NASRL Caterham fun-run #1

Yehaa!!! Race 1 was a pretty eventful race for me. I had guys to my left and couldn't see them so I was leaving a bunch of room but drove my self off the track lol. I was able to get 3rd at the finish.

Race 2 was where it was at. Vincent Jason and I had a pretty fierce battle for a bunch of laps, then in the final laps it was between me and Vincent. His car could handle the curbs really well. I tried but mine just couldn't take it. I made a run but couldn't make it stick. Then last turn, last lap I try outside in the last turn and I get a great jump, but not enough to get by. Great fun guys. and Congrats on the 1-1 finishes Vincent.

Wow, these things make for a wild ride. What a tire-meltingly good time :)

For me, this is the kind of track where it's easy to get caught up in chasing the guy in front of me, and forget to maintain a healthy respect for the track- sooner or later, the track is going to speak up and give me a reminder. I blistered everything early dicing with Bryce, and had nothing left for the 2nd half, which I spent alone.

Race 2 I was in 3rd on the grid after the inversion. I completely fell apart during the first two laps and everybody swarmed by- one final off and I was dead last. Mark, were you waiting for me? I'm pretty sure I went off on my own, I didn't feel any contact. Mark and I did some side-by-side action not long after that, which was mighty risky :) I saw plenty of sparks and paint fly off in the middle of the corners as I plowed around. I did my best to calm down after that, settled in and hoped I might catch a few spots, which I did. Caught Mike C all of a sudden, got by and closed on Miguel. We had a great battle for several laps. Both of us were sliding around quite a bit, and pretty soon Mike C was on my back bumper pressuring us both. I got inside on braking a couple of times and couldn't hold it- Miguel fortunately was very aware and let me slide out and passed me back both times, well done Miguel! Finally on the next to last lap I got a good run on the final turn and had a clear enough lead into T1 that I could make it stick.

Should be a fun season, these cars are a real workout!

We all poured into T1 and it was all going nice and clean and suddenly my game went to TV camera view and showed me rolling into another car and then CONNECTION LOST popped up. Hopefully my car vanishes instantly and isn't hitting people on track when that happens. If so, sorry.

Race 1 was great fun. These cars are the best. I had a less than average start and was lucky that some of those in front of me went off or had problems on lap 1. I found myself racing with Vincent and Mark mostly after the dust cleared, and Vincent got by to take the win. Great clean racing by all around me. I'm glad to take a 2nd place in this race! Fun fun fun cars to drive. I love the open cockpit.

My heart wasn't in this one when I realized the difference in line people were taking. The cars are quick but not sure how much fun they are. Depends on the tracks I think. I was mid field during R1 and was staying about in that range when I caught the inside curb heading towards the s/f straight and the car hung and spun out. I got back going in last and a lap or two later wsa late braking into T1 and said screw it. I learned what I needed to learn about these cars. Then I went back to running nKP.

My apologies to Mike C. for getting into the back of him on the 2nd lap of the 2nd race. I completely miss judged the rate of closure and could stop in time. I stopped and waited for you to pass me back. Sorry again about that Mike, my fault.

I thought it sucked.
Sholder Monster got me! got stuck and I couldn't get out! Got Pissed off again and left.
Practiced for hours the best time I got, once was a 1:31:++
Had a steady 1:33.5 ish Not good enough.
