Michigan 200

There was a lot of great racing tonight and I enjoyed every lap. I wasn't anywhere close to being as fast as the leaders but overall it was a good night aside from almost spinning between turns 3 & 4 half way into the race.

The Return ended early with a disconnect. Should have seen the writing on the wall when I experienced problems trying to get back in after practice. At least I did not cause any problems for the championship leaders....

Looks like gas conservation played a big role here.
Stupid gas guage said 60 laps, when there was barely enough for 50...
I had just enough for lap 99, but when Jeremy ran out, I got my lap back & ran out on lap 100.
Then I thought of shifting it into neutral & coasting as far as I could. Of course I forgot to use the clutch button, so when I went down to third the engine let go & I ended up in Matt's path.
Awfully sorry about that Matt, you deserved a better finish. :(

I totally got lucky here. It was lap 1 and I took the outside of Jerry and had a good head of steam. I`m not sure if he lost grip or what but he changed lanes suddenly and I ran right into the back of him. We both ended up in the fence. Really sorry Jerry, I did not do a drive through penalty but if I do have a penalty coming I`ll accept that. I had to pit to fix damage and get tires and of course I`m thinking my race is done before it really even got started. As it turned out that pit stop allowed me to make the distance with just one more stop and my car actually wasn`t bad at all on very worn tires. Everyone pulled away at the start of a run but by the end of the run I was passing cars and moving forward. Still, I had about a 5th or 6th place car. Congrats to Joe. I didn`t even know it was him until after the race. I knew it was GLR- something but I didn`t know that was Joe.

What a race! All 100 laps had me Racing side by side!!with Joe and Jeremy! The 1st 50 to 60 laps was some of the best racing ive had here.Very tight,GIVE AND TAKE RACING.
Then when we pited I was right back chasing Jeremy,Joe was now in 4th back aways.I could tell I was going to have to pit again so with like 8 to go I went in at P2 and came out P5.But with so many trying to play the gas thing I was able to keep a 3rd,Very happy with that!

Great job by the field! One caution and on L1! Excellent, excellent driving by the entire field. Jerry Santell showed tremendous improvement and a very tough break for Bill Kaiser. He worked hard during the afternoon and was prepared but the internet ruined his race. Very happy for Larry A. with the result he earned. Sorry to see that Bill. Once again White, Dan White, Mr Licensed to Kick Everyone's Ass, had the strongest car.

First run, like Tom said, was just an endless battle with Jeremy and Tom. The key, again like Tom said, was the give and take between the three of us. What a blast!

Second run, I was a little hyper-careful coming out of the pits so I lost them some but pushed hard for the next 30Ls and managed the gas situation for the last 20Ls. I was really breathing off the last 15 laps. My gauge said I was going to end up about a lap short so I really backed up my lift points and was very gentle coming out of the corners. Too gentle on the last lap in that I ended up scrapping the wall out of T4 on L100. Crossed the finish line w/ 0.1 in the tank.
