Iowa 200

Thanks everyone...I must appologise as I was involved in more than a few of the incidents that brought out the pace car during the race...still learning.

I'm the one that should apologize to you Chris for that contact right at the end.
Going over the replay, it looked like you were pretty loose & I just barely touched you, but it was enough.

Bunch of shit is what it was. Its pretty easy to see why the numbers are shrinking in the stock cars. People cant make more than 10 laps without crashing, I understand there is gonna be some yellows but the last two races I have been apart of here havent been any better than an open server race. People need to start getting parked.

I have to say that I kind of agree with Jeremy, although maybe not his choice of words.
I made a huge effort to participate in this race because I love my "Saturday Night Gang" despite not being too fit.
I had a good car, not the fastest but with good tire mgmt and I was confident.
LARGE track and small field, you'd think we could have gone 200 laps WITHOUT a caution: instead it was a parade of silliness. Car was damaged early by some banzai moves unnecessary so early in a race. Then someone crashed and I had nowhere to go and the car was destroyed. Blew up going back to the pits.

I think some people just don't have the 200 lap mindset. They think they must race for every position every time. But it's not "bad" or "stupid", we just need to work together to get everyone on the same page. One thing that would help greatly is for everyone to use Teamspeak.

I know some people have strong negative feelings about ASR (or rather, their management), but the fact is, it's by far the best thing we have for stock car racing, and there does appear to be some good things (finally) coming, so we need to work together and help to rebuild this series before it's too late.

Well, I guess I must be part of the problem then because I spun first. I believe it was because I had a pre-patch setup and I knew I had my hands full right off the bat but it was all I had so I had to go with it. After I lowered the track bar and gave it more wedge it was drivable so I lucked out there. Bottom line is I can`t be a perfect race car driver everytime out. I went to Texas last weekend and during the truck race guess what, crash on lap 2. So I guess it`s just part of racing. Just like complaining afterwards. I do my share of that too.

No, Larry, believe me you were not it. We all spin from time to time, whether it's on lap 1 or 200, it happens. I think what I am referring (and I think Charles as well) is the kamikaze passes for a position, fighting like it's the last chance for survival ever.
I agree about TS, it's such big help. It's always easier to say "dude, at the restart just go because I am not thinking that lap 4 is the most important lap of my life".
I agree, let's work together and make it better.

Hey Larry maybe if you spent a little time PRACTICING before a race you would know what you have before you get there. I noticed it was real important that you spent your practice time before the race doing burnouts on pit road. Its obvious by alot of your post race comments PRACTICING isn't something you consider important. Other than the last run we didnt have more than 10 laps without a yellow and thats with alot of ONE lap runs. Sad for a sim that is so easy to drive.
I am trying to learn how to road race. I put in a ton of PRACTICE and if I dont feel comfortable I start in the back, let guys by or generally just try to stay out of the way and call it a learning experience.

As I said in my firsts post I understand there will be yellows but we have had to finish the last 2 races on time because we ran so many caution laps. Again that's sad.

Ya I am bitching. Guess what I am a paying member and that was a BS race. Anybody that put a little PRACTICE should have a right to bitch about it. I guess I could just be a big puss and say what a great race it was and how much fun it was just because I won. Lot of fun Larry

He He, I knew that was coming. You`re right though. I could have won that race if I hadn`t done a burnout during warmup. Awesome. Sorry Jeremy, I was feeling fiesty this morning and that was un-called for what I wrote. I changed it.
