F2: Jiading

I've mixed feelings about this.

I qualified okay, could've done better but I had a damaged rear wing so 4th was great, my career best.

Start of the race went very well, but couldn't keep in touch with 1st and 2nd, so I got comfortable in 3rd. But no, AVG decided to interrupt and start scanning my computer (even though I've not got a scheduled scan) and it started slowing my pc down ridiculously, so there I was tiptoeing around whilst my pc froze constantly.

Eventually, I spun and hit the wall. And it all ended in a ball of rage.

Well done Alexei, and everyone else. Will see you at Sepang.

Gosh! that was an eye opener. Well done to Alexei and Igor! Too many spins and one drive-through for wacking Mark (sorry Mark ....) put paid to fighting up closer. And then in the second stint they just kept pulling away, maybe because I never repaired my damage. Some nice battles though with Alexei, Igor, Matej, Michael and Liam. Thanx guys, good clean racing. I was very impressed with the drivers out there!
Ant, I'm going to email you about your CTD's. Man, that must be frustrating, we gotta put an end to that. And then Liam, do what I do, shut down AVG altogether. I race without protection ... :P

Mixed feelings here too Liam.
Some scrapy qualification laps put me in the front row with 0.05x slower lap time than Nebojsa. Last try was perfect with 0.3xx faster time on second split, but spin before long straight finished that try. Ok. Qual here is not some big thing (Nebojsa started first and finished at the back, and Alex started at the back and finished first)!!!
And the race. Huuh.
Started fine, grab first spot in the middle of the first lap and then raised difference to 2nd runner some 6 seconds and maintained constantly - relaxed without much pushing.
At the lap 14, FPS started to drop for some 3-4 seconds, until black window appears with engine sound stil on. I pushed brake pedal and... Desktop appeared with some request from HP solution manager. I pressed rFactor quickly and expected to see car in the middle of nowhere without wings or something like that. No. I was parked near the track and saw two guys passing me at that time. Consolidated and continued to race from 3rd spot. Gain to 2nd and stayed there until the end.
Alex was quick. Difference between us varied from 8-11 seconds for the last 15 laps. I decided that there is no need to try some acrobations to catch Alexei, 2nd is still good enough after shock from 14th lap.
I made some calculations after.
I lost some 7 seconds from the average lap at that 14th lap with HP software interupted my race.
I also lost some 5 seconds (compared to Alexei time) in the pits. It was 2:05 + 1:47 on those laps and Alex made 1:51 + 1:56, so my pitstop was 32 seconds slower from average lap and Alexei made the same thing in 26 seconds slower time. I stayed for refueling and tire change 8 seconds. And I know where I lost other 5 seconds. I must admit, that was my first pitstop on this track ever. It is my fault that I didn't practised entering in the pits so I slowed to much in that sequence. My fault. 2 weeks ago, I missed pit entry and got without a fuel next lap. Same mistake.
Anyway calculation is 7 + 5 seconds = 12 seconds lost.
And I lost the race to Alexei by 11 seconds. Haha.
And it could be much interesting this time Alex. It could be close.
But again, congratulations to Kononov, well deserved win.

Well I'll be back at Sepang, trust me ;) I'll have AVG gone, everything else gone that is likely to interrupt, because this is my first full season in my sim-racing career and I want it to be great! (As if it wasn't already :P)

But yeh, awesome clean racing. Next round will be even better.
