2 Hours of Sebring

Began having a sound issue during qualifying. It sounded like machine gun fire but really, it was just looping the sound of the engine in the background at a high frequency. Bad things tend to happen to me when that occurs so I pulled out. Disappointing really since I was really looking forward to this one. Oh well, there's always next time.

Another driver in the Novice race complained about the ame sound issue... I CTD when I driver left the server during practice...Dunno what that caused it...Also Cesco was botted witha .veh collission after being in the server for more than an hour..

I got booted from server-did not lose internet-during the race. Was in first when happened-hmmm.

XML shows you were disconnected Chris, not booted.

If a Steward (or anyone else) boots you from the server, you are completely removed from the XML results file, as if you never existed on the server at all. In this case, you have a DNF reason of "DNF" which only appears when you involuntarily disconnect from the server.

I did not mean booted like the admins booted me-the game booted me is what I meant! Dont read into it too much.

Ah, I just didnt want you to think one of the Stewards booted you without cause/warning. Sorry to hear of the disco, especially while leading!

Fun race, even if it wasn't wheel to wheel racing.

Was happy to get pole, cause I was running a 2 stopper so I knew I needed a clear track to get some fast laps in, cause in Pre race chat there was talk of one stopping (was pretty sure Tim was but wasn't sure about anyone else). I didn't have time to test a one stopper so I just split the race in 3 and went pretty much flat out.

The first 15 mins or so I had Kevin S behind but the gap was around 8 secs until I saw him leave the server. After that Tim, Justin and Kevin B where behind but not far enough behind. I'd pretty much figured by there pace they where one stopping so I was going as fast as I dared to build a lead but I knew there was no way I would build a big enough gap by the time I needed to pit.

Lap 19 and it was time for my stop, and I was only something like 20 seconds in front of Tim, and not much more ahead of Justin and Kevin B. Made the stop and got absolutely gobbled up. Rejoined in 4th 20 odd seconds behind Kevin B and 30ish behind Justin and Tim. I thought I was pretty much done there and then.

probably made around 5 seconds on the top 3 by the time they pitted, so I was in 1st again but still had a stop to make so I put my head down and tried to get some good laps in.

Can't remember the gap I had on Tim, Justin and Kevin when I made my last stop. But I was just sat there waiting for Tim and the guys to scream past while the crew sorted me. Tyres on and fuel in and still no sign, then chugging down pit road Tim's Viper goes thundering past. Not to bad then, then at the end of pitroad Justins Porsche goes past. so all is not lost after all.

Managed to sneak past Justin a couple of laps later then I was trying to make up a 5 second gap to Tim. Was a little concerned about my fuel so I didn't go at him 100% but I had the gap down to around 1 second, but I wasn't catching him fast enough really, and I knew I would struggle to find away past.

Coming up to ten mins left though Tim ran slightly wide in a right hander and lost the rear and half spun, giving me a 7 second lead. After that I was just taking it easy and watching the gap back to Tim to make sure I made it to the end.

Got lucky with the win really as I found out after the race Tim had a few spins which probably cost him the race. But that's how it goes sometimes I guess.

Good drive, guys. Not much of a race, unfortunately. I spent most of the race behind Tim with no one to race. The later stages of the first stint, Tim made some mistakes which put me close to and then ahead of him and we had some fun for a few laps there but after the pit stops he took off with Kieron and I spent the rest of the race just driving like in practice. I had a few brain fade offs in the later stages because I was just getting distracted between fabcar sightings.

On the bright side, traffic was all very good for passing and being passed.

Johnny, you don't need to be quite so polite in making way for us. I appreciate the gesture, but there were at least two times during the race where I was coming on to lap you and you really went out of your way to let me get past. In both cases, I wasn't gaining on you very quickly at all and was never close enough to be interested in overtaking. You should be confident and just keep driving your race until we're close enough to make a complete move. I'm not complaining, politeness on the track is great, but people being lapped have just as much right to stay in the race as people doing the lapping.

Thanks Justin. Yeah, I know but I wasn't feeling it today. I felt I needed to get out of the way early to let you guys pass. I don't always do this but this race wasn't doing it for me. Truth of the matter is I was driving just to finish the race, not to race. Wasn't fun.

Oh, this is the first time I get called out for being to polite lol but I completely agree. Maybe next race hopefully I'll be more enthusiastic about the race :(

Congrats to Winners. This is what you call a very respectable race.

Well my strategy and setup might have worked out properly in a full 24 hour race, but not in this one. I would have been dead last in the Fabcar division if those disconnects had happened. Not the way I want a podium for sure.

My main concern was (is) the poor starting grid. Isn't it a better idea to merge the Novice and the Pro divisions into one and perhaps increase the number of cars allowed instead?
