Intro to German Touring Car (Euro)

Disco, what else.

1st pitstop went OK but second once again guy telling me several times to shut down the engine which was not running. WTF is that? Cost me extra 15 to 20 seconds. And a lap later I got the disco to Lobby. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

My only hope in this race was the pit strategy. I knew that if I got caught up in a battle on track I would certainly not make the podium. So, the moment that I started getting into a battle with 3rd (I started 4th) I dove into the pits on lap 5 for fresh rubber. I was back out and running at top speeds while the top-3 fought with eachother. By the time they had completed their first stop, I had a 10 sec lead on what was 2nd and 3rd, and almost got the lead from Janko too.

My second stop was the same theory... refusing the get into a fight on the track I dove in on lap 14 just as Matjaz had made up the 10 second gap on me. Got back out and again by the time Janko and Matjaz completed their stops I was comfortably in 2nd with a 9 second lead over Matjaz. I had no hope of catching Janko so I just settled in for the final 2 laps which I knew were going to be a huge brawl with Matjaz.

Matjas didnt deny me of the brawl, that's for sure. He made up the 9 seconds I had on him and we fought tooth-n-nail the entire final lap with me just BARELY taking 2nd from Matjaz.

Mike Arn, I am super sorry for my horrendous punting of you. I was just caught off guard... I think you tried to let me pass, but I was alraedy prepared to settle in behind you for that corner. I dont know the exact circumstances, but I am very sorry for that hit :(

WOW... had a great race overall. Lost positions after a spin and worked my way back from last to 6th. I really wasn't too comfortable in the car yet. I've been monkeying a lot with the setups, but the BMr is neutral handling so a lot of my changes didn't affect the car too drastically, except my diff. settings, wig and splitter. I just have to work on my driving style a bit. The last several laps were totally challenging. My tires were getting really bad and my times were dropping off pretty fast. Got challenged several times the last four or five laps for the position but was able to hold him off. Don't think I could have done it too much longer, the car was getting very loose, and I eventually would have to give up the spot.

Very good race quality and resultwise.

Had a pole but Worship overtook me before T1 ... i seem to get bad starts always. I stayed behind him (we almost came together in one turn, but just managed to miss him as his brakes locked up.) till he went to pit and then made a nice lap and 1 lap later i pitted i was infront of him and just a few meters infront of Tim, but then managed to pull away.

Had a few moments with the blue-flag guys, but thankfully nothing too serious.

Superb race, but I did a silly mistake that costed me 2nd place. I've started from 2nd... it seemed like a decent start but Grecian was just amazing from 3rd place passing me and Janko for the lead. I followed Janko and in the first laps his car seemed quite nervous going sideways and on the curbs almost giving me a chance to pass. Then half way through the first stint I suddenly realized I forgot to set my pit stop strategy so when I came in guys wanted to add fuel. I then had to change orders on my pitstop board so they would not add fuel and that took me about 10 seconds. After my second stop I was in 3rd and was gaining time towards Tim who was in front of me. It came down to the last lap where I had a good run on him out of the first corner but just couldn't pass him. We were sideways for two corners... a great fair fight. I pushed for the rest of the lap and Tim was on the edge as well sliding and again gave me a chance approaching the last 2 turns. He decided to stay left so I knew my only chance was to make a better acceleration coming out of the last turn. I did that but the finish line came to soon so Tim just managed to stay in front. Still I'm very pleased with the race and with adrenalin rush going through my veins in the last lap. I had a great setup and it was really enjoyable to drive... to bad I forgot to set the fuel strategy as I think 2nd place was mine to take tonight.

Was miles off the pace as I knew I would be. Fast off the grid but had to slow because car in front must have missed the lights. Got to T1 and clashed with Don, (my fault he was in my blind spot, stupid left-hand drive cars), and ended up in the gravel.

I just can't drive this track in GTR2 :(

Good race though well done to the winners...

Really enjoyed my first outing with you guys. Was well happy with 5th in quali and kept it there through turn 1 but made rookie mistakes twice leaving the door open later in the lap and lost 2 positions. After that I settled in a bit and was soon back to 5th due to mistakes in front of me. Pitting is new to me but I had my settings right for the first stop and was in & out fairly quick for a good second stint. I took my 2nd pit right on the tail of 4th place and tried to nick it by only changing the rear tyres, but I selected fronts by mistake and still came out a few seconds behind 4th so that didn't work. From then on it was all downhill and I was nervous of my tyres so I just nursed it home in 5th losing time to 4th right up until the finish.
Well organised and great competition, I'm hooked after my first race, cheers guys.

happy enough to finish,knew pace would be fast ,so hoped to make some-time up with pit strategy,didnt work lol ,but i know what to expect now,tyres wouldnt heat up on rears and after 2 shaky corners and a spin,i had to come in and change all 4 to race to finish,knew i would just have to maintain pace to pick up places and just nursed it home.

Great race! Had a lightning start...jsut perfect whith a little wheelspin and great traction! Just made it in front of Janko into T1 and we battled till i pitted!

Made same error as Matjaz and forgot to add fuel b4 race so cost me like 11 secs or more in pits!

Shame for that as i wouldve been i nteh great battle with Tim and Katjaz!!

Well, I hate Brno, but that is for another discussion :/

The beginning went OK and I coud actually hold around 1.5 secs to Tim in 4th. Once he pitted I started to slip back, not sure if the guys up front picked it up or I slowed.

Anyway, with 8 or 9 to go I had done both pit stops and was in 5th when a minor household emergency came up and I HAD to leave. Sorry to skip like that during the race, I know it is distracting, but it couldn't be helped.

See you next time - on a better track :)
