Nurburgring Open

FPS fell to unacceptable levels during qualifying thus leaving was the only logical choice.

Same problem for me in the race. It lasted about 20 seconds and I could barely see where I was going. Luckily I had about 15 seconds of lead at that point so when my graphics came back to normal I was still in the lead and didn't put other drivers to risk, slowly crawling through the corners.

Other than that I had a lonely race with only one problem (just mentioned) and one spin when I lost concentration about 4 laps before the end.

Congrats to all the survivors.

Pretty sure that was my first win in GTR2.

Happy with getting 2nd in class in qualy. There was definatly more time to gain cause I didn't really know how hard I could push on softs, but I was more than happy with 2nd.

First stint of the race was really good fun racing Mario P. Really fun and close racing. Getting close to the stops though Mario ran wide giving me the lead in class. I knew it wasn't over cause I normaly loose loads of time in the pits, so I charged to build a lead over Mario.

Got the gap to around 7 seconds when I made my stop, and for once my strategy must have been pretty good cause I think I gained time in the pits. So I came back out still leading the class and the 2nd stint was all about keeping it on the road and watching the gap back to Mario.

Grats to both podiums and all that finished. Oh and thanks to George P for the setup :).

Overheating hard rears and shot to pieces after only 10 laps left me propping up the rear, they got so bad i had to stop twice :(

Was a long lonely race, even had thoughts of quiting the race but i plodded on an just treated it as a glorified test session :P

I thoroughly enjoyed this race and learned a lot from it. I qualified 3rd in class and 6th overall. In my race setup I seemed to find a speed advantage at a number of points on the circuit, mostly entering the faster corners. It took me a while to find space and find my rhythm though. Early on I got a bit too close behind Brian Fairley braking for the chicane and had to panic brake to avoid contact. That sent me into a spin and I rejoined in 10th.

That wasn't my only spin. While closing in on Adrian Dimitriu about mid race I locked a front and lost it at T1. I later made a good pass on someone into the esses but lost the back end when I tried to stay extra tight as a courtesy, just in case he was still outside me - the replay showed I was well clear ahead. He probably had a good laugh at my expense! My pit stop also didn't go as smoothly as planned so I lost time there too.

My second stint went very well and I settled into a good rhythm making some passes along the way, ultimately climbing up to 2nd in class and 4th overall. I did however upset a driver from the other class when I passed him in the final stages. In his opinion it was un-necessary and therefore risky for both of us. His point is taken.

I'm still very new at this so I have learned a lot from this race. I did feel I drove more aggressively than usual and at times perhaps a little too much. No harm came to anyone other than myself because if this though and I now look to find the right amount of aggression and good judgement. Does anyone know where to find these?
