Essington Challenge

can't believe it, my old problems suddenly arise, my computer locked up yet again.. i need a new computer... congrats to Tellbom and Derekis

Apologies to Marcel, didn't intend to hit you there, I was just surprised by how slow you suddenly seemed to be.

Not too bad for my first sim-race in ages, quite a lot of fun these cars around here.

I really enjoyed this one, even thought there was a small turnout. It was great to be able to do competetive times, and I managed to get my first ever pole position.

Had a great race with Magnus, who flew off the start line :). I managed to get a good run out of T2 on lap 4, to take the lead. About 5 laps later, I ran wide at T1, allowing Magnus back into the lead.

On lap 11, my Mcafee kicked in again, minimising my game to desktop, fortunately while I was on a straight, but it cost me 2-3 secs, and with the tyres getting worn, I could not reclose the gap. Very happy with 2nd.

Thanks Magnus for a good, fair battle.

It was my first online race and I can tell you I really enjoyed it!
James Linton was very fast in the first two laps, we had a little contact in lap 12 that costs me 2-3 secs and the first place, but in the next lap he lost his rear wing!

In the last few laps Zak Ollerenshaw chased me, annoyingly behind me :), but it appeared that he was satisfied with the second place, he didn't push me hard!

First time driving in an rFTCC race. In fact, this week was the first time I'd driven the ZR ever! Fun cars to drive, just enough power to keep things interesting.

My race was fine. Was shaping up to be an epic race between myself, Matt and Dennis, but unfortunately Dennis spun near the end of the lap which took him out the running. Shortly after that I started to get warnings about my tyre temperatures, so I eased off a little which let Matt get away.

Good fun, though. Happy to finish 8th overall, and 5th in class. Hope to do more of these races in the future, but Saturday evenings generally aren't good for me at all. It could be months before I do another.

Tried to push you Spyros but couldnt. Realised about 9 laps in I'd put the setup in that I used for last seasons race and not the one I'd modified. Ironically I finished second there as well.

Sorry I couldn't get here guys, had to do an hour overtime at work and didn't get the chance to unregister.

Hope you all had fun, I'm around 40 or 50 pounds towards my new computer! :)

Despite the unfortunate series of events I really enjoyed this race.

Qualifying)

Went fairly well Qualified 3rd which I was very pleased about. My laps weren't too clean so i feel i could of taken half a second out of it.

Race)

Start was an absolute nightmare. I bogged down then began to spin the rear tires then slide left into the wall, lost two positions in the opening straight! all was regained in the back straight where i passed 2 on the out side of the right hand sweeper, I then settled in behind Spyros who had great pace throughout the whole race, I just feel my setup left me stronger in the closing laps.

About 10 laps in me and Spyros had a coming together. One of the GP1's had spun and rejoined with no rear wing and was cruising in the centre of the track in the final sector. With me and Spyros battling very closely we decided to each go either side of the damaged car but unfortuantly for me he turned into my path to get out of the way, i had good reactions and locked up all my wheels and slung round the side of his but unfortuantly i clipped Spyros's rear wheel which pushed him wide and onto the grass in the next corner. With damage to my front right tracking I tried to limp round to the pits but the damage was to much and I spun and put it into the wall. I pulled into the pits to get it sorted when my GFX card failed on me again and froze everything up.

Overall It was one of my most exciting races to date and probably most promising for the win but my stupid computer and a racing incident put an end to that hope...
