked at the rules, this race was a 2x tire and fuel race.
I had a great race today aside from 2 minor happenings, 1 a small bump (all Good Andy lol) now even hey;>) and shorted myself 7 gals of fuel during pit stop.
Started 2 from last and had a great time working my way to 7th in field 3rd in class when I had to go in for the splash and go.
There was some real outstanding driving today, tight clean racing just some fun stuff.
Bring back more GTR2 I say!!!

Interesting race for me, deciding to go for 1 stop only so I knew this was not going to be 100% attack but fuel conservation mode for the whole 45 laps. My target was keeping it below 4.4 litres per lap and with short shifting and keeping it smooth I was able to control it very nicely. I was almost a second slower from my 100% pace but I didn't bother about that. I just concentrated on George Pol behind me and his pace, since I was pretty sure he is on the same strategy as me. After 23 laps I went to the pits for full tank of fuel + fresh tyres and then continued to control my fuel and my gap towards George behind me. It sure felt nice to win but especially to regain this very interesting experience about importance of tactics rather than pure speed, that's why I've always liked endurance racing. To bad I'm usually not able to race at weekends so this was a very nice change for me and a very enjoyable race.

A race all about saving fuel. Nice to have one like that from time to time. In the opening lap I was too close to Cristi in T2 and had to steer away to avoid contact. That cost me two spots which I later got back. I was sure Matjaz was on a one-stopper and so was I. But the first stint took too much fuel and I had to pit a lap earlier than planned. That meant saving even more in stint two but that all worked out fine. With no chance to close in on Matjaz I went for saving 2nd in G2 and 1st in overall. Looking forward to the next one. And I agree with Gregg ... GTR 2 is still the best. :-)

1: CONGRATS TO THE TOP DRIVERS IN BOTH CLASSES.

2: MY 2ND ONLINE RACE EVER. A little disappointed though. I was posting times in the high 43's low 44's. Not used to the tires wearing so quickly. I had a fuel strategy, but I forgot to plan on being lapped. So really I had too much fuel at the end of the race (by about 5 laps).

3: I HAVE TO SAY, I was very disappointed in the guys that got lapped and quit. I know some of you broke or wrecked out, but we could have raced it out in the back of the field instead of just circulating the air around the track.

4: STILL A FUN RACE THOUGH. As long I learn to help me become better, even though I'm in the bottom 25% of the field, its worth it.

5: ANYONE in the G2 Class driving the BMW M3 care to share their setup for Hockenheim now that the race is over?
