Anderstorp Masters

Man, that was hard 75 minutes. Took hard-hard wets but soon noticed that fronts did not heat up enough so pitted after 15 minutes for full tank and soft-hard wets. After that Viper felt quite good. Grats CJ and rest of the podium.

The warmup proved that soft wets were the tyres for this one. During the first stint I tried to save fuel to maybe do the race without a stop. Would have been close so I didn't take the risk and only took some fuel at my stop. I didn't fight Claus and Pablo after the stops cos they were much faster. Kinda hoped they would made it not too easy on eachother and I nearly caught Pablo at the end. But Barry almost did the same with me. :-) Great racing there guys. I'm very happy with a 3rd in this car. Grats again to Claus and Pablo and to Barry for making me work for it. :-)

A small word of advice to Mr. Campos: Please work on your re-entries to the track after an off. At the moment, they scare the living daylights out of me.

Jose what was your deal with me?
I kept flashing you to pass me cause you were a lot faster than me in the second stint and you kept sniffing my ass for no reason. You were entering my inside but kept braking, making me reconsidering my line in every corner for a bunch of laps. You managed to distract me when trying to give you space, I caught the grass and hit the car badly. Also you tried passing 2 cars in one corner, in the rain, in the first lap. Obviously you locked up and punted me in the sand.
Anyway.

Grats podium. Well done George. That's a nice finish for the Lister. I am sad now that I didn't stay with the Lister as when I first joined the server.

Don't you just love the rain,certainly levels the playing field out a bit.I went with soft-soft wets and 90L of fuel.The problem with the 575 is with my seat position,i can't see what speed i'm doing,so made a cautious approach to the pits and lost valuable time.I needed to take tyres as the fronts were quite dead and coming out,i was about 25sec behind George.I was over a sec faster a lap in 2nd stint and suddenly a podium seemed possible,but i needed probably 2 more laps,enjoyed that,i wonder how much Tim wants to make some more wet races.

Took hard wet's and messed the setup before race - I couldn't keep it on the track for anything. I think the glare from sunny and 70 over my shoulder may have distracted me into at least one wall. I hate the wet and it seems to follow me on sunny R2P Sunday's. Ugh.

Grats to the podium, and barry finishing in a solid 4th in this field...

no suprise i had a bad race, i hate anderstorp, and even worse with the rain......

Car worked fine, could have done with less power to the wheels, and less brake pressure though, had some silly off's during the race...

should have just used up the viper here and got it out the way :(

hoping for some SUNNY AND DRY races now ..

I used hard-hard in warm-up and I saw the fronts were very cold.

Put soft-hard in race (usual for me in wet) and the car was fast and with a good temperatures and wear rates.
The start was superb and I made a huge gap (12 sec in first 10 laps), but the car had a incredible oversteer, very very difficult to drive, always in the edge, overstering in entry, exit, halfway parts of every corner. With more wing and less rear antiroll the car will be faster and easier. To me this setup was impossible to drive in rain.

It needs a 100% concentration and I was tired because I finished only 70 min before the ILMS race (it was a 90min race). The second stint was a disaster, I made 4 or 5 spins in this stint and also Claus improve his speed.

Anyway was nice to drive this car, completely different from a lambo o a ferrari in wet.

it was nice for the first 15 laps or so .. i was confortably in top 10 just behind mr Nilsson on hard wets .. but after he pitted i started to push a little harded and everything went horrible .
i was fast-ish .. but made mistake after mistake so i finished last .. but at least i finished :D

After a fairly decent start the polesitter in the Saleen went off in T2 and got promoted to second place.
Had company for a few laps with Darren and Gregg but managed to put some air between us. I started out with hard wets all around and was struggling alot with braking and heavy understeer. Pablo was putting roughly a sec a lap until he has a spin and lead was reset. As Gregg cleared Darren he quickly caught up to me and he was faster so I just let the door abit open in one of the banked turns to get him past, unfortunately for him he went abit wide a few laps later so I got 2nd back. I was doing calculations on the strait to figure when I could come in, played it a little safe and went in prolly a couple laps later than I had set fuel for, knew I had to switch to soft wets. So I pitted with Pablo some 6s ahead. Even got passed in the pits by Georges Lister. Stop wasn't that quick imo, only needed less than 20L fuel so 36s was a bit long for my liking. Immediately the car felt ALOT better and next lap I almost cut off 2s of my best laptime.
As I started the next lap I saw Pablo coming out of the pits just behind me so now fight was on. Pushed fairly hard and our pace was pretty similar, but I could tell he was pushing hard too, getting sideways out of the turns under acceleration. One point I made a little mistake in the last turn which allowed him to get alongside on the SF strait but had inside and down the long strait the Maserati couldnt do much about the Corvette.
15mins to go I noticed in my mirror he spun in the last caroussel so after that could start to take it abit more easy. Exciting race but very hard to keep focus, lot of spray obscuring the view when close to someone, think Ill need to tune down the special effects abit heh
